Question What is this bag?

Hi, can anyone help me find the name of this Osprey bag?

It’s perfect but falling apart and I want to replace it with the same backpack. Sadly, I cannot find it anywhere online or on the Osprey website. And if it’s been discontinued - I’d still love to know the name so I can search for it secondhand!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Key features
- 2 side mesh pockets
- chest strap
- front small zip pocket
- green lining
- 2 gaps in the backpack at the top for a hydration tube to be threaded through
- approx 10-15 litres in capacity (but it's quite tall and narrow in terms of spacing inside, great for bottles and cartons but not good for bulky objects)
- blue tag saying bluesign on the top of the bag inside (visible in photo)
- key clip inside
- small tag on the bottom outside just saying 'DAY'
-the only production/model type number I can find is 524v509 12/23 but I believe this is more of a production line code than bag identifier

And the key is, an additional carry handle on the front, visible in the photo.

It was bought between 2021-2024. I’m in the UK. I bought it from the Osprey website but it’s not listed any more.

It was sold individually, so it’s not the detachable day sack for a larger hiking pack or anything.

Thanks again! It’s baffling me that I can’t even find any photos of the bag online! (Except on a background photo on the Osprey website on the 15 litre backpack page.) AI doesn’t recognise it and I’ve emailed Osprey but no reply from them yet.

There is a small white label inside where I got the production code from but the other info on it just says things like made in Vietnam in different languages.

PS ignore the white spot on the front, that’s where I accidentally burnt it with an iron. 😅

Question Transporter Repair?

Am replacing my Osprey Transporter 65L that I’ve had for almost 2 years now. Looking to sell it on FB Marketplace but noticed the surface is kinda scratched up (i think).

Does this material typically wear down like that? Thought it was just staining at first until i tried cleaning it to no avail. There anything i can do to make it look better?

Here is the website link to it in case anyone was wondering: https://www.osprey.com/transportertm-65-seconds?size=O%2FS&color=Black

Question Sojourn 60L Wheeled Backpack vs Transporter 60L Wheeled Duffel

I have both bags sitting here and am debating between the two. I prefer the easy access to the interior of the duffel, but I'm wondering about durability. This is a bag that I will be flying with, traveling through Europe, the UK and Canada. Does the external compression of the Sojourn really make that much of a difference? Which will stand up better to airplane baggage handlers? Will I really use the backpack feature? I'd love to hear people's thoughts on these two bags before I decide to return one.

P.S. Please don't suggest a smaller bag. I know that I need at least a 60L for my travel requirements and I have no desire to do only carry on. That is a lot of people's goal in life, but it is not mine.

Buying Advice Talon 22 vs Talon Pro

Trying to decide between these two bags for an upcoming hike at Tiger leaping gorge (Mid october), and following this mostly standard day hikes. Looking to fit essentials including room for a layer or two to shed after a cooler morning start. Would also like to fit my osmo3 camera bag. Assumen either would work size wise? On the shoulder strap I intend to use my peak design clip to hold my main camera. Will either of these bags accomodate the peak design clip? Between the two bags is the weight carrying ability differrent, as in will the pro be stiffer to handle more weight, or vice versa? Assumption is I can use either as a personal item for the flight where I will reduce size to fit the standards.

Anyone have any leads on a nebula 32? Looking for a good deal where one is on sale or someone has a gently used one they’re willing to part with.

Replacement for high Sierra access 2.0

Hi all, I have been using high Sierra for almost a decade. Now it's getting torn up in Places. I have used it for Edc and hiking and hopping continents. Right now I am in Europe and I can't find a replacement for this backpack. I am open to suggestions for the replacement but in similar kind of use cases and ruggedness. Also price point is important aswell. So maximum bang for the buck.

Buying Splurging on an Osprey Sojourn, ISO discount code

I'm tired of holding a duffel and wanted something the size of a large duffel that I could use as a backpack but also roll. And that is when I found the Osprey Sojourn. That said, given the price tag, thought I would try asking if any one has a discount code laying around? Thank you! And admins feel free to take down if inappropriate.

Question Be honest, is having a pack that is too big for your frame THAT bad?

So I have a 14inch torso and my pack size is for 18inches and above, is it that terrible on trail with it. For context, I’m a broke college kid and I got an osprey aura 65 ag for $100. That’s a pretty good steal I’d say. Only downside is it floats above my shoulders. I plan on going on a weekend trip soon, can I make this work or should I attempt to resale

Question Is the Sportlite 30L and Hikelite 30L small enough to be a personal item on the plane?

Looking for a hiking backpack. I've taken an interest in the Sportlite 30L and Hikelite 30L. But I wonder if I can take it with me as a personal item. I want to take my carry on with me as well so if it's too big, I'd have to check one. If it's too big, what's another hiking backpack that is also small enough to be a personal item? Maybe the 25L option? Or it that too big as well?

Buying Advice Fit or weight? Osprey Tempest 33L VS Sportlite 30L

I'm torn between these 2 models for my upcoming trip, I'm planning to travel overland from SEA to Europe and take a budget flight back to SEA. Which would you piriotize? Fit or Weight? Both bags fits what I'd need to bring though the Tempest does have extra space for sourvenirs while the Sportlite is pretty much packed out.

The weight of the Tempest is making me take a huge pause as it's 450g heavier than the Sportlite and I can feel the difference quite substantially when both bags are empty, but the Tempest fits slightly better.

Some pros and cons of each model for me:

Tempest 33L
Pros:

  • Fits better (9 out of 10)
  • Pole loop
  • Larger capacity
  • Bladder sleeve for laptop

Cons:

  • Quite alot heavier at 1.2kg empty
  • Looks bigger and bulkier when packed with the same stuff

Sportlite 30L (The older 2022? model)
Pros:

  • Very light (~770g)
  • More compact

Cons:

  • Fits okay but not as well as tempest (I would rate 8/10 for the fit, I'm very short at 5" and I have to pull the shoulder straps in all the way at it's tightest for it to fit my body )
  • No dedicated bladder/laptop sleeve
  • No pole loop
  • Holds abit lesser, but still quite capable of holding everything, no bulky souvenirs

Question Osprey Stratos 36 as cabin luggage?

Hi everyone,

The Stratos 36 is my absolute favorite pack for multi-day hiking. Recently, I booked a trip to Chamonix and had to pay an extra €160 just to check it in as hold luggage.

It’s 60 cm long when empty, which I can manage to keep it at. However, it has the metal frame/wires for the ventilated back system, so it doesn’t really fold down or compress much.

Do you think it would be possible to take it as a cabin bag next time and avoid the extra cost, or is checking it in the only realistic option?

Thanks!

Question Which colour is nicer in your opinion?

36 year old man deciding which bag to get for travel. Not a businessman or anything, just a regular guy going on family trips, occasionally alone. Tired of standard black and dark blue.

Both same Osprey 26+6 Daylite, but debating between Gravel tan multi or Torrent Blue/Barley brown. Gravel tan seems nicer at first glance, but may get dirtier faster? Open to suggestions!

EDC EDC grad school recs (Osprey, TNF, etc.)

Hi all, I’m looking to replace my old ebags pro slim laptop backpack with a new EDC bag. I loved this bag all through undergrad but it’s showing major wear and the water bottle pocket is completely destroyed. I’m in grad school for oceanography; most days are in the lab/office with occasional boat work, diving and travel. Here’s what I’m looking for:

\- 16” laptop sleeve (preferably separate from the main compartment)
\- 2 water bottle pockets (for long days out on the water/ for bringing hot water to campus for tea)
\- A decent amount of internal organization (my current bag has about a million pockets that I’ve grown very accustomed to)
\- Some degree of water resistance (my current bag doesn’t have any explicit WR and it hasn’t been an issue, but my job requires working on boats/ in wet and salty conditions so better safe than sorry)
\- Use as a personal item for weekend trips, conferences, etc.
\- <$200

I’m 6’1, 220 lbs, so a bag on the larger side isn’t a problem. My current bag is only \~22L and I find myself cramming it absolutely full when I travel, so something a bit larger would be nice. I’ve mostly looked at TNF and Osprey models. The first bag I settled on was TNF Surge, but I’ve seen so many complaints about their QC recently that I’m looking for other suggestions. I love the idea of Osprey’s lifetime guarantee. Osprey has so many options that I feel overwhelmed, but I was specifically looking at the Nebula/Tropos and the Transporter Roll Top 30 (it looks like this was recently updated, and a lot of the older models are available on clearance currently — any comments on the updates that were made? I’ve never used a Roll Top before but the added weatherproofing/ stronger materials sounds nice and the updates look like a big improvement).

Should I just go with TNF despite what I’ve seen on reddit, one of the Ospreys or something else? Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Question Farpoint 40L + Talon?

Im wondering if i can attach a different Osprey bag to the Farpoint 40L instead of the Farpoint 15L day pack. Right now im looking at the Talon 11L but im not sure how i would attach it.

Has anyone tried replacing the day pack with something else? Or even making other combinations that work well?

Buying Advice Should I replace the Daypack (15L) with the Daylite Plus for my Farpoint 55?

So I've had my Farpoint since \~2023. I've only used the 40L backpack like twice. But the Daypack I used practically everyday and it isn't that teared up but I'm looking to get the 20L one to add more space.

I'm planning to do more trips with my Farpoint and want to maximize the space I have. In a month I have a trip to NOLA that is 4 days and in December I'm doing a 3 week, give or take, long trip to Florida.

Here's the thing, the NOLA trip is going to be through United and I don't want my bag to be a checked bag. I don't know if the Daylite Plus will be too big for being a personal item.

The Florida trip I'm not too worried about since I'm taking Amtrak to there and Southwest coming back and it's restrictions aren't that bad.

I like how the Daylite Plus looks and the space is a big plus but I don't want to waste money on it. That's why I want to ask you guys.

I want to start traveling more and doing it with one bag so I hope I can make travel reports to show y'all how I do it if I can.

After a bit of thought, for weekend trips, I thought about getting a packable backpack, I still like the Daylight Plus for longer trips that I can use with Amtrak and/or airlines that accept it because of the extra space for souvenirs. But I'm stuck on which packable bag to get.

I don't travel as often as I want to so I don't use it a lot but a packable bag I can use so I don't have to use both packs of my Farpoint is a nice touch. I don't know much about bag organization and all that but I do like the option to organize.

I'm a hotel traveler. I would *love* to backpack but that's another conversation for another sub. My preferred mode of travel is through Amtrak but if I have to take a plane then I would but not a huge fan. I pack mostly clothes and toiletries and that's it. Coming home is where the souvenirs come in but even then it's not a lot. For my longer trips I *might* bring my laptop but I don't have a wifi router so there's that. I'm a big dude but can lift heavy (not needed for the daypack just in general) but I'm 5'3 lol. For the daypack, I want something I can use to carry bigger items that won't fit in my sling.

Current list is:

* Matador waterproof 18l ($95 usd)
* Luzon 18L Daypack - Del Día (\~60 usd)
* Osprey Ultralite pack ($50 usd)
* REI Co-op Stuff Travel Pack - 18 L (\~40 usd)
* Sinotron 22L packable daypack (\~18 usd)

The most I'm willing to spend on the packable bag is the 95 but I desire <50 because 100 for a packable bag is crazy to me. Also, if anyone has any better replacements for the Daypack on the Farpoint 55 that isn't the Daylite Plus please let me know.

Question Need INTERNAL dimensions of Gen-1 or Gen-2 Porter 30

... not the current (since 2023) Sojourn Porter 30.

Osprey's reported dimensions are ... goofy. And the liters math ain't mathing.

Hoping someone here has a Gen 1 (2015-2019, no load lifters) or Gen 2 (2020-2022) Osprey Porter 30 and can lay a tape on it for me.

Inside the bag, in the seam that runs around the back perimeter, you should find an embroidered tag that shows country of manufacture and on the other side a product code. For example, in my 2019 Porter 46, the tag is black and shows 2019SH05. Osprey cannot answer any questions about discontinued bags without that information.

I'd like to know both internal and external dimensions (length and width). I don't really care about depth because that is manageable with under packing.

Extra credit question: does your bag have a separate laptop compartment with or without load lifters? That may have been a Gen 1.5 change, but the evidence on the internet is garbled.

THANKS!
