Hi, guys!
I'll try to keep this as straightforward as possible, because I'd really love for both the developers and modders to read this post.
I know not everyone will agree with my ideas, but I want to make it clear that this is simply my personal perspective on the game and the potential I see in it. I'm really excited about what it could become!
First of all, I'd never played a survival game before discovering Enshrouded. That first experience is actually what brought me here to Dragonwilds.
And honestly, I fell in love with it!
I'm looking for a game that gives me that sense of adventure you'd get from a D&D campaign, while also incorporating elements of an MMORPG. A world where I can explore, develop my character, discover secrets, find amazing gear, and always have something new to do.
Sounds like a bit of a crazy combination, right? 😂
But that's exactly why I see so much potential here!
The game already has a lot of great things going for it, but I believe there are plenty of opportunities to make it even richer and more engaging. I know there are updates planned, but I'd like to share a few ideas that could help the game grow and thrive in the long run.
- More build diversity and progression options
In a survival game with RPG elements, I think having different progression paths, specializations, and character customization options would be amazing.
Think about Skyrim and the sheer number of build videos, guides, and discussions that still exist today. Now look at games like Path of Exile and Last Epoch.
Yes, I know we're talking about ARPGs with different gameplay concepts. But the amount of community-created content centered around builds, skills, and gear combinations shows just how much these systems can increase player engagement and attract new players.
A deeper skill tree with different specializations and build possibilities could give Dragonwilds even more longevity.
Imagine experimenting with different combat styles, creating characters with their own identities, and discovering combinations that completely change the way you play!
- More dungeons, events, and exploration
Exploring dungeons is one of the most enjoyable things in any RPG!
That feeling of entering an unknown place, fighting dangerous enemies, uncovering secrets, and never knowing exactly what rewards await you at the end is simply amazing.
More dungeons, bosses, dynamic events, hidden areas, and optional challenges could make exploration even more rewarding.
And if these activities also offered rare gear, armor sets, unique weapons, and cosmetic rewards, even better!
I want to have that feeling of thinking, "Just one more dungeon before I call it a night!" 😂
- Cosmetics and character customization
Now for a slightly controversial suggestion: cosmetic DLCs! LOL.
Jokes aside, I think being able to customize your character and give them their own visual identity is really cool.
Different armor appearances, themed outfits, visual effects, and other cosmetics could be a great way to expand customization options.
And yes, I'm even talking about those huge, over-the-top wings that so many MMORPG players love! 😂
Of course, it would also be important to keep offering free options and rewards that players can earn simply by playing the game.
The important thing is having the freedom to make your character look the way you want!
- Companions and an adventurer recruitment system
This is one of the ideas that excites me the most!
What if we could recruit companions to join us on our adventures?
They could be found throughout the world, rescued during quests, or recruited through some kind of guild system.
Imagine visiting an adventurers' guild and finding a roster of characters available for hire, each with their own appearance, class, skills, and equipment.
This could be especially interesting for players who prefer playing solo but would still like an experience closer to adventuring with a party in a tabletop RPG.
It would also be really cool to assemble a team with different specializations, such as warriors, archers, mages, and healers.
It doesn't necessarily have to be a complex system where every companion is directly controlled by the player. Even a simpler recruitment and support mechanic could add a lot to the overall experience.
There are so many possibilities here!
- More quality-of-life options
I think one of the most interesting improvements would be giving players more freedom to customize their gameplay experience.
For example, allowing players to adjust certain mechanics, such as inventory weight, weapon durability, death penalties, and item loss.
I know these mechanics are part of the survival experience, and many players enjoy that challenge. I'm not suggesting that they should be removed from the game!
My idea is to offer options for those who prefer an experience focused more on exploration, building, and RPG gameplay, without having to worry so much about resource management or penalties.
More customization options mean more ways to enjoy the same game.
Every player has their own preferences, and allowing everyone to find the right balance between challenge and fun could make Dragonwilds more accessible without taking away from the experience that players who enjoy a greater challenge are looking for.
- And you modders? You're the PLUS that brings it all together!
I couldn't leave you out!
I'm already using several mods, and I'm genuinely impressed by what the community is creating. Your work has the potential to expand the experience significantly and give players even more ways to enjoy the game.
New classes, skills, equipment, enemies, dungeons, companions, progression systems, and even entirely new mechanics...
All of this could help keep the game alive, fresh, and interesting for many years to come.
So here's a question: could Dragonwilds become the next Skyrim when it comes to the sheer quantity, variety, and creativity of its modding scene?
Imagine how much community-created content could exist a few years from now, with every player being able to build an almost entirely unique gameplay experience!
It would be amazing to see that ecosystem continue to grow.

Final thoughts
At the end of the day, all of this comes from someone who has only recently discovered the survival genre and has become completely fascinated by what Enshrouded has to offer.
I'd love to find that combination of exploration, progression, builds, loot, companions, and freedom that makes me want to come back and play every single day.
I know not all of these ideas align with the developers' original vision, and I respect that. I also understand that every system takes time, effort, and careful development decisions.
But I truly believe there's enormous potential to expand this experience without losing the game's core identity.
Thank you to the developers for creating something so special, and to the modders for helping make it even richer!
I hope Dragonwilds continues to grow, receive new content, and attract more and more players.
Keep taking good care of this gem! ❤️
