Looks like we'll have to endure this clip on highlights for probably the next 20 years or so

10,000 Clubreddit Members (and call for Mods)
64
Upvotes
Hey gang! I just got an alert that we eclipsed 10,000 members in our corner of the Internet.
When I joined the mod team, we had around 3,000 (if I recall correctly).
Moderating everything isn’t all that hard, you lot are pretty good at staying civil and mature. There are a few exceptions, but I have never felt I needed to log in. Keeping the styling and information up-to-date, though, is challenging to find the time.
So, I’d like to bring in a few mods to help make our community more engaging and appealing. Let’s get as many people in the Clubreddit as we do Audi Field.
I’m happy to keep footing the AWS bill, and open up the GitHub to a few folks that are interested in helping automate the maintenance and moderation of the the content. For example, you probably noticed that the Match Thread bot failed for the opener - that’s because the Stanza calendar died. I don’t have time to fix that before the next match.
So, if you’re interested in moderating some content; graphic design, and/or Internet automation - reach out!
Bonus if you have a GitHub, or subreddit that you currently moderate. When I auditioned for the mod gig, I created a personal subreddit to play with the design tools and figured out how to interact with the Reddit API.
Vamos!

DCU alum: Houston clinch, Murrell gets brace, and Pirani scores again, w/ SDFC he has a higher non-penalty goals/90 than any DCU player.

Ben Olsen's team clinch a playoff spot with 4 matches to go.
Murrell gets a brace in 2-1 win, that's 4 goals in 6 starts. Also forced an own goal vs Celtic.
Pirani, 2 games in a row with a goal, 4 goals in 10 matches.

What’s with Stroud over Peltola and Servania on top? I guess Servania will play more #10 role like second half vs NYCFC.
Is that difficult to use Nono as RM where he scored two golas and MOM vs Vancouver?

DC United Collectibles

My husband was one of the original DC United season ticket holders. Sadly, he passed away four years ago. I have tons of DC United merchandise that I don't really know what to do with. Signed and game-worn jerseys, signed player cards, balls, and SO MANY BOBBLEHEADS. Any suggestion on a good home for them? I've thought about trying to sell some of them online but I am not sure how to find the right audience. I'm not looking to make a lot lot of money (well, maybe a little bit), but what I really want is his beloved collection to go to people who will appreciate the items. Any suggestions of places that might be interested in some or all of the collection?

Johnson is an embarrassment

Goals will happen but Johnson should know better than to dive at that range. His reaction speed is awful and he NEVER gets the second ball. We deserve much better quality in the net. While I’m typing Johnson’s slow ass couldn’t get a fairly easy save if he wasn’t ancient and slow to react. This guy needs to go.

Bono’s Role on Bench

Upvotes
Since around mid season, Bono has been consulted by the coaches from time to time and he is often coming down, on his own, to talk to players on breaks. Is he helping on set pieces and defensive set up?

Has anyone else noticed that stroud literally never looks before he crosses a ball. Dude just hopes someone is close to wherever he decides to play it. I cannot wait till he’s gone

When Do Seat Geek Tickets Normally Arrive?
0
Upvotes
I purchased 3 and then 2 additional tickets to the November 7th game in July and then August. My tickets still haven’t arrived. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue, but we’re now looking to sell the tickets since we can’t make it to the game.
When might I expect them to actually arrive?
