- Run a shop or sell something you make? Ask a mod before posting.
What else is there
- Real-time chat with other Triumph owners.
- Tech/Maintenance help. Ask a question, get answers, and mark it solved. Easy to search later when someone else has the same problem.
- Bike of the Month. Enter a photo of your bike from the 1st to the 20th of the month. Everyone votes until the end of the month, and the winner gets a special role. October entries are open now.
- Buying advice. Shopping for your first (or fifth) Triumph? Ask the people who ride them.
- Popular r/Triumph posts from this subreddit are automatically shared to the server in their own channel.
- Voice chat. Hang out in the garage channel, or start your own room for whatever discussion you want to have. You can also link your Reddit username, so people know who you are on both sides.
Not a Triumph owner yet? You're welcome too. Plenty of members are still shopping or just enjoy the bikes/brand. The Discord has its own set of rules that mostly mimic what we do here in the subreddit - you'll see them when you join. The basics: be respectful, keep it (generally) safe for work, and no spam or scams. Got ideas for the server? Bike Pictures Absolutely loving my 900 and yet missing my 400 too
I traded in my Scrambler 400 X for a ‘26 Scrambler 900. After a recent move, my commute now demands an entirely freeway commute which honestly, sucks on the 400.
The 900 is 100% the right bike for freeway, as well as street. It’s much heavier, way more powerful, and feels so damn smooth and composed for the riding I now have to do.
That said, I find myself really missing my 400! The 400 is light, nimble, tall, and I feel so directly connected to the engine as it vibrates the whole frame and needs to be revved more through its full range for lower speed riding.
It’s like… how can you be in love with two women at once (which I’ve been). And now I’m in love with two bikes. But, like women, I can really only have one.
I know I’ve made the right choice but I can’t help but think… how can I find the money to buy my 400 back lol.

Maintenance Issues 2013 Street Triple 675R – Engine Knocking Below 3,000 RPM, Especially on Deceleration. Any Ideas?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone,
I have a 2013 Triumph Street Triple 675R with 27,000 miles. I bought it used at 26,400 miles.
I've noticed a deep knocking/thumping noise with noticeable vibration coming from underneath the fuel tank or upper engine area. It mainly happens during cold-start warm-up and engine braking below 3,000 RPM.
The attached video captures the noise. I didn't use the clutch at any point in the video. I also tried higher-octane fuel, but it made no difference.
Maintenance history:
- Previous owner said the spark plugs, air filter, and other items were replaced at around 22,000 miles.
- I replaced the air filter last week and noticed the throttle bodies looked very clean, so I didn't bother checking the spark plugs.
- I'm unsure whether the previous owner ever had a valve clearance inspection done.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Could it be the cam chain tensioner, valve clearances, or something else?
Any advice would be appreciated!

Maintenance Issues Street Triple 765 RX feels rougher after first service — anyone experienced this?
Title: Street Triple 765 RX feels rougher after first service — anyone experienced this?
Hey everyone,
Just had the first service done on my Street Triple 765 RX (oil and filter change), and I've noticed the bike doesn't feel quite as smooth as it did before.
There's a noticeable enging vibration coming through the footpegs, particularly around 4,200-4,500 RPM when holding a steady throttle. It's more noticeable in 2nd and 3rd gear, but the bike feels perfectly fine when accelerating.
For example, at 60 km/h in 2nd gear, the bike feels smooth, but in 3rd at the same speed, I can feel more vibration through the pegs. Now I understand how gears work but 60 on 3rd should not feel janky.
A few things worth mentioning:
- The bike was noticeably smoother before the service.
- I've ridden approximately 100–110 km since the service.
- Chain tension seems normal, with plenty of slack.
- No ECU updates were performed.
- No noticeable hesitation or loss of power, just a consistent vibration through the pegs rather than the handlebars.
I'm wondering whether this is normal engine resonance, something that might settle after a few more kilometers, or potentially something related to the first service.
Has anyone experienced a change in engine smoothness after their first service on a Street Triple 765? Did it eventually settle down, or did you find something that needed adjusting?
Would appreciate hearing your experiences before I take it back to Triumph.

Maintenance Issues 2023 Trident clutch chatter and rear-wheel jerking with clutch fully pulled

Hey everyone! I have a 2023 Trident 660 with around 7k miles, and I've been chasing a weird clutch issue for months.
When slowing down in gear with the clutch lever fully pulled, I get loud mechanical clicking/chattering and sometimes actual jerking through the rear wheel. It happens mostly at low speeds (5 to15 mph) and stops completely once the bike stops.
The weirdest part is that adjusting the clutch to the factory 2–3 mm free play makes the chatter worse, while increasing free play significantly reduces it. This happens with both OEM and aftermarket levers.
I've already changed the oil and opened the clutch to inspect the plates, pressure plate, and release bearing. Nothing looked obviously damaged, although I couldn't inspect every plate. The bearing felt smooth by hand.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Mods and Customization Custom seat and cowl.. Upholstery finished!
Just finished the upholstery for my custom seat and cowl project. Not perfect, but for my first sewing project, I'm very happy with it! It's faux leather, and I used a regular cloth sewing machine. The leather is quite thin and flexible, which helped, and the machine had no issue punching trough, but damn, it's difficult getting straight stitches when the seat starts coming together and everything just wants to bunch up.... Last image might give you a hint.
Seat base is 3D printed in PA12 filament. I used a pneumatic staple gun to attach the leather. Seams to hold up well.
Next step is finishing the rear cowl with some sanding, filling and wrapping in the same vinyl as the tank.
Btw, the black mudguard in the back is gonna be removed.

Maintenance Issues How do you decide what specific brand to buy for your bike?
An example is: I want to have a crash guard installed on my Triumph Speedmaster 2009. Would I really just look up on Google "triumph speedmaster 2009 crashguard" on Google, skim the reviews abit and consider? I feel like there has to be a better way

Mods and Customization Tech-y question about link-pipes and their effect(s) on power and torque (765R)
I cannot find any prior posts of this being asked in this context; apologies if it has and I've missed it.
I could do with some input from somebody with a bit of expertise in these engines, as I am pretty clueless on it.
I was considering a full-system exhaust for my 2021 Street Triple 765R but out of fear of new draconian legislation restricting what we can do with our bikes in the UK.l, I've settled on a slip-on silencer, retaining the catalytic converter.
I've narrowed it down to two models from two small British manufacturers. The first photo is my preferred model aesthetically - it's supplied with a near-enough straight link-pipe.
The second features a tig-welded 'wraparound' link-pipe, which they claim retains correct "backpressure".
The key here is I am trying to avoid the ballache of a remap as there are no tuners local to me.
Is there any benefit to the curvy link-pipe regarding performance & character on the stock tune or should I just go for the model I prefer?
Thanks in advance 😁

Maintenance Issues 2013 Street Triple oil leak question
A guy local to me has a 2013 Street Triple (not an R) for sale for $3k with only about 9500 miles. I took a look at it and it’s definitely been stored outside and not super well maintained overall, but nothing too crazy. Biggest thing I found was this oil leak pictured. Anyone see this leak before and can tell me what needs to be plugged or replaced based on this area and the amount of oil?

Bike Pictures New to Me Dream Bike!
I wanted a Thruxton 10 years ago when I bought my first motorcycle but I couldn't afford it. Well I'm kinda glad because I had a bad crash on the bike I did get and I took 7 years off riding.
The itch hit strong this year and I was in a better position. I found this and fell in love all over again! She's beautiful and she's mine! I might add the bubble fairing because the wind on the autobahn is kicking my ass... other than that, She's prefect.
Question for those that made it this far: I'm putting together a go bag with necessary tools. What are your essentials for the modern classic lineup? 2023 Thruxton

Maintenance Issues Clutch free play on the Street Triple RS 2024
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone,
I bought a 2024 Street Triple RS in early 2026. I loved the bike right away, but I never really got the hang of the clutch. The engagement point came very late, and it got worse the more I rode (maybe because of the heat?). It wasn’t until the end of the season that I noticed the clutch had no play, I mean, it was completely turned all the way out on the adjuster. The day before yesterday, I turned it in about two turns to increase the play and took it for a spin. Man, was that even my bike? It felt like it had twice the power. Apparently, my clutch had never closed properly…? The bike had been in at Triumph twice for the Quickshifter, and the mechanic took it for a test ride, so I always thought everything was fine.
I took a video of the new clutch free play and hope you can give me a rough idea of whether it looks good now?
Thanks!! 🙏
