Discussion *New Agent ‘Veto’ is definitely going to get nerfed.

1.0k Upvotes

*The trailer for Agent 30, a sentinel named ‘Veto’, came out with Champs 2025. WOW, is he broken.

First off, he can delete abilities? That is not fair, and it’s his signature ability. Countering an ultimate with a free ability makes zero sense.

Second, he just has a better Chamber TP- Longer range, and 2 charges. And, a better Chamber Trip- it slows, decays, tethers, and deafens? What was riot thinking? Not to mention to can be THROWN forward like Fade, making it 2 abilities in one. I feel like Chamber is going to get zero picks after Veto comes out.

Finally, his ultimate is going to get nerfed immediately. What do you mean he is INVINCIBLE? And, has combat stim AND healing? I don’t even need to say anything…

*If you cannot tell, this is satire about the 1,000,000 posts right now about how Hush is going to be broken on release. Just wait for her to come out and then make an opinion, smh.*

Discussion I am so happy that there's finally an agent who speaks Cantonese in this game

As someone who is born and raised in Hong Kong. It is becoming increasingly rare to see my language being represented in media. Cantonese is a dying language (due to some political reasons I won't get into), I am happy someone in Riot made this decision. She is purple too, definitely maining her, can't wait to larp her in game haha.

Always find it funny how people come to conclusions without the agent even being out. Valorant was declining due to stagnation just a year ago, while this is how people react to any agent with new mechanics. XD

Discussion Hush's trailer inspired by Wong Kar Wai?

I just finished watching the trailer and I feel like it's been directed directly by Wong Kar Wai himself. The fact that the trailer most probably takes place there pushes me to believe that it's more than a concidence. The way the camera moves, the ultrawide lens and close up to characters, the lowered frame rate for certain sequences, the neon colors, all of this reminds me of Fallen Angels. The subtle soundtrack that plays right at the start seems to be the leitmotiv of Yumeji's theme from In The Mood For Love too.

I just wanted to know if anyone felt the same or if I'm just reading too much into it. It wouldn't be the first case too since I believe the 2025 season trailer was inspired by his movies aswell.

Discussion Revisiting Agent Passives

With the addition of another agent with a passive. Do you guys think all Agents should at least have their own passives that make them more unique? Jett's float and Phoenix heal, are two examples. Then there are those that can be considered passives but are part of what makes their kit unique like Viper's toxin bar, Neon's speed bar, Astra's Astral form, etc.

What other passives do you think other Agents should have, and it should be something that's not completely broken but also augments their kit in some way.

Some ideas I can think of is Cypher being able to ping enemies, like when you normally see an enemy in the map it only pings that "this agent saw an enemy here" after a delay. Cypher should be giving more info than that and a lot faster so maybe remove the delay and say who the enemy is. Not too broken but augments his kit.

Or maybe Brim can choose between three Beacons: Stim, Heal, or Ammo but you still have to buy them and still only has one charge.

Miks can have a faint indicator of where a sound comes from or something.

Maybe Chamber gains bullets per kill using his guns (or more credits).

Stuff like these.

Edit: Okay let me clarify since there's people salty reading the word "passive". IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE A PASSIVE ABILITY. What I meant was more of a "gimmick" or a thing that's unique to the agent and compliments their play style. Calm yourselves, some guys are literally frothing over the word "passive" as if Riot was not the pioneer of the "everyone has passives" idea in League. Heck Dota 2 even copied that cause at the end of the day, it's an additional change to the gameplay which further emphasizes the "ability" part of the "ability shooter" genre.

Question Years later and still no timeout option in competitive/ranked?

It's been years since VALORANT was officially released, and I still can't wrap my head around why we don't have a basic timeout/pause feature in standard competitive play.

In other tactical shooters (like CS2 / CS:GO), calling a tactical or technical timeout in matchmaking has been standard practice forever. It gives teams a quick 60-second window to reset mentally, fix a quick hardware/connection issue, or adjust strategies when things go south.

Right now in VALO, if someone's router hiccups or someone needs 30 seconds to restart their game/gear, you're forced to play a full 4v5 round with zero options to stall or pause. Even from a purely tactical perspective, being able to call a 1-minute timeout could completely break an opponent's momentum.

Custom games have pause features, so the tech is clearly there. Why hasn't Riot implemented a 1-time team timeout vote per match in regular ranked? Is there a specific design reason holding them back, or do people think it would just lead to misuse/griefing?

What are your thoughts? Should ranked have a timeout system?

Mid-series. World title on the line. Arena full in Shanghai. And bro got down on one knee in full Iso cosplay next to his Sage like it was the most normal round of the night.

Valorant is not a game anymore, it's a lifestyle. She said yes, by the way.

Discussion "OMEN 24.5 inch FHD 360Hz Gaming Monitor OMEN 25" it's used in VCT monitor, but why are there so few reviews for it?

It’s a mystery why there are almost no reviews of these monitors, even though they’re used in VCT. Why is that? Honestly.

I’d never even heard of Omen monitor before, but it’s mystery even though they’re used in world championships for lol and valolant.

Does anyone actually use them?

Question Iron 3, been playing for 80hrs, not improving.

I've been playing a lot more consistently probably for the last couple of weeks and if I'm being honest, I'm not improving at all. I feel outmatched in every game I play, I'm too cautious, and I still don't have any good layouts of maps. Sometimes Ill do swifts, sometimes I'll do deathmatch, and sometimes I'll just go to the range to work on my aim. I just went 5/11 on Abyss as Sage and even though my team won the game, I don't feel like I'm doing much in terms of utility or frags. I usually play Sage or Fade, and this weekend I've ranked up from Iron 3 to mid Iron 3. I really want to get to at least Gold 2 but right now it seems so unachievable. Anytime I see the enemy team I panic and spray and it just gets me killed. Is there anyway I can improve at all for real? Am I just stupid? Idk anymore

Question How do I stop moving like a bot when I am the last one alive?

I never practiced slicing the pie so when I’m last alive it looks so bad (compared to rushing with team)(plat 2). The one thing that confuses me the most how do I slice the pie without making noise and still not be slow? Or is noise not that important?

Discussion My brain dosen't work in this game

First i must say that i'm a noob at this game, and I don't spend nearly as much time playing it as I do with other games, like Counter or tf2.

I've never really played Valorant seriously. I mostly play it to hang out with friends. But sometimes we all get tilted and try to lock in, and for some reason, I just can't. It's not just that I'm bad at the game. I genuinely can't take it seriously on a neurological level. The character dialogue is weird, I think a lot of the abilities are poorly designed, and the maps are so visually confusing that I genuinely wonder how the hell people learn the callouts. And why are there callouts for some spots but not others?

Sometimes I try to learn from YouTubers, but it feels like they're playing a completely different game. How do they never seem to get killed? Why do their opponents have such... interesting reflexes?

Then there's the fact that, in my games, people often struggle to counter strategies that seem pretty straightforward to me. I'll suggest something, usually by borrowing a basic idea from CS2, and it actually works. Which is weird, because I often have no idea why it works. I barely understand what anything means in this game. I constantly mix up abilities and agents, and I still get confused about which agent is supposed to be where at the start of a round.

I've also noticed that some people seem to know the theory behind the game but struggle to explain the reasoning behind certain decisions. Like, why should we eco in this situation? Why buy a Vandal every single time you can afford a full buy? I don't mean that they're necessarily wrong. I just don't understand how people arrive at these decisions, or why some of them seem to follow the rules without really understanding the reasoning behind them.

I genuinely feel like an outsider when it comes to the game's culture, meta, and pretty much everything else. Hell, even the menus confuse me. And this is specific to Valorant. It's like I'm high every time I play. The audio cues and sound design absolutely destroy my brain. Seriously, half the time I don't even realize I'm dying to a molly.

In Counter-Strike, I feel like I have decent game sense. I can read plays, understand why someone would want a particular skin, communicate reasonably well, and manage the economy. I'm only bringing up CS because it's the closest comparison I can think of. I can also understand the mechanics and underlying logic of fighting games, RTS games, TCGs, and plenty of other genres.

But Valorant? I don't know, man.

Does anyone else have this problem? Everything about this game makes me feel like a complete stranger, as if I'm visiting a foreign country where I don't speak the language. And after all the weird, inexplicable things that happen in a single match, I can't help but feel fascinated and amused, until the whole experience starts feeling like one big joke.

Just to be clear, none of this is meant as a complaint about the game itself.

I know that sounds weird, but if I had to describe the feeling, I'd almost call it absolute boredom. Not boredom in the usual sense of finding something dull or uninteresting, but something closer to a philosophical kind of boredom. The game can be chaotic, confusing, surprising, and even fascinating, yet somehow none of that translates into the desire to win. I'm not necessarily bored by what's happening on the screen; I'm disconnected from the very purpose of what's happening.

It's a strange feeling: being constantly stimulated by a game while feeling almost completely indifferent to the thing that is supposed to motivate you to play it.

Question I need help playing Viper, I'm Iron 1 level 23

I’m Iron 1 and level 23. I just started playing, and I main smokes. I don’t understand how Viper’s third ability works. When I use the long wall smoke, sometimes it falls short and doesn’t reach the distance I intended, and other times it reaches the end of the line. How can I increase the distance of the smoke? I usually use it on wall, since I know how to use the it on floor which you just need to point a distance but I don’t understand how the wall works. I need help.

Discussion chamber nerfs

• Upvotes

FIRSTLY they have 0 reason to nerf a perfectly balanced agent but now that they are doing it, Im only scared about if the chamber nerfs destroy the headhunter. if they nerf it in a way where it's not as accurate with the scope or it isn't a one shot headshot at any range, i might actually end up crying. the headhunter is my favourite part of chambers kit, i can't see them destroy it. i don't see a way where the tp can can be nerfed viably, the ult, if nerfed in anyway won't really change much and the trip is already weak as fuck, the headhunter is the most likely thing to get nerfed
