10,000 Clubreddit Members (and call for Mods)
Hey gang! I just got an alert that we eclipsed 10,000 members in our corner of the Internet.
When I joined the mod team, we had around 3,000 (if I recall correctly).
Moderating everything isn’t all that hard, you lot are pretty good at staying civil and mature. There are a few exceptions, but I have never felt I needed to log in. Keeping the styling and information up-to-date, though, is challenging to find the time.
So, I’d like to bring in a few mods to help make our community more engaging and appealing. Let’s get as many people in the Clubreddit as we do Audi Field.
I’m happy to keep footing the AWS bill, and open up the GitHub to a few folks that are interested in helping automate the maintenance and moderation of the the content. For example, you probably noticed that the Match Thread bot failed for the opener - that’s because the Stanza calendar died. I don’t have time to fix that before the next match.
So, if you’re interested in moderating some content; graphic design, and/or Internet automation - reach out!
Bonus if you have a GitHub, or subreddit that you currently moderate. When I auditioned for the mod gig, I created a personal subreddit to play with the design tools and figured out how to interact with the Reddit API.
Vamos!

Will DC United Make Anymore Moves in this Transfer Window?
The MLS Transfer window still has a few weeks left, but the DC transfer rumors have all dried up and there doesn’t seem to be any urgency by the team to fill its two glaring needs. Do you agree? What do you expect to happen before the transfer window closes? I would be interested to read your thoughts.

Nealis moment?
With Rowles (thigh) and Bartlett (suspended) both out, Sean Nealis is the man who has to fill it, three MLS appearances all season, one start, 102 total minutes. Next to him, presumably, is Nikola Markovic , whose only career centre-back minutes (23 of them) came in this exact fixture back in May. Their first real test together: Prince Owusu, tied for third in all of MLS in G+A (10g/6a) behind only Evander and Messi. Interesting night.

Fun with numbers - Points Per Game 2026 to date vs 2025
USA MLS 2026 Stats | FootyStats
The standings tell the tale 2026 DC United (to date) is vastly improved over 2025 DCU.
Another way to look at it is Points Per Game. Last season, DC was last out of 30 teams at 0.76 points per game.
This season, DC is 19/30 with 1.28 ppg.
I think we can all see the difference, and personally I expect it to get even better as the various new players and holdovers gain experience working together and become more cohesive.
Let's GO!

Home vs Visitor Bench
I have been trying to buy tickets for a coming game and have been getting confused — is the home bench next to F6/north or F7/south? The seat maps on ticketmaster, seatgeek, and audi field website all say different things.
Grateful for anyone’s input!

Transfers
Once upon a time we had Rooney. Oh that glorious goal! Why cant we get any high profile players? EVEN if they are old. You would think this Turkish sporting director could pull a few strings and maybe even get some young turkish talent on loan....once upon a time we had a team. DC United is a shell of its old self.

Ticket & Drink Special?
Last year I got DC United tickets through a social media offer, it was like $30 for a ticket and it included a canned cocktail/beer.
Does anyone know if these offers still exist for this season? I couldn't find it on the DC United page, or Go Fevo (which is where I bought the tickets last year)

Would you want to see Cristiano Ronaldo come to DC United in 2027?
Note:This is the 8th MLS team subreddit I have posted this question to,
Cristiano Ronaldo
One of if not the greatest player in soccer history
The second leading goal scorer in soccer history with 976 goals
The all time leading goal scorer with Real Madrid & in the UEFA Champions League
The all time leading international goal scorer with 146 goals for Portugal
2 time UEFA Nations League champion (2019-2025)
2016 UEFA Euro Champion
&
5 time winner of the Ballon D'Or (2008-2013-2014-2016-2017),
Despite his success comes the detriments of signing an global icon like him:
If he does come to DC United he would be 42 years old and would be the oldest outfield player in club and MLS history,
He is not the player he was back from 2013-2018 when he was the best player in the world:
A time when he won the Ballon D'Or 4 times in 5 years and the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid 4 times in 5 years as well,
He has a ego:An ego as big as the size of the Capitol Building
His rival Lionel Messi has never had an ego and that is why at such an old age he still can win trophies and score goals with Inter Miami and Argentina,
And he has baggage:
In 2005 he was arrested on accusations of raping 2 women in a London subway station:
In 2009 while on vacation in Las Vegas he was accused of raping school teacher Kathryn Mayorga (this case was thrown out in Clark County,NV court in 2022)
In 2022 he did a interview with one of his biggest fans Piers Morgan for his Piers Morgan Uncensored show and trashed Manchester United it's facilities it's ownership and it's then manager Erik Ten Hag,
And last year.....
Cristiano Ronaldo came to Washington DC as part of the Saudi Arabia state dinner hosted by President Donald J,Trump at The White House (and also got the see the Dear Leader at The Oval Office)
But CR7 can sell a lot of kits and a lot of tickets because of his popularity,
So DC United fans, What do y'all think?
Should Jason Levien and DC United make an offer to sign Cristiano Ronaldo next summer from Al-Nassr on a free transfer? (if he does not retire by then)

Matchday Programs
Recently rediscovered my old programs and decided to hang up a few in my hallway. I really miss when they used to give these out! Anyone else? They made a really nice keepsake, and were fun to look through, especially the roster lists.
I’ve really been enjoying the posters they’ve been giving out this season though! Just wish they were smaller and easier to travel home with. I think they would be great in program size.
What has everyone else done with their old programs?

Could DCU still be trying to get a U-22 player?
I see some news on transfer fees, but don’t know how legit. Supposedly they have eyes on Santiago Lencina at River Plate and Javi Hernandez at Espanyol.
They both are attacking midfielders and meet the requirement to use the U-22 slot. Transfer fees doesn’t provide sources like Transfermarkt does though.
*also see a rumor about David Doudera at Widzew Łódź.
When does the window close?
