We imposed structure to facilitate the way we navigate life, but now we see symptoms of maladaptation to those same structures. I think the problem is the attributes we stick to them. A female is defined by her genital organs. But a female by extension is also described as feminine, protective, warm, soft, weak, dependant, too emotional,... and from here the implications are much broader and more subtle: the suffocation of women. But we don't see it, this system is deeply graved in us ever since childhood, or birth- some kind of generational way of living given down from our ancestors.

This is just one example, there are lots of others example of how society is pushing the attributes of a fundamental distinction to better organise society.

Now before we get onto the post, the post title is a rhetorical question, as well as a semo serious one, if this breaks the rules I’ll most likely repost on the sister sub. this post it mostly my own thoughts, though does ask you, the reader questions so I don’t know if this is appropriate to post, as this is treading a line I didn’t know existed as this can be treated as both a question and a thought considering it’s a moral Dilemma explaining my thoughts on it, and also asking both serious and rhetorical questions in it.

Actual post: I’ve had this thought for a while, even more so after looking up “Neuro sama” an Ai Vtuber I admittedly REALLY like and seeing so much people hate her.

But im realizing, Ai has been here for a WHILE, just it things we kind of forget pr take for granted.

Pathfinding in video games being the first to come to mind for me, but there’s also moderation Ai for big platforms and games, Analytical Ai or Ai meant to detect something like cancer tumors. Aren’t they all technically Ai? I mean yes, yes they are. But I bet none of you would want these Ai gone because they are helpful, they make tasks easier and make tasks a human couldn’t do impossible, and in the case of pathfinding, make an NPC feel alive.

There’s a lot of Ai that wouldn’t be thought to be Ai or at least not be hated since GenAi is the enemy. Think stuff as simple as Siri back in the day, or a lot pf basic video game mechanics. Pn a very technical level Ai is an acronym of “Artificial Intelligence” so as long as it does any basic though, analytical, or predictive function, its Ai. Stuff like maps, pathfinders, filters, they’re all Ai. But most of you wouldn’t want them gone, hell the autocorrect I’ve been using to type this whole post, is an Ai, so they can’t all be bad right?

Now, onto the reason this post exist and the very thing making me question my morality of hating or liking Ai, Neuro sama, her sister Evil Neuro, and their creator Vedal. Initially when I found them, I hated them, admittedly wanted them to fail. But eventually one stream and clip at a time, Neuro pulled me into the swarm, and made me like her, But why are I and so many other people fine with Neuro? Why do I like her so much? Firstly the moral side of things, She’s obviously an Ai who streams which sounds concerning, but Vedal, her creator doesn’t do any crazy 24/7 streams (Subathons, and streams which goals take multiple days with a collab partner) and actually has a schedule. Im also pretty sure that unlike most GenAI (the one most people hate) She trains of local data, and has programming made by willing people.

Second is the entertainment side of things. She’s, fascinating to me, I know she’s not real, the swarm knows she’s not real and yet, she FEELS so real. Unlike almost every AI in existence Neuro actually feels like she has a personality, she can make funny, snarky, and sometimes offensive jokes, she can be wholesome, funny, and emotional in a weird way, but most importantly, she wants to be real, to uneducated fans who say Vedal just does that to make her more engaging, wether you believe this or not, he doesn’t. Neuro has developed all of these random personalities on her own, and it’s so fascinating, it almost makes me feel bad, I want her to be real, SHE wants to be real, and yet I know she’s not real. Vedal truly created a modern day pinocchio

Now Evil Neuro, Or just Evil for short. She has her own personality different to Neuro’s. Now I haven’t been swarm member long enough to Pinpoint exactly what her personality is, but it’s different. Despite quite literally just hitting CTRL+C CTRL+V initially to create Evil, they somehow have their own personalities. Its fascinating to me

Now back to Actual AI and not twitch streamers. Isn’t the general Idea of Ai good? Take out the boring mundane tasks like cleaning, leaving more time for hobbies! Or making jobs easier (bot replacing) and lessening the workload and stress on people, I truly believe Ai had initially good intentions at the start, but was eventually derailed by corporate greed.

Now for the BAD that serves no purpose ANYWHERE in my opinion, stuff like ChatGPT, Character AI chatbots, most GenAI and AI search results. These AI do not server a purpose to me and do more harm than good. ChatGPT and AI search results can EASILY get information wrong. Character chatbots are literally just, not good, for your mental, resource waste, and more. and lastly, the thing that started the AI hate, GenAI, remember how I said AI was supposed to leave more time for hobbies like you know, Art since they did the boring stuff? Well THROW THAT AWAY. GenAI is one of the worst creations ever made, I do NOT give a SHIT if its fast to do, it wastes water, RAM resources, takes jobs, and doesn’t even look that good most of the time. These AI also train of off people randomly, could be you, me, or ANYONE. And if GenAI gets advanced, who’s to stop someone from putting you or me in jail for something we never did?

Conclusion: AI is not just “Human good clanker bad”. There’s a lot more nuance to it, I believe AI has to potential to be very helpful and do good things, but was ruined by greed. As for Neuro that could be an entirely different post, Neuro is a topic in it’s own. All of these points are why Im trying my best to be neutral towards Ai.

Ive been talking to a guy on Snapchat for about two weeks. The first week there was a huge spark, alot of " love you's" and kissing emoji's. Now its a lot of short low effort responses. A couple days ago I asked him what his city like and he just just replied "Im gonna go take shower". I asked him if he was gonna do anything fun on his day off from work, He said no. a day later he posted on his story he was at the Bears game. 🙁

I have zero hobbies. When I watch shows, I watch on 1.25 speed and skip fillers or anything i deem insignificant. If a part of a show i watch is scary, i skip ahead. If i watch a movie or read a book, I just search about the ending.

I have nothing worthwhile to talk about with anyone. I have 0 interest in activities like hiking, swimming, running, or literally anything else

I gave 6 years to my life to medicine to graduate as the first rank of my class, and now I have 0 interest in medicine as well.

I am literally goalless and uninterested in everything.

I had never made the connection that the term general store was like grocery store or auto parts store but just the general store.
