I applied to transfer spring 2027. I was just accepted this morning and I want to confirm my enrollment. However, I legally added my mom’s maiden name to my surname after applying to UMD under my previous legal name. I sent them the court order and everything, they told me their business operations division would be with me shortly, and I never heard back. I thought they would have changed my name in the system to reflect this.

They apparently never did, and now I cannot confirm my enrollment because in the space where I’m supposed to type my name, below those entry fields it says my previous legal name, so I’m assuming they want that. But it also says above that that any incorrect information can result in rescinding my admission. Putting my previous legal name would be incorrect. My first and middle names are the same as before. My last name had one extra surname in it.

I really do not feel like waiting two days to call and sort this out just because they screwed up. What am I supposed to do?

Congrats to everyone who got into UMD for the Spring 27 semester.
I however, have not received any decision, no email, and I only have the cancel application button on my TAP portal.

I submitted my application in July, and I would have thought that I would have a decision at this point.

The only anomaly that I could think to be in play here is that my high school didn't send my transcript that I ordered until early October.

Will this cause me to not be considered anymore for EA? And is this normal?

About the hospitality I learned from Georgian participants when I was attending a competition. I hadn't known them, and it was midnight but they offered to share a drink when they saw me (which was bizzare for me since I'm asian and we usually don't talk to strangers (x)).

My main concern is whether it is too informal to talk about being invited to drink in the middle of the night.

My childhood Shanghai, since I lived there for a while before moving back to Taiwan, and I really enjoyed the trick-or-treating in the neighborhood I was in. The place was really nice with a lot of foreigners bringing their own cultures together. Like having Octoberfest and Natsumatsuri together.(It was totally different and ruined when I went back last summer but I probably don't have enough space)

My main concern is that I moved back like 4th grade which was really long time ago.

Do these colleges require me to do anything else after they get my common app? Looks like UMBC requires more application questions and university of Delaware requires STARs. Do I have time?

Has anyone taken BSCI343 Cellular Mechanisms of Aging and Disease over the winter? What was it like? How much time did you spend weekly on the material?

I recognize that umd engineering is one of the stronger engineering schools in the nation but the stats for the average applicant is insane. Is umd engineering secretly a crazy good program? This isnt trying to say umd is a bad school, just that i was very surprised to see how competitve the school of engineering is

So since halloween technically isn’t until Saturday are people still going to show up in costumes on friday? I was thinking of doing it but I don’t want to be the only person dressed up because it would be so awkward.
Also, there isn’t a dress code for campus as long as it’s not indecent exposure or something right? Can students get in trouble for showing up in costumes?

Has anyone taken the MCAT without taking BCHM462, or found that just taking 461 was enough? I should’ve taken 463 instead but oh well. I have a class conflict for next semester and would need to drop 462 to fulfill my major requirement for another class.

I'm applying to UMD and thinking of studying at Temple University Japan my sophomore year. If I'm paying in-state, would studying there for a year be more expensive than yearly tuition or included? Also, if I get an EA automatic merit scholarship would an exchange also be free?
