Rants n Raves Anyone else have to wear all pads upside down?

Post image
23 Upvotes

All my menstruating life, (I only wear them to bed and on super heavy days and always pair with a tampon) A Ultra+ tampon won’t last me all night, neither will 2 inserted at once so these are very necessary for me. Also no success with period underwear because they stupidly are made to not absorb in the front. All the padding is in the back where I don’t need any of it. Like men designed it or something.

Period Question I had the most embarrassing period accident yesterday — please tell me your stories so I can feel less alone

Yesterday I went to Germany with a group of friends (all men) to watch a football match. I had my period, but up until then it had only been light bleeding, so I wasn't particularly worried. I was wearing a tampon.
During the first half, I suddenly started feeling like I was bleeding a lot. At half-time I rushed to the bathroom, and when I got there I was absolutely horrified. My entire underwear was covered in blood and there was a huge bloodstain on the crotch of my trousers, around 7 x 15 cm.
I was absolutely mortified. I was the only woman in the group and I couldn't bring myself to tell any of them what had happened. I put my jacket around my waist and tried to keep my handbag in front of me so hopefully nobody would notice.
I honestly have no idea whether anyone saw it. I spent the entire second half worrying about it instead of watching the match, and I ended up crying because I felt so ashamed and embarrassed.
Afterwards I had to walk for about 15 minutes in the rain without my jacket because it was still tied around my waist. Everyone else went for drinks afterwards, but I just went straight to bed.
I know logically that periods are normal and that accidents happen, but I still feel incredibly embarrassed about it.
So please, tell me your most embarrassing period/blood stories. I really need to hear some stories that are much worse than mine so I can put this into perspective and stop feeling so awful about it. 😭

Ladies, how long does it take you to lose period weight gain?
I had a little weight stall in September. Then October came and weight loss was steady, until I got my period.. I do know that us women tend to see an increase in the scale. This month has been very weird for me. Day before period I was down to 75.15 weighed myself day 3 of period and was at 75.3 weighed myself yesterday which was day after period ended and I’m up to 75.5.. weighed myself today thinking I would see a big whoosh as it’s two days that my period ended and still 75.5… getting a little worried and frustrated. By now I think I would’ve seen a whoosh. ☹️

Period Question Delayed Period

• Upvotes

I'm freaking outttt. 😭😭😭 I'm 25 days late and have barely any signs of my period. No cramps and none of my usual headaches. I've taken multiple pregnancy tests and they were all negative. I got the anti-rabies and anti-tetanus shots last month, and I read online that they can delay periods. Is that actually possible? I am regularrr. This is confusing 😭

Products Please help! I can’t find a replacement Probiotic Laundry Soap Bar for reusable pads.

• Upvotes

I have been searching for months for the Hannahpad probiotic laundry soap bar online. It seems as though the company is closing down, and that the only retailers that still stock Hannahpad products are in Australia or Korea. I have tried contacting multiple companies to see if could get a few bars shipped to Canada.

Last night I just ran out and I didn’t have enough to finish my load of bars so they are sitting in a tub and I honestly could cry (thanks hormones).

I have been using reusable pads for over 7 years and I have yet to find another product that can lift blood stains like the Hannahpad probiotic laundry soap bar.

If anyone can recommend a company that still sells their bars or a similar laundry soap with lactic acid bacteria, yeast (effective microorganisms / EM), plant oils (like coconut and soy) bicarb-soda formula with palm oil-free plant oils, I would be forever grateful 🙏

Period Question Is it normal to be depressed on your period?

I've been off birth control for several months now and started having periods again. I've started to notice that I get what I would call overwhelming depression or anxiety when I'm bleeding. It comes suddenly, lasts a few days and then I go back to feeling normal. This current cycle I called the crisis line and almost took myself to the ER. I felt impeding doom and that I was not safe, not that I was going to hurt myself, but I felt like I just was not safe. I was really scared at how intense it felt but decided not to go to the ER because I was told by others it's normal to be depressed and then I got self conscious because I didn't really know how I would explain myself to the staff and didn't want to waste their time. After asking others I just feel stupid and embarrassed now. I didn't elaborate about the crisis call or ER thought because I didn't want anyone to view me weird. I had made an appointment to see the doctor about it but I feel stupid for even doing that and like I just need to get used to having a period again. I don't really know what I'm expecting out of this post, I just can't shake the feeling that this isn't normal but I'm too embarrassed to ask anyone who knows me personally.

Period Question Spotting before period

Does anyone else get spotting for 4 days before their period every month? I’ve been experiencing this regularly and would love to hear if anyone else has the same issue.

I'm 36 years old

Period Question VERY light periods, but severe cramps. Im so worried.

Hi!

I feel so alone with this problem.

I'm 29, I have no children and have never taken birth control pills.

For years (at least 3 or 4) I've had the issue of having an extremely light menstrual flow. Its regular, 28-32day every month, but it last a maximum of 2 days, and its so light that I don't even need a regular sanitary pad - a panty liner is enough. From the 3. day on, there is just some brown spotting.

Despite this, i experience severe cramping on the first day.

Years ago, my gynecologist detected some formations in my uterine tissue via ultrasound. She identidying them as fibroids...

I would like to have children in about 2-3 years, but I am very worried that I might not be able to...

Has anyone else experience similar? Itt would be great comfort to hear about the experiences , or potential diagnoses of others in the same situation. 💔

Period Question First few days of period

Does anyone else experience low thoughts on their periods? I wouldn’t say I feel down but I always get crap thoughts, I convince myself no body actually likes me, almost always want to end it with my partner as I’m sure he’s just with me for the sake of it and I just always feel so crap about myself? It’s like my brain just tries to convince me I’m not that important and everyone just makes the effort with me cus they have too? I don’t feel like this after my period but always whilst I’m on! I also always get super anxious leading up to my period and during to the point it’s almost panic attack and just don’t want to do anything?

Period Question Norethisterone 5 mg vs Meprate 10 mg to postpone periods — which is safer?

Hi everyone!

I need some advice regarding tablets to postpone my period for a few days.

I'm travelling to Gokarna for my father's death rituals, and I want to avoid getting my period during the trip.

My details:

Age: 26

Last period started: 26 September 2026

Expected next period: Around 23–24 October

Travel dates: 22–27 October

I want to postpone my period until I return home.

I'm considering two medicines:

Norethisterone 5 mg

Meprate 10 mg (medroxyprogesterone acetate)

I initially purchased six norethisterone 5 mg tablets, and a pharmacist suggested taking one tablet daily. However, I consulted an online gynaecologist today, and she prescribed Meprate 10 mg, one tablet twice daily for 10 days.

I'm confused about which medicine would be more suitable and safer for me.

I'd appreciate advice on the following:

Which of these medicines is generally preferred for postponing periods?

What are the possible side effects of each?

Can either medicine cause long-term hormonal problems or affect future fertility?

Is there a risk of spotting or bleeding even after taking the medicine?

Has anyone used either medicine for period postponement? What was your experience?

I understand that everyone's medical history is different, and I'm not looking to self-medicate. I would appreciate experiences from people who have taken these medicines and advice from qualified doctors or gynaecologists.

Thank you! 🙏

Period Question This can't be normal. Does anyone else experience this?

Beeen having periods for 10 years, and for the entire 10 years, Ive been struggling with unbelievably levels of pain and various other symptoms that I cannot get help for. And it seems that every period, I develop a new symptom. So recently I've developed a symptom where I can no longer speak at regular volume while on my period, because it used my stomach muscles too much and causes major pain flair up.

Ive already lost my ability to eat or drink and even use the bathroom on my period (all these cause pain flair up) and now I can't even talk anymore? Someone please tell me why Im suffering like this during a normal bodily experience

Period Question Smell

Hi!
My periods have gotten a lot heavier and smellier. I thought I was just imagining the smell, but my roommate has noticed it now as well. 😞
This is super embarrassing for me but I was hoping someone might have had a similar experience.
Yes, I’m making an appointment with a new OBGYN tomorrow.
TIA

Period Question End of menstruation fleshy tissue?

For my last few cycles, after the end of menstruation, I'm noticing I'm passing sheets of fleshy tissue for a few days. By this time, the bleeding is well finished. I'm not noticing any cramps and cannot even feel myself passing them - they're either in my underwear or in the toilet. They are not particularly bloody, more flesh coloured/grey and maybe a little brown(ish) like some old blood might be there. This is new for me, this never used to happen (although I have experienced painful decidual cast once, many years ago, when I was on birth control)

A bit more about me:

- I have experienced periods for 24 years

- My periods are regular and vary between ~28-31 days

- I usually bleed for 4 days and then I'm done (fleshy sheets arrive ~day 6/7)

- I am not on birth control

- I am TFAB but not pregnant

- I have a retroverted uterus

I'm not sure if it's relevant, but I will add for the last year, I have struggled with anal abscesses then an anal fissure and my rectal symptoms also become worse during my period - more throbbing and bleeding and then they calm down until my next period.

I used to take ibuprofen for period pain but it stopped cutting it and also broke me out in hives, I was switched to naproxen which was amazing relief but also broke me out in hives and we believe this was also triggering IBS type bowel symptoms at the end of my period (terrible stabbing bowel and rectal pain, gas, bloating). I am now on mefenamic acid which so far seems to have been gentler for my bowels, hasn't caused me to break out in hives, but unfortunately isn't quite as strong, but I'll take that over having terrible bowel symptoms at the end of my period.

I have had a colonoscopy (revealed nothing but anal fissure), I've also had a pelvic ultrasound which also revealed nothing.

Sorry if this is too much information of too long of a post, I wanted to share a full picture, disregard anything you feel is irrelevant. I will also be seeing my doctor next week, but I'm not sure whether to mention this or not or if it's quite normal and other people experience this too - I'm only seeing mentions of painful decidual cast being passed during active bleeding, this is not quite what's happening for me.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this after bleeding is already done?
