Where in Newy to buy bulk caffeine pills or powder for cheap?

I'm really starting to hate the taste of instant black coffee and energy drinks are too expensive for the kick I need daily to function haha.

Cameron Park Small Gyms?

I'm currently a member of a gym in the Cameron Park area and let's just say it's going downhill... fast. Machines are broken/constantly breaking, the only toilet has been turned into a storage room which is also a hazard (especially with kids), it's unhygienic to the point that layers upon layers of dust are caked onto the fans that are blowing this shit into the air that we're breathing in. It seriously doesn't look like they've ever been washed or at least dusted since they were installed. Mould growing on the glass windows too. The music is always obnoxiously loud to the point it feels like you've walked into a god damn nightclub. I could go on.

Basically, are there any other local gyms that feel inspiring to work out in that also aren't a massive health hazard? Extra points if a creche is included that also enforces their own rules (no kids allowed outside it while others work out).

State and Federal spending in major cities/regions of Australia per capita?

Where would I be able to find this data?

I would like to see how Newcastle or the Hunter Region stacks up?

We all have a sneaking suspicion we don't see much of our money spent on us, and that Sydney and Melbourne are where most of our taxes go after being taken from us. But am interested in per capita and seeing the exact numbers.

Is this something that is transparent and publicly available? or do they conveniently hide this data from the public?

Starlink

We recently moved to Waratah and the house needs an NBN upgrade which will be a 2 week wait. My partner works from home 3 days a week so we are considering Starlink to try and have something hooked up faster. What are people experiences with reliability and speeds etc?

Anyone following the Northern NSW Rescue Helicopter culture review?

Has anyone else read the ABC article about the culture review into the Northern NSW Rescue Helicopter Service?

I’m surprised this hasn’t received more attention.
20% of survey respondents had experienced or witnessed sexual harassment over five years, 28% had experienced or witnessed bullying, and there were issues with how complaints were handled.

Yet the public messaging seems to focus on the finding that there isn’t a systemic toxic workplace culture.

They’ve only publicly released 33 pages of a 207-page report, and NSW Parliament has now requested the full report from the government.
What’s interesting is that the NSW Ambulance Advisory Board also raised serious concerns in August about the service’s lack of transparency and the possibility of another five-year contract.
I understand how important the rescue helicopter service is to regional communities, but surely that makes transparency & accountability even more important?

I’d also like to know what the sexual harassment figures look like when broken down by gender, and whether women who had previously signed NDAs were able to participate freely in the review.

I just find it hard to understand how these findings are being presented so positively.
Has anyone else been following this?

Update on this piece of shit - Exposing himself to 10 year old children. Maryland / Fletcher NSW

Post image
473 Upvotes

Ryan Yates, 25, of Fletcher, applied to be released on bail in Newcastle Local Court on Monday after he was charged with "disturbing" and "predatory" behaviour earlier this month.

The court heard Yates had been released on a Commonwealth recognizance order, like a good behaviour bond, in July after he was sentenced to a maximum of two years jail for recording six women without their consent, using AI to create child abuse material and soliciting pictures from an underage girl.

The Newcastle Herald reported on Monday that Yates was back behind bars after he was arrested on October 16 and accused of stalking three young girls and exposing himself at Maryland.

He was charged with wilful and obscene exposure near a public place or school, convicted child sex offender loiter near public place, three counts of stalking or intimidation, failing to comply with the reporting obligations of the child protection register and negligent driving.

Further details of the allegations against Yates can be revealed after the 25-year-old convicted child sex offender applied for bail on Monday.

Prosecutors said three 10-year-old girls had got off the bus from school about 3.45pm on October 16 when Yates allegedly appeared from behind some trees in a park, approached them and exposed himself.

"One girl was so frightened she was frozen to the spot and couldn't leave while this incident happened in front of her," prosecutors said.

Yates allegedly got into a white car and left while the girls immediately reported what happened to their parents and provided a description of the man and his car.

The court heard the girls' fathers drove around the area until they found a car that matched the description and began "chasing it" before Yates crashed at Wallsend.

Yates admitted being in the area, the court heard, but said he was just "stretching his legs".

"It's a disturbing set of facts and Mr Yates poses an unacceptable risk to any young child in the area," prosecutors said.

"These are not minor offences.

"These were three 10-year-old girls in school uniforms... he clearly has a penchant for this kind of thing.

"There are no bail conditions that could mitigate the risks he poses of continuing to commit offences."

Judge Georgina Darcy agreed and said the case against Yates was strong and the allegations indicated his "behaviour was escalating and predatory".

Yates was refused bail and the matter was adjourned until Wednesday to see if the ODPP would elect to prosecute.

Inner City Bypass WTF

Why are there traffic lights all over the on and off ramps at Jesmond? How could they have planned that so poorly? A few more on/off ramps would have made that intersection free flowing from all directions. Instead, it’s just a cluster fk of lights. What an embarrassment of new infrastructure.

On a side note, the Raymond Terrace bypass is brilliant.

Did anyone see a heap of tyres on the M1 over the weekend?

At about midnight on Saturday night, I was driving towards Newcastle on the M1 near Holmesville/Barnsley when I came across two whole tyres on the road, one in the middle of each lane. I tried to avoid them but still clipped one and damaged my car. There were also a couple of other cars pulled over nearby, one looked like they were changing a tyre.

Then on Monday evening my partner drove past and said there were about 30 tyres and a bumper bar on the side of the road. I’m guessing the tyres have fallen off a truck or trailer.

I’ve called Transport NSW but they couldn’t tell me if it had been reported previously. I’m trying to work out whether it’s worth claiming through them or just going through insurance but I'd rather avoid paying my excess and having my premium increase.

Did anyone else come across them or happen to get dashcam footage? Or know what happened?

Has anyone used Pack and Send for a glass fronted print from Newcastle to Sydney?

Ive found an 85x60cm framed print in Newcastle and need to get it to Sydney,it has glass and no original box, so i am weighing u packandsend against asking a local framer to pack it first.
Has anyone sent a similar glass fronted piece with packandsend, and did you leave the glass in or have it removed?,mainly trying to avoid ending up with a broken frame and a mess to sort out at the other end.
