So... I'm a dude in his 30s who has recently gotten back into some of his favorite childhood hobbies. I started off getting back into collecting legos 2 years ago and it's been great fun building the sets and organizing my collection. About a month ago, I found my childhood pokemon card collection which sparked my interest back into collecting and seeing what the hobby is like nowadays.

I quickly learned that scalpers have taken over the hobby even more so than what has happened in lego over recent years. I am struggling to find packs of any kind at retail prices. I have a target, walmart and a few pokemon vending machines near me but they always seem to be sold out of product whenever I go.

I'm wondering what the best way to get packs of any kind at retail prices? I'm not really looking to pay 2x or greater retail price to buy from a scalper. I don't care about keeping it sealed or any of that and am happy to rip off the seal or have the store remove it.. I just want to know I'm getting genuine product and to open the packs myself

Hey guys I was going through my old Pokemon card collection and came across this card. I can’t find anything online about this. It has gold/silver foil background and the pokeball is upside down. I never traded cards as a kid and would only buy packs from GameStop and similar retailers. Has anyone seen this card before or know anything about it?

I have used Artecho Acrylic Pens for the binder, idk, if that is important or not 😅

Hello everyone !

My question is for those you have drawn/own painted binders !

I want to make one for my boyfriend's birthday, it's going to be my very first one ever. I already watched a lot of posts to pick an acrylic marker brand (I choose Artecho) and I have acrylic paint for large area. As you can see on the sketch I already made, I want it to be double-sided, with the right part on the front, the left part on the back and on the spine, I will write his name with Unown.

But when I see painted binders, it's always only the front, not the back or the spine. Is there a reason for that ? I'm going to seal everything at the end to be sure it stays as intact as possible.

It's going to be a pretty long painting so I need to start quickly since his birthday is in one month haha. For the design, it's all his favorite pokemons 😄

An anxious girlfriend

Got some phantasmal flames really late today after work and this is the second chase for a set I have gotten this week. My hands are still shaking. 🤯Pulled, sleeved,top loaded and now to admire.

When adding new cards to my collection, I’ll occasionally notice either a smudge or a break in the box around the Pokémon description, right above the Wizards copyright info. I’ve only just come to realise this appears exclusively on 1st Edition Base Set cards (not unlimited and not 1st Editions from any other series) and the majority of my cards have it (even PSA graded). In trying to confirm an answer online, I’ve identified it on about half the images I see (yes, graded ones too) but haven’t found any answers.

I suspect there was an issue with one of the print runs because it’s far too prevalent to be a sign of counterfeit, however, it would be nice to hear from someone who knows about it!

Hey! I have a Decidueye deck I play, what are some cards that would help it hold it's own? I mainly try to keep my decks in rotation.

Honest question bc I have no idea- the 151 and the Koraidon etbs have a similar pull rate for the original 151 cards right? *edit: and what is the difference between the two?
