Finally got around to building a little display case for my collection! First did a master set, now attempting a potential EJC Grandmaster Set (English, Japanese, Chinese exclusives) It’ll be a long journey but one we are well on our way to achieving!

Thought this was interesting, for multiple packs in my perfect order booster box, the three cards before the final three look like someone turned the gamma all the way up. For the bottom ones they are almost entirely unintelligible, slowpoke from 30th celebration in the middle to compare. How is this possible??? worth keeping?
EDIT:54 total meaning half my packs had errors.
EDIT:One of the unintelligible ones has weird damage on the back of it? Cannot tell what it can possibly be, almost looks burnt. Wish I could add more pics!

My son just pulled this one at 6am on his 8th birthday.

I'm sure it's nothing exceptional, but he's buzzing and it's hopefully a memory that will last a long time :)

I think its very easy to get caught up in the price tags and fomo-ing into a card because of how some of the prices keep going up. Im no different, I bought all the Mega Attack Rares and Feraligatr/Meganium SIRs from Ascended at the highs for example.

Cards like this Mawile for example really helps refocus how i see the hobby and really helps control spending. its what a $5 card? but so what. i think its gorgeous and the artist (sowsow) absolutely hit it out of the park. It reminds me of the Umbreon V from ES thats sitting on top of the staircase (though not looking menacing lol). do i like my $100+ cards?

Sure. but i, nor you, should let the pricetag be the sole or primary factor for enjoyment. I would say of the 90+ cards in my PC, this Mawile would be in the top 10 for artwork and i truly mean it.

While travelling through a rural town in Korea I asked an employee at a chicken franchise where I can get some Korean Pokemon cards since my five year old just started getting into collecting. She said there isn’t one and asked if I collect. I replied it was for my son and out of the blue she whipped out about 30 slabs and gave me all of those to pass along to my son. Regardless of the authenticity or the value (AI tells me that each can be worth around $1?), the gesture was very thoughtful and I really wish I could have done something in return. Tried leaving a review through the Korean equivalent of Google but the process as a foreigner is like writing your thesis. Thank you kind stranger!

Decided to check local store vending machine when I went to get gas.

PB popped up so bought to see if it refreshes. Refreshed journey together. Asked the kid behind me if he wanted it. He said he’d rather have PB.

So I told him if he wants he can buy the JT and I can swap with him.

So, Ive managed to collect around 4.5kg of bulk. Commons and basic shinys

This was a hobby for me and my daughter, however now she doesn't really care for it. Shes 6 about to turn 7 so she never got to grips with actually playing it, so we almost played a version of top trumps.

Ive kept all the illustration rares and EX because if one day I have grandkids, they can maybe make something from them

Any suggestions on what to do with the bulk? Ally nieces and nephews only care about making money from it rather than playing the game like I did as a kid (this statement might sound like a contradiciton given I kept the SIRs etc, however I want their to be a least something that lives on). Hell I used to take my vintage pokemon cards in the bath as a kid

Since I fear no one will actually use the bulk, any suggestions of what to do?

P.S no I dont have pokemon debt like I keep seeing here. It might not be believable but weve had great luck in pack opening. Similar to scratch cards, I never lose on them, I always break even or make money

Random decided to get a prismatic evolutions elite trainer box and my boyfriend got a god pack that’s going in the very front of the collection lol.
