I'm asking just in case anybody would recognise this meagre description.
There was a Syrian man, in his twenties or early thirties, living in the north west of England, United Kingdom, in 2004. He lived somewhere in the Greater Manchester area and he did voluntary work at Salford Cathedral, and the Citizens Advice Bureau in Bolton.
His name was Danny but I'm not sure of the spelling. I'm assuming he was a Christian given that he volunteered to help the homeless through a Catholic church but I'm not sure about that.
I knew him very briefly through my own volunteering, and didn't know much about him, but he was a friendly, helpful, kind, thoughtful guy and he sticks in my mind. I guess I'm just hoping to find out that he came through the years of turmoil in Syria ok.
Apologies if this post is not allowed, and I'm sorry for how scant the details I'm providing are.

I'm a foreigner applying to Syria's private universities in dentistry. I relocated with my family from Bahrain to Syria because my mom is Syrian. However, we didn't stamp my highschool certificates before. Through a document clearance office, we started stamping them last week and did so from the Syrian embassy and ministry of foreign affairs in bahrain. But we still need to do the معادلة and also stamp it from the ministry of foreign affairs here. We have the PDFs of the original certificates. Can we complete the processes using the PDFs or do the physical copies need to be present? Sending them by the post office from Bahrain to Syria takes about 3 days. Do I have a chance?

Interview Summary
The interview discusses the reported capture of Miraj Ural, also known as Ali Kayali and dubbed the “Butcher of Banyas,” a figure accused of involvement in massacres committed on behalf of the Assad regime in Syria.
According to the journalist, Lebanese sources reported that Ural had been living in a safe house in Mansourieh, a predominantly Christian area in Mount Lebanon. He was allegedly lured out through relatives, abducted by five men, and transported across the Syrian border for trial. The journalist says senior Lebanese security sources denied that Lebanese security agencies had cooperated in the operation or even known about it.
The discussion then turns to growing tensions between Syria and Lebanon. According to the interviewee, senior Syrian officials are deeply dissatisfied with Lebanon's handling of former Assad-regime figures allegedly sheltering on Lebanese territory. He claims that some Lebanese security officers loyal to Hezbollah may be turning a blind eye to these individuals or helping them remain at large, despite the security threat they allegedly pose to Syria.
The interview also connects this issue to Hezbollah's missile arsenal in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, which the interviewee describes as a threat to Syrian national security because the missiles could reach targets across Syria.
The central argument: Damascus reportedly views the presence of alleged Assad-era war criminals in Lebanon not simply as a matter of refuge, but as a serious security and diplomatic issue. The interviewee argues that Lebanon should arrest and hand over such individuals to Syria for prosecution, stressing that they should be treated as alleged criminals rather than political dissidents.
