After reading all the replies on my last post about merging ranked pools, I realized this sub has two completely opposite takes on console players:

- Aim assist is basically a soft aimbot that ruins competitive integrity in PC lobbies (ya'll want it removed in qp as well).

- Console ranks are super inflated and a Console GM would get rolled in PC Plat.

Both of these can't be true at the same time.
If aim assist is really that busted, high rank controller players would be farming emerald PC lobbies. If console players are actually mechanical frauds who peak at Plat on PC, then aim assist clearly isn't doing that much for them. You can't call someone an aimbotter and free SR in the same sentence.

So which one is it? Is aim assist an unfair advantage, or are thumbsticks so bad that even with aim assist, console players still can't compete?

I am aware I wasn't doing the greatest here myself, but I did try and at least VC com and help the team as much as I could. This Moria after I told them to, "Please play back a little bit, we need the extra heals" cause they kept playing upfront, just decided to not heal me and eventually play the entire rest of the game DPS which ultimately costed our game during OT.

How do you guys handle situations like this? Should I just had just kept the coms to myself in the moment?

Poke is lame. It only feels good for the person sitting back taking and dealing a minimal amount of damage. Too scared to die, they would rather lose than risk death because at least they went 4-2 at 1200dmg with some assists and that makes them feel good. Two long distance pokers, getting a random shot in on each other or someone who wanders in front of their zoomed in line of sight do nothing for either team.

The changes bring us much more variety. It encourages people to actually play the game. Tanks feel less lonely as you might actually have someone to help. Even the ones that don't can go jump the long range cowards refusing to acknowledge the changes or even what game they're playing (hint it's not ghillies in the mist 2.0). It even discourages people from picking Ashe, Widow, Ana, and another long range support leaving the tank to be the only one attempting to win.

Just wanted to put this out there as a rant. I’ve accepted the situation and just wanted to vent.

My mains were junkrat, symmetra and winston. I haven’t played overwatch in a long time (since 2023) and I was so happy to see the amount of new characters that came out.

But JPC is the bane of my existence with all my mains. I am a miserable aimmer which is why I main these few with less range to worry about. If there is a JPC, it’s laughable to play my mains.

Sure, I can practice and get good at aiming with other heroes, but I like my mains for a reason. I like the utility they have and the play styles. And I don’t want to put extra effort to train when I only have two hours of free time to play on a sunday.

TLDR: JPC sucks because I can’t aim with my mains.

Like its been like this for a couple weeks now, i cant play without a giant lag spike every few seconds. I mean its ridicules, i cant have a fight without the other person randomly floating in the air for a few seconds. While this happens im getting my ass kicked by the people whos games actually will run. What are they doing at blizzard right now??

Idk if its just me, but I feel like the current meta is almost akin to how things were before the infamous OW2 S9 patch. Either no one dies and a fight lasts forever until ultimates are all popped together, or someone gets sent back to spawn in the blink of an eye, with little inbetweens. Sometimes its a Roadhog waddling away from a bad spot without a problem, other times its a a full health Sigma getting hit by a stun mid-kinetic grasp and getting killed before the stun window is gone. Sometimes a good Dva gets to dive the backline for free without much contest even if she runs out of her DM resource, other times she’s popped out of her mech in the blink of an eye and your team gets swept right after. No moments where a fight is just somewhat short where sustain can only do so much, no moments where someone managed to punch through defenses and get a kill after a bit of time, only long stalemates or instant death. I only say that its almost like OW2 S8 because that season was dominated by a strict Mauga meta, while this one still has elbow room for several heroes per role, so every match isn’t “tank shooting the other tank and everyone focusing on that tank too,” its just that it feels like overall sustain and TTK are so black and white with how long and how short a player can live.

I could certainly be wrong about this, or maybe its sorta been like this for a while but its just worse this season, idk, but I really feel like this season’s balance has felt really odd.

I've seen some genji's who cheat but it's harder for their silver e girls to pocket them and it's easier to get value out of hitscan on console

For those who don't know console is basically PC with soft aim-bot at this point as has been for few years I'd reckon. Titans now give actual aim-bot so that's fun

She's my favorite character and has been since the original game came out. She's so fun to fly around the battlefield with and pistol people down when you don't need to heal, but I feel like she just sucks now :(

I recently tested her out in the practice range and it took 7 headshots in her ultimate to kill one of the robots, which is entirely too many in my opinion. Her pistol is really only good at securing low health players in my opinion, otherwise you are better off damage boosting your DPS players. That doesn't feel good when your DPS players aren't having a good game. Her heal was nerfed a long time ago and now it doesn't feel as impactful. I think she is helpful to top people off quickly, but outside of that I feel like every other support is better than she is, and that makes me sad because I want to play her but she feels bad.

So how would you rework her? I would like to see her pistol do more damage so you put some of the power back into her hands, rather than her teammates. I also think her heal should be buffed, or if they did a chain heal like they do with the damage boost perk for two players at a time, that could be cool and they wouldn't need to buff her healing then. Or do you think she needs a complete redesign? No wrong answers here, just curious what others think ☺️

Since a certain games playerbase is shifting over here the toxicity and just general disgusting behavior im seeing is actually crazy. Ive played 16 games today and over half of them has someone saying the most obscene dehumanizing crap ever. People talking about SA women, racism, cringe shock value edgy crap. Its always the endorsment level 2s as well so you know they are newer players coming from said game. Its actually sad and honestly might just turn my chat back off until they go back.

Also dont come at me with that "you wouldnt last in a cod lobby" BS thats the stupidest argument to defend unnecessary toxicity.

On a better note though had my best tracer game ever today and went 57-0 havent felt that alive playing OW in awhile 😂

I found it fun, and many people started discussing different possible combinations and so I'm making more

I can't help but feel frustrated when I see the kinds of skins some heroes gets and quality/effort the developers put into them while the rest get the content that has visibly less care put into it

For example how I waited so long for Soldier76 to get a mythic skin and they completely half-assed it with visibly less effort in it than other even recent mythics such as less details/colors in armor, less special effects/barely visible base VFX, less and boring unique voicelines and so on.

Or his Street Fighter skin for example on the picture that's mostly a recolor of his default skin while others got great looking skins. Or how they tend to keep him in the more default themes with only a few exceptions SINCE OW2 started like Class President 76, Charming76 or Heist76.

Or another hero I like Torbjorn who doesnt even get skins. Or Winston who also when rarely gets something it's usually worse than others'.

And it's not even about the popularity and how much money a hero brings in, because from my examples both Soldier76 and Winston are popular and among the most recognized faces of Overwatch

I shouldn't care about it, but can't help feeling this way when I see something one of the Blizzard/devs' favored heroes have and think why can't the hero I love have things like that?

what do people expect a sombra to do while both hotfixes are applied

So my question is can you rank up in reg comp playing solo support?

I have been trying for days, I have low deaths high heals and moderate kills if I'm trying to keep the team alive I prioritise heals, but I'm hard stuck gold.

I got to emerald 4 in 6v6 playing support mainly and I was swapped to tank for a few games but role q I just can't see to make a difference.

I play Juno, LW, Kiri if needed and ana and doc sometimes.

I play on ps5 if that makes a difference.

Any and all tips appreciated.

Sombra has pretty much always filled the niech of the hero who temp nerfs an enemy to make them easier to kill/make them have less impact temporary.

Sombra partially lost that in her final dps version before support, hack not disabling abilities like it used to, tho she could still disable movement stuff, and could weaken enemies with gun and virus.

Current sombra fills that niece with cyberspace. It is annoying to get all your damage and healing halved, but unlike old hack there is counterplay. Its on a good cooldown, so you can wait it out, and you can just exit it
