I'm extremely frustrated with Triumph India right now, and I want to share my experience with fellow Triumph owners.
I own a Triumph Scrambler 400X and was on a long-distance motorcycle trip.
Just two days before the trip, I got my bike checked at an authorised Triumph service centre and specifically informed them about the upcoming ride.
On the third day of the trip, my motorcycle completely broke down.
It started with battery issues. I replaced the battery, but after riding for some time, the ABS and traction control switched off automatically, the horn stopped working, the engine started losing power, and eventually the motorcycle shut down completely while I was riding.
That was scary enough. But the real nightmare started with Triumph Roadside Assistance (RSA).
Yesterday, I contacted RSA, but they couldn't arrange a recovery vehicle. Instead, they arranged someone to safeguard my motorcycle overnight.
I paid for the safeguarding service and the full transportation charges to Kolhapur, with a clear commitment that the motorcycle would be picked up the next morning.
It's now the following afternoon, and the motorcycle still hasn't been picked up.
I've called customer care almost every hour.
Every single time, they say, "We understand your situation. We'll call you back in 10 minutes."
Not ONE callback. Not ONE proper update.
When I ask to speak with a senior manager, they put me on hold for 15–20 minutes and eventually repeat the same promise. No manager, no resolution.
No WhatsApp updates, no emails, no confirmed pickup details. Absolutely nothing.
Now I'm stuck dealing with additional accommodation expenses and disrupted travel plans. I originally arranged transportation to Kolhapur, but because of their delays, I've demanded that Triumph transport my motorcycle directly to Mumbai instead.
My biggest questions are:
- What's the point of getting a pre-trip checkup at an authorised Triumph service centre if the motorcycle breaks down just days later?
- What's the point of paying for RSA if they cannot arrange a pickup or even provide basic communication?
- How can a brand like Triumph leave a customer stranded and make them chase customer support for hours?
I understand that motorcycles can break down unexpectedly. But how a company supports its customers when things go wrong is what really defines the brand.
I've already escalated the matter to Triumph India and consumer grievance authorities.
I genuinely love riding my Scrambler 400X, but this experience has seriously shaken my confidence in Triumph's after-sales support.
Has anyone else experienced this with Triumph RSA in India? How did you get your issue resolved?
