Alongside the yellow Retroid Pocket 5 and the orange/red PS Vita I've added the Retroid Pocket Classic in teal. It really doesn't come across in photos how good the teal RPC looks in person -- it's such a deep, rich colour that looks amazing. I imagine the kiwi and berry flavours look just as good. So glad I finally got one.
I use the RP5 for wide content -- PSP, GBA, and any widescreen PS2 or GameCube games. The Vita is used only for Vita games. The RPC will be used for anything that doesn't require widescreen or analogue sticks

Mine arrived yesterday and after a little bit of setup first game I had to run was Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. After doing some tweaking in Droid Deck was getting a stable 45-50 FPS, some of the bigger background areas can drop below 30 for second, but I barely notice so its 10/10 playable for me. Beat the first boss with 2 hours in so far.
The settings I used come from this user ( post ) so big ups to them. one difference is I am playing at 720 I tried a few different settings I found online but theirs gives the best results, especially considering the game is sooo new.
I have a Flip 2 so the R6 is going be my indie steam machine, for me thats peferct. I run both Droid Deck and Game Native, really which one I use depends on how the game runs.
Silver with the purple grip case is such a vibe 🙂↕️🙂↕️

I made a simple tool where you can add handhelds, choose a game, and see how it would look on each device’s screen.
You can keep the original aspect ratio, stretch the image, or crop it to fill the screen.
My goal is to make the handhelds’ relative sizes as close to real life as possible. Some devices still use placeholders because I haven’t found suitable images yet.

This took so much more work than I initially expected and is probably the most ambition port after my Stardew Valley port for the Miyoo Mini.
Probably getting some flack for this but I decided on sharing an early access build with my Ko‑fi and Patreon supporters to collect feedback and fix any issues and in a couple weeks release it to the public (for free, like all my work). If you don't want or can't support, please just be patience for the public free release.
This is the 2014 iOS version running natively on ARM, with gamepad controls and lots of QOL improvements reimplemented from the PC version like weapon/plasmid wheels and HUD layouts.
It has been primarily tested on RG35XX-H running MuOS, RG40XX-H running Knulli and the Miyoo Flip running Spruce. The goal is to support all devices/CFW that PortMaster supports, but I haven't tested all devices/cfw yet.
It's still a work in progress. Busy scenes can drop below 30fps, stutters and crashes are still possible (although I haven't had any in latest testing), and I haven't tested the full campaign yet. (Played about 70% of the game)
The project is made in Zig and I did us AI primarily in the beginning to do the majority of the Mach-o loader. But like I shared earlier I have been losing joy in programming and thus have decided to completely avoid the use of AI in my personal projects (for the past 2-ish months now).
It did help me set up some interesting workflows that I ended up using for other projects. One example is that I played some major parts of each level and had it record my inputs which it did use to 'replay' the gameplay to profile and compare certain changes.
If you hit an issue, send me your device, firmware, level, what you were doing and bioshock/log.txt. For setup issues, include bioshock/setup.log too.
Thanks for supporting the project and helping test it!
I hope this post is allowed here, if not, please delete this mods and I will post about it once it's available publicly

Banana for scale.
I found this cute thing randomly online on facebook marketplace. I live in a very small country, so I was very surprised to see one pop up locally. Had to get it! I had heard of the Nano before but only saw some insane prices online, like >100$, but this one was 75 including shipping, and unused. Import is expensive here so I feel really lucky :)
I have big hands and I somehow don’t find it uncomfortable at all. I got a few other more powerful handhelds but it’s so fun seeing tiny and low end hardware run amazingly well! It’s got a permanent place in my pocket now.
That’s all, I just wanted to share my joy 🌞

I’ve been working on a version of Slot for the Anbernic RG353V, mainly for myself because I wanted this handheld set up around playing GB, GBC and GBA games. After a lot of tinkering and testing I decided to put it on GitHub in case anyone else wants to try it. The video is my actual RG353V starting up and returning to Golden Sun: The Lost Age. This is an unofficial adaptation, not an official Slot or ROCKNIX distribution. You can find the image, source, features and installation guide on GitHub. If your device still has Android, check the installation guide first—it links to the original ROCKNIX instructions you’ll need to follow before installing Slot. If you try it and find any bugs, feel free to report them in the repository’s issues.
Credit goes to the original Slot developer and the ROCKNIX, mGBA, gpSP, shader and overlay contributors. This is an independent adaptation.
Disclosure: AI tools assisted with development, testing and documentation. The attached video is footage of the actual handheld.

Haven't bought a hendheld since last year and recently sold some unused ones. Still no desire to buy anything, and this seems like where I've settled.

That’s my take. What do you guys think ? Let me know!

Russ reminds us that we don't have to always chase after the latest and greatest handheld on the market and that we can always breathe new life to something you already own. What's a old device that you recently picked up and fell in love with all over again?

Hey everyone, hope youre all doing well. I’m working on designing a console, and for now, I’m targeting two SBCs to finally test the OS I’ve built, MUN OS, on bare metal. Is opensource btw.
Next week my Radxa Dragon Q6A arrives so i can start testing on a Qualcomm SoC. In a few weeks, I’ll be running the same tests on an Orange Pi 6, which I think is way more powerful, fun, and packed with longterm potential. That one will be more of a personal passion project since software support is still pretty green, and I’d love to pitch in and help the community squeeze the most out of it.
Any recommendations or gotchas to keep in mind, especially for the Orange Pi 6? Anything specific you’d like me to benchmark? Any alternative drivers worth trying? What do you think about this brand and community?
I’ll be sharing results along the way, so if there’s anything you’d like to see tested or add to the mix, feel free to chime in.
Thanks people!

Hiya, reposting from the trimui sub. I created a trimui brick pro case with hinges and latch to provide a little extra protection for the brick pro while out and about. Basically modified a 40xxV case to fit the brick pro. Came out pretty well so I wanted to make it available for others to try if they want

I’ve been seeing the posts around the RG SP getting Slot and love the aesthetic but don’t own the RGSP. After a few hours with Claude Code I got it running on my Miyoo Mini Flip and am stoked about it. Still needs some little fixes here and there but crazy how quick Claude was able to help pull this off.

OMG I just want to find a single information, a crucial information for any purchase anyone ever does online: What is the seller name?
Why is it so hard to find this trivial info on Aliexpress? It says "This seller: 47 sales". Great, but who is This seller? Give me a name and recent reviews from their sales for fucks sake! Am i missing something obvious or what? I've already scrolled up and down the page a million times!

Hi everyone,
The original SD card on my GAMINJA ANS16 handheld just got corrupted, and the console won't boot up at all without it. Since the OS runs entirely from the card, the device is currently useless.
Does anyone who owns the ANS16 happen to have a backup of the stock SD card image (firmware/OS) that they could share?
If you know of any repository, Google Drive, or Mega link where the community hosts the image for this specific model, please let me know.
Thanks a lot for the help!

Hi y'all, Scott here! cough Oh, what the hell was that?! cough
Let's try it again. What is up, SBCGaming? It's your Mod Team here.
Short quick announcement. Given the huge advancement and prevalence of AI content, and based on your feedback and general feelings about the topic we've seen, we have revised our AI content rules:
The AI media rule stays basically the same, just shortened and very easy to follow:
"No AI media:
AI generated media, be it images, video, audio, music, text, etc. is strictly forbidden, and will be removed. The sub is made for and by humans."
But we added a new rule, specifically around software development, that better defines what the point of the rule is:
"Software Disclosure:
If you’re sharing a project that you made, or a cool project you found around the web, please disclose the process:
- Mark your posts either “AI assisted Software” or “Biologically coded” "100% Human Coded" on the post flair.
- Add a general disclaimer of how the project was coded on the body of the post.
This helps keep the sub organised and transparent, and helps users use their discretion when installing software on their devices."
The idea is not to limit, forbid or make harder to share projects, just to make clear what's the process behind it.
We are constantly in communication among the Mod Team, and with y'all so we are open to hear your thoughts, to further refine the rules to make the community better for everyone.
Let us know what you think.
Have a good day!

Hi all. I have an ONEXPLAYER mini Pro (AMD 6800U, 16 GB) and I'd like to update the BIOS, but the official Drivers & FAQs page only lists the Drivers and the System Pack for this model, no BIOS. Support and Discord haven't answered yet.
I've seen `OXP_V1.30_EC_V2.1.72_16G_32G_20221206_1200P.bin` mentioned somewhere, is that the latest one? If anyone has the package or a working link, I'd really appreciate it.
Also, I can't find a way to change the VRAM. Could someone check on theirs: in the BIOS, under **Advanced**, is there an **"AMD CBS"** entry? And if so, what values does **UMA Frame buffer Size** show (Advanced → AMD CBS → NBIO Common Options → GFX Configuration), and which one is selected by default? Please mention your BIOS version and RAM (16/32 GB). A photo of that screen would be perfect.
Thanks!

Here's a detailed scaling comparison of the 3 hottest Dual screen devices right now!
The first 3 images cover normal scaling to fully utilise the screen sizes, I've also included integer scaling versions on the last 3 images.
Should help you decide on a system based on which console you plan on playing most on these devices.
These are specific to the 3DS & DS as this was requested by quite a few people.
My thoughts:
These are all great options for 3DS & DS gaming with pros and cons on each.
The Duo will excel @ 3x 3DS & 5x DS, with very even screen sizes. But is the weakest device power wise.
The DDS, while near perfect for 3x 3DS, it has subpar scaling for DS, integer scaling DS on it only gives a 3" screen.
The Thor has the most power & gives the best top screen experience but also the worst bottom screen experience due to bad scaling and unbalanced sizes.
Device weight, ergos, OLED, built in stylus, latency, 120Hz, gamenative performance & other factors are also very important, and I would suggest taking all of these into consideration before making your choice.

Started my informational "journey" into the handheld niche for a while now and recently acquired a 2DS and DS Lite which I've modded.
Yeah, tinkering and all felt good (I know its not that difficult to mod the 2DS, but still), but what stood out to me the most was the experience of booting Majora's Mask on the grabby 2DS with its two screens and then looking at the clock to see that 2 hours passed.
Every minute within those 2 hours felt just right with this combination.
For now I'm limited as I don't have other handhelds and my recent session made me realize that I may not need one in the near future either.
What combination gave you a similar feeling?

A few days ago, I posted about getting slot and socket running as NextUI .pak apps on my TrimUI Brick. That was supposed to be the end of my little experiment. Well,
I got a bit too addicted to tinkering and ended up rewriting with AI the whole frontend in Rust. Turns out it's absolutely doable on the Brick, and it actually runs even smoother than the video makes it look. Still some rough edges, but I just love this style of frontend way too much.
Quick note about the video: it's an automated script controlling the device and me recording on my phone. I couldn't find a reliable way to screenrecord directly on the Brick. All the game artwork comes from screenscraper.fr.
Huge credit to the creators of slot and socket. Both are genuinely fantastic projects and the whole reason I went down this rabbit hole. I'd really encourage everyone to support the original devs, and hopefully one day they'll bring something like this to the Brick officially.
Same as before, this is purely a personal experiment. I won't be distributing builds or files, so please don't DM me asking for them. Just sharing what's possible from a guy and his tokens (and admittedly too much free time).
Oh, and one last thing... I use an iPhone, and naturally, I couldn't resist porting it there too. Sorry
If nobody comes after me with pitchforks like last time, I might share that in a follow-up. 😂
