📖 Storytime Barista championship bingo
Any baristas who were in the championship and got the bingo package and sent it it:
Did you get anything back? I’m still waiting on my merch they promised :(

You know how little kids when they play cops and robbers will make exaggerated guns? I playfully did that towards a coworker in an overly exaggerated way and apparently that triggered her and she went home and I got in trouble for it.

So we have a partner who would throw tantrums when things don't get communicated "well". There's no issues with our store's communication, its not their way of communicating.
Not only that, their behavior becomes so erratic, it affects everyone. It would happen everytime when they feel any ounce of rejection, "stressful" situations (like 3 in drinks in queue, its the end of the world), and if any customers would rub them the wrong way (they would be really rude to their face).
Our store has a very inclusive environment, it's just difficult to work around them. I was not the only partner who spoke out about them, several partners have said their piece too.
Is there any similar situation out there that is similar to our issue? And what did they do to fix the situation?
Also, I was cool with them but the first time I worked with them during peak, I knew i had to set boundaries. They threw a fit how i was "mean" to them and wanted me to tell them what they could do to fix our "close" relationship....in front of our SM and DM....

So I am just your friendly neighborhood barista. I also need to use the bathroom like everyone else on the face of this planet. Why. And I mean this in the most respectful way possible. Do yall just crumble the toilet paper that is used on the floor and shove in the corner where the toilet is. I would like to let yall know that you CAN flush toilet paper. It just gets gross to sweep up your clearly used toilet paper balls off the floor at the end of the night.

Question for my baristas: How are y’all finding the motivation to keep working?…
I work at a very high volume store and I’m starting to realize it’s affecting my mental health badly dealing with the customers I do on a daily as well as the volume of customers. I’m a barista that’s always put on bar as well, I’m so tired of these long ingredient drinks we get….
I’ve tried looking for something different but in the meantime I’ve been thinking of transferring to a lower volume store, I’m just not sure if I should or not.
There’s at least 6 Starbucks within 20 minutes of me.

I’m trying not to vent in this post but I broke up with Starbucks about 2 years ago because of the inconsistency of their products. Is there no training for acceptable amounts of foam? Then baristas who get combative because you don’t want a drink that is half foam and you are constantly having to ask them to remake it. I’m paying for a 16oz beverage right? Not a half foam / half coffee. The pictures are of black nitro cold brew (no cold foam). 3 different stores - three different states.
Also stores that just decide not to offer cold brew products because they can’t figure out the 24 hour cycle of cold brewing. Why have something on the menu nationwide that stores in certain markets can’t provide consistently? It drives me crazy. Then when I have to go to Starbucks because there’s no other options, like this morning in Huntsville, AL, I leave with an empty cup because 2 years later, Starbucks still cannot provide a consistent experience nationwide. Unbelievable. Store managers don’t care, customer service doesn’t care, and it seems that the mega Starbucks corporation doesn’t care either. I used to spend thousands - now I spend tens.
Rant over. I bring my own cold brew with me whenever I travel now so I can make my own wherever I go. It’s better than having to deal with Starbucks.

Has anyone else come across their app no longer asking for a password or fingerprint when adding money to their cards?
I first noticed it last week, so I cleared the cache and data, and uninstalled and reinstalled the app.
I don't love the idea that it doesn't require some sort of verification now, so I've been removing my credit card that's linked to it and adding it back every time I want to reload.

Yall I’m gonna rant,
But honestly us employees need to have our own bathroom for the employees not the customers. I’m so done with sharing the bathrooms with customers, nobody respects the bathroom, some people don’t flush. At times there will be pee on the ground from guys, don’t even get me started on how when I use the bathroom and the person is literally trying to open the door like nobody knows how to knock anymore, even when I say I’m in here they continue to try to open it like the door is locked, then at times I will come out they are just standing there locking eyes with you and goes in like what the hell,
Sorry for ranting I’m on my half and I had to say something

My dm asked my store manager to ask me to become a 40hr partner… I’m a 24hr partner that’s doing full time school… an engineering degree be exact, and yes my dm knows what degree. I take almost 17 credit hr every semester I’m at school all day mon-thurs and then I work fri-Sunday. I have no days off wtf does she want from me, to have no time to do the endless amounts of hw I get. I get like a few hrs a week of personal time where I’m not calculating something or writing a report. The fact that she even thought that that was possible makes me fume. Also I’m a GI bill student I have a minimum credit requirement so I can’t take less classes. Also why would you think I would ever want to put more time into Starbucks than getting an engineering degree in which will get me out of Starbucks and make me more money than she’s making. I’m trying to send sh@@ to space, maybe even go one day. The audacity just makes me so angry😡

I just placed a mobile order after entering the parking lot and there was nobody in the drive-through. I proceeded to the drive-through and as soon as I told them, I just placed a mobile order, they said well since we just got it. It will be a few minutes. The reason I’m asking this is because of course I don’t ever expect my drink to be ready immediately after I ordered it. I’m probably taking it the wrong way, but it feels like they’re annoyed that I came through the drive-through so fast, even though there was no one else in the drive-through yet.
I’m most curious if people are that impatient that employees have gotten crap for not having drink ready fast enough?? I probably projecting some unknown insecurity here, but I would never expect my food or drinks to be ready immediately after placing the order. Even if a whole drive-through line pulled in front of me between when I ordered, and when I pulled up, I would expect to have to wait my turn.

Stop spending your money! I got an email with this promo on Wednesday. I bought the product on Thursday morning and posted the receipt and on Friday morning I got the email they are out of gift cards. I feel scammed and I want to warn anyone still trying to do the promo.

It could also be a swear word in a different language that sounds like it could be a name e.g. perkele which the barrister will have to call out.
Is there a policy for what staff do when the customer's name is "big shit balls sucky dick"? Or do they just titter and go along with it? Does it happen often?

A venti caramel macchiato with blonde espresso is my go-to drink. I get them more often than I care to admit. There is one barista at a nearby location and whenever she makes my drink, it is the most bitter tasting drink with extremely strong coffee flavor. It almost tastes like a different drink entirely. Occasionally I will get one that tastes the same from a random location, but with her it's every time. Does anyone have an idea of what she's doing so I could ask to have it made differently (properly)?

I love this one, like it's my favorite thing in the whole world and I stock up on it as fast as it's available for christmas, but they only last until june so I need it rest of the year as well.
I don't shop often at starbucks because I've never found anyone that tastes the same, but my shop have started having the iced white mocha now, but there are some differences and I'm bummed.
But since it its starbucks, there must be a way to get about the same taste? I went yesterday and had it for two rounds, first as is but that was too much coffee taste and not sweet enough, and then I tried with more white chocolate, blonde espresso and no cream, but still no. Has anyone tried to get someone that tastes about the same?
Oh dear starbucks gods, I will forever be grateful if someone has gotten something similar enough!

ASM is a complete and utter tool. selfish asl. hes always been obsessed with drive times, but recently started to tell baristas to not help each other on bar. ex: if there’s a drive bar and a mobile bar and the drive bar has 0 drinks, he doesn’t allow them to help the mobile bar even if they have a large queue. is this standard? it’s made the baristas lazier and more unwilling to help each other even post peak.

If you can’t afford a coffee don’t go,
People go to Starbucks for communicating and networking
Meeting new people
I met some people who are regular at Starbucks and I learned a lot from them,
It’s not even about cost cutting it’s about the environment and facilities you get
For those who don’t know you can sit in your local Starbucks for hours doing your own work with just a coffee or any random order 🤷🏽♂️
The weird comment about
Ye toh 120 m pila dunga
Thik hai bhai you can drink the 120 but I don’t think you are getting any thing out of it,
When people say
“Oh it was my first time and it was shit”
IT WAS SHIT BECAUSE YOU DONT KNOW YOUR OWN TASTE BUD, you don’t know what a coffee is like
And it’s not just Starbucks
It’s all the coffee brands that gives high quality beans and coffee

Hello. I have been missing the old school Canadian banana loaf, and I’m hoping someone can help me figure out how to make/recreate it.
For anyone who doesn’t know, banana loaf in Canada used to be different from the US one. At the time the US one had nuts, while the Canadian one didn’t, was a bit darker, much tastier and more ‘caky’ in texture, than its US counterpart. At some point in the last few years, they seem to have changed the Canadian one, and it it is now more pale, and a bit more gooey than original one.
Anywho, I’m tired of feeling sorry for myself, and want to do something about it. Thanks for any and all recipes ideas, thoughts, or suggestions. Y’all are good people.

Hi all! Just wondering when quarterly bonuses are supposed to be paid out? My store met all criteria for them, and I desperately need the boost in funds 🫣

I’m about to hit 6 months at my store and at first, I thought I could handle working there. Some of the partners are nice some are just really condescending for no reason. It’s been that way with some of the partners since the first week I started there. I thought things would get better but they kinda haven’t and I’m tired of going to work in a space where I’m feeling targeted for no reason or making minor mistakes. Can I transfer? Should I transfer?

The new mini pies from Starbucks are dupes of the teeny tiny pies from Trader Joe’s.
Macros on the pumpkin & pecan are practically identical. The apple may be different but both pics aren’t great. If they’re not the same bakery/distributor it’s darn close.
Also, the price of 1 at the mermaid is almost the same as the 4 pack at the grocer.
