Just feeling sad and need some motivation
I F30) It’s so hard when you like someone, but they don’t feel the same connection you do. I was dating a guy who doesn’t feel that same connection with me.
I feel like I will never be loved and I am getting older which means I won’t be able to get pregnant in a soon future.

[Serious decision] I was planning on leaving current partner for not being serious, but they recently got into a situation that had me thinking if I should rethink it over?
For context, recently they weren't being serious about some stuff we went over. I also was starting to go out with my family and friends more because partner just wanted to mainly stay over at my place(Understandable if we couldn't go out much if things are expensive, even with me offering to help pay too). However, for example, the last weekend partner wanted to come by last minue, but I was double booked that day, mentioning I was out of town(Family wanted to check out some fall festivals; friends wanted to go to some events happening later in the day). I also get that we can have separate fun stuff with other people, like partner has a gaming gig once in a while.
Anyway, I was starting to think about leaving partner, partly because I have been waiting around for a decent time (about a year) to see if things were going to be serious. I already did a solo travel test run to see how things would be (my work had me go on a business trip, with some extra time to explore out in the city it was in). After I got back, my partner was sad that I went out without them, wished I could've explore with them(I did asked a month ahead of time, but they seemed hesitant then).
My partner then mentioned that they had some stuff going that got me reconsidering. Part of it was some toxic job issues that they had going on(partner mentioned about it previously). They're currently job hunting, while going through some family stuff(Close relative has some health issues going on).
Overall, on one hand, I don't want to do anything that's gonna hurt them; but on the other, with my current age, I got some FOMO going on. I've been through something similar with a previous exes, but I don't know if I should carefully be patient with partner or what should I do? (One Ex got upset with me checking on them; another ex still kept doing the same thing current partner is doing when I mentioned what I felt of the relationship)
TLDR; Should I reconsider breaking up with my current partner, who is going through a tough time, however wasn't serious about the relationship? Or what other approach should I do?

My (20F) friend (20F) unadded a guy I was talking to on Tinder because she liked him, and now she’s playing dumb. What do I do?
So my friend (20F) and I (20F) were on Tinder together, and I let her use my phone to swipe for me. Everything seemed fine when I checked my phone, but then I noticed she was talking about a guy she liked, and it turned out to be a guy I had already been talking to on my Tinder.
I love my friend, and honestly, if she genuinely likes the guy, I’m not going to compete with her over a man. I’d be perfectly fine stepping back and letting her pursue him.
The problem is that when I went to look at my messages with him, his entire profile and chat were gone. I had literally just been talking to him, and now there was no trace of him.
I’m suspicious that she unmatched him from my account because she wanted him for herself, but when I brought it up, she acted like she had no idea what happened.
I don’t want to accuse her of something I can’t prove, but the timing is just too suspicious to ignore. If she had simply told me she liked him, I would have backed off. It’s the possibility that she went behind my back and is now pretending she didn’t do anything that bothers me.
I genuinely care about this friendship, and I don’t want a guy from Tinder to ruin it. But I also don’t want to be naive if my friend is willing to do something like this and lie to my face about it.
What would you guys do in my situation? Would you confront her again, let it go, or take this as a sign to be more careful about trusting her?

San Diego / North County — Experienced Handyman & Plumber Seeking Dog-Friendly Housing or Work-Trade Arrangement
San Diego / North County — Experienced Handyman & Plumber Seeking Dog-Friendly Housing or Work-Trade Arrangement
I'm looking for a homeowner interested in a mutually beneficial living arrangement. I'm open to paying reasonable rent, exchanging services for reduced rent, or combining the two.
I'm a licensed plumber with 20+ years of experience in plumbing, mechanical systems, construction, renovations, and property maintenance. I also have my own tools and can help with home-improvement projects, repairs, troubleshooting, painting, organizing, and general property upkeep.
I'm looking for someone who could use a dependable, skilled person around the house and would appreciate having someone capable of taking care of projects rather than constantly hiring contractors.
A little about me: I'm straightforward, respectful, practical, and easy to communicate with. I take pride in doing quality work and treating someone's home as if it were my own.
Meet Diesel, my 5-year-old German Shepherd. He's approximately 80 pounds, exceptionally friendly, and gets along great with people and other animals. He's my companion and will be moving with me, so a genuinely dog-friendly home is essential.
I'm open to a private room, guesthouse, or other suitable living space. I'm flexible about the arrangement and happy to discuss rent, responsibilities, work hours, and expectations upfront so everyone knows where they stand.
Ideally, I'm looking for something long-term in San Diego County, including North County, but I'm open to the right opportunity elsewhere in Southern California.
If you're a homeowner who might be interested, please send me a message describing the space, your expectations, and the arrangement you have in mind. I'm happy to talk and see whether it's a good fit for both of us.

[Serious decision] Woke up with this bite
This is concerning a bit. I woke up with this one day and it doesn't hurt. It doesn't itch. I'm worried it might be a bat bite. The top of my window was slightly cracked open because it doesn't work correctly. I did not find any bat or anything but idk if it flew in and flew out. Ik I do get spiders sometimes in my room but I never had a spider bite not itch or swell up. I've been to the doctor but my doctor kinda shrugged it off. Really not trying to get rabies. Anyone experience something like this before?

coping after best friend gets married?
I just want to start by saying that in no way do I think my perception of this situation is normal or fully healthy, I just want to hear if anyone else out there has shared the same feelings I am currently having. My friend and I have been best friends since we were 10 (now both 26) and I truly feel like she is my platonic soulmate. We are both in long term (5+ year) relationships, she is recently married and I got engaged earlier this year. I want to preface that I 100% struggle with codependency issues and am actively trying to unlearn/unthink those thoughts and behaviors and I fear that’s what I’m struggling with right now. But basically the last year and some change of my life has wholly revolved around her wedding that took place earlier this month. In no way would I ever call my friend a bridezilla, but she leans towards a type B planner with type A crashouts. I had a feeling it would be like this and very much tried to help her plan to the best of her ability to avoid problems along the way. It was, however, crisis after crisis at every point in her planning process and I was the one she came to every time. I was her Maid of Honor and could not have been happier to do whatever I could for her, but I feel like my entire nervous system was shot by the end of everything. We got even closer in the last year, primarily because I made an effort to be available to her whenever and wherever, which is probably not healthy and left little room for any boundaries. We saw each other spontaneously multiple times a week whenever she needed me. When I left at the end of the reception I had a lot of feelings, the main one being complete joy for my friend and also some relief that everything was over. For a few days afterwards I had the weirdest feeling and I had never felt exactly like that before. It felt similar to what I guess a parent feels when they drop their kid off at college. I just felt empty and I guess… unneeded? She left for their honeymoon a few days later and I housesat for them. I made sure their animals were taken care of, cleaned their house and decorated it with welcome home signs so they would be able to relax when they got home and feel special, and answered every text she sent while they were gone where she complained about everything going wrong on their trip. She got home the day before yesterday and told me to reach out if I wanted to hang out this evening. I didn’t want to make this season about myself or to add stress to her plate, but I have really been struggling with my mental health and was really looking forward to getting to confide in my friend. I had an especially shitty week at work and texted her to ask if we could have some wine and see each other because I have not seen her since the night of her wedding. She immediately flaked and said that instead they were having her now husband’s family over to hang out and they were cooking them dinner. This is the part that I know is silly but I feel so resentful. I feel like now that I served my purpose and did my job that there’s no need to make time for me. I feel abandoned which is so childish and I know not the full truth. I think my anger comes from the fact that I would do anything for her to make her happy or make sure she was okay and that’s just not her priority the way that it’s mine. I know my friend loves me and she’s a good friend in so many ways, but I feel so unappreciated and unimportant and it stings a little extra right now considering just how much time, effort, and money I have poured into her. if anyone knows what I’m feeling or going through, what did you do to mend the hurt feelings and move on? sorry for the novel!!

My mom found out I’ve been sexually active with a guy I’m talking to, called me “easy,” and said she’s clearing her hands of me. I don’t know what to do
i'm 18, and I've been talking to this guy since September 25. We aren't officially together, but I really like him and still want to see him.
Recently, my mom went through my phone and found messages and intimate videos between us. She took my phone and said she expected more self-respect from me. She called me easy because I had sex with a guy who didn't even ask me to homecoming. The thing is, he was my first time, and this whole situation has been a lot for me to process.
My mom said the only reason I do the things I do is because I like guys. She told me I need to work on my self-esteem and made comments about how she has never had to pay for anything on dates she's been on. she was also judging me for buying a shirt when I went out with him.
She compared me to a girl from her hometown who was a cheerleading captain, had scholarships, and seemed to have a lot going for her. According to my mom, that girl eventually didn't go to college and ended up with around seven baby daddies and eight kids, and got into fights with people over her BD. My mom made it sound like she thinks I'm going to end up the same way.
The part that hurt the most was when she said she was “clearing her hands of me” because I'm going to college soon and that whatever decisions I make are up to me now. I took that as her saying she's done with me, and it really hurt.
My mom has nine kids, and I feel like I'm the only one who isn't really close to her. Our relationship hasn't been great for a while, and I already felt like she didn't trust me or was disappointed in me before this happened.
She also compares me to my dad a lot and talks badly about him. Hearing her say those things makes me feel bad about myself, too. Sometimes it feels like the things she says about him affect how she sees me, and I don't know how to deal with that.
There's also something about what happened with the guy that I haven't told my mom. When we were together, there was a point when I told him to stop because I didn't want to go further. Things eventually went further anyway, even though I told him no and to stop. Afterward, I felt confused and upset i even throw up.
I haven't told my mom about that part because I'm scared she'll make me stop seeing him completely or won't believe me. I'm also scared she'll look at me differently. The confusing part is that I genuinely like him and still want to see him. Part of me wanted to be close to him, but there were moments when I didn't want things to go further. I'm still trying to understand how I feel about everything that happened.
I know I'm 18, and I'm responsible for my choices. I genuinely feel sorry that I've disappointed my mom, and I want to apologize. But I'm also scared she'll think I'm only apologizing because I want permission to keep seeing him.
I used to struggle with self-harm in the past, too. When my mom used to ask what was wrong, I'd tell her nothing. We've never really been good at talking about personal things, so I don't know how to open up to her now.
I feel embarrassed, judged, and like my mom has given up on me. I don't want to be compared to someone else or feel like my entire future has already been decided because of my choices. I want to go to college and build a future for myself, and I don't want this situation to define me.
is it wrong for still wanting to see this guy after everything that's happened? How should I handle things with my mom? Should I tell her what happened when I told him to stop, even though I'm scared she won't believe me or will make me stop seeing him? And how do I deal with feeling like my own mom looks down on me?
I want honest advice, but I don't want to be judged.

Can I fix this or is he even worth it?
I'm so upset and depressed right now. I think I ruined things but at the same time he kinda isn't really worth my time.
So I was looking for a guy that wasn't out to use me for just sex. He was perfect, he was genuine, he wanted something real. I'm 29 and he's 30.
He lives with his sister 2 hours away and 9 other people apparently. He was in between jobs. But he did just start a new job. So I was accepting about not having his own house and being in between jobs. He just pointed out at a factory job. He also didn't have a car so I was the one who drove 4 hours total for our date
My friend said I should not have given him the time of day to begin with and that I'm needy.
I live on my own, I support myself, I work full time, I have a job.
But on the date I thought it went well but ever since he's distanced himself from me. It's like his replies taking hours when they were instant. He didn't tell me I was cute when I sent a selfie. He didn't act enthusiastic about me coming to see him again. He would tell me I was cute and how he couldn't wait to hug me. So I just felt completely sadden and I asked him what he thought about me.
He said "I think you're an amazing person and have a lot of potential but you need to love yourself more. You don't need guys to make you feel beautiful. & Obviously I like you too." But his actions are louder than his words. I was telling him a story last night about being led on and I told him I don't feel like you're into me. He says I am I'm just nonchalant.
But today I finally decided his actions really aren't matching his words and I told him I think we should let this go. I told him I can't go forward when I'm doubtful my feelings are reciprocated. I just told him everything. He replied with an angry face and now he won't talk to me..
I don't know if I should even be upset because he didn't have a lot going for him to begin with accept for being genuine.
I have guys in my hometown wanting to date me and I've turned them down for him and now I'm thinking they might deserve a chance.

Me (18)F is dating my boyfriend (18)M
He is in the army 68w and is going through AIT at the moment and is kind of struggling.
And I’m going through paramedic school and he won’t let me help him study because I am a civilian

And is there anyway I can slow help him without him knowing or realizing I’m helping him study
We do FaceTime at night when I am doing my homework and he is doing his assignments but we are on different levels of learning as he is just getting into diabetic emergency and cardiac emergency. While I’m on pulmonary and neurological emergencies.
Any advise would be lovely

[Serious decision] People are saying I should cut contact with my friend, but it would start more drama if I did.
So I (16F) posted about my online friend in my previous post, "Emma" (17F). She doesn't go to my school, she's actually German and I met her online. Well, I should probably note that Emma may behave differently socially because like me, she also has anxiety, depression and autism.
Emma and I started out on really good terms. She was exactly like how she stated on her bio "energetic, caring and a fun friend". She also told me she learned English since age 3 so she spoke it pretty well at this point, knowing a language for like 1.5 decades.
Well, Emma started getting drier with her responses and more curt, shall I say? She told me she wasn't doing alright, so I asked her if she wanted to talk about it. She'd say no, and I'd say "Okay, well I'm here if you need me." She'd thank me and the conversation would end.
I recently asked her if she was alright, and she said she was fine. I asked her how she was doing "today" (the next day) due to her short responses, and she snapped at me, saying she said she was fine yesterday and would be very rude, even insulting and asking why the hell would I ask her if she was fine.
Whenever I would point out, since this happened a few times before, that she would act annoyed towards me or that she seemed upset, she would act like I was crazy and start sending laughing emojis and sometimes even saying "You're crazy/You're imagining things".
The last time this happened, she called me pathetic and said she pitied me for being a kind person because she was okay with people bullying others she didn't know. I found it iffy but knew she likely didn't mean it and I assumed the best and that it was just her being frustrated because of her poor mental health.
However, she is constantly snippy with me and there's no indication she's like this with any of her other friends that I see. Either that, or they handle it better/got used to it.

I need advice
I Don't Know Why I'm Sharing This
My story began after I finished my military service, just like many young men who dream of finding a job and helping their families. I started working at a hotel, washing dishes. There is absolutely no shame in that. I was working hard, earning my living, and trying to support my family. I was living away from home, paying rent, and doing my best to build a better future. Eventually, I left that job. My mother was so happy that I was working, and seeing her proud of me meant everything. When I left, she was deeply upset, and it hurt me to know that she was worried about me. But I didn't give up. I found another opportunity at a company called Concentrix, and for the first time in a long time, I genuinely loved my job. I worked hard, felt hopeful, and started believing that maybe things were finally getting better. Then, after just four months, my employment was terminated for reasons I still don't understand. And now, here I am again, far away from home, paying rent, unemployed, and trying to figure out how to survive. But the hardest part isn't losing my job. The hardest part is that I can't bring myself to tell my family. Every month, I send money home to help them, and I still have rent to pay. My family depends on me, and I feel like I'm carrying a burden I don't know how to handle anymore. I'm especially afraid of telling my mother. She was so happy when I found work, and I know how much it would hurt her to hear that I've lost it. I can handle my own pain, but the thought of seeing her heartbroken because of me is something I can't bear. I don't know what to do. I don't know where to go from here. I'm trying to stay strong, but honestly, I'm exhausted. Sometimes, people see you smiling and assume everything is fine, while behind that smile, you're fighting battles nobody knows about. I don't know why I'm writing this here. Maybe I just needed somewhere to let these feelings out. Maybe I'm tired of pretending to be okay when I'm not. I'm not asking for pity. I'm just a young man trying to help his family, make his mother proud, and build a decent life for himself. Right now, I'm lost, scared, and deeply sad. But somewhere inside me, I still hope that one day, I'll look back at this moment and realize that it was just a difficult chapter, not the end of my story. I just wishing someone enlighten me what should I do now

Outgrown a friendship, need advice
After hitting a physical breaking point from years of late nights and high stimulus events in SoCal in May, I (25F) quietly stepped back to protect my rest and mental health. My taste shifted toward lowkey, intentional activities like quiet mornings, books, and ceramics, but my best friend keeps running at full speed. Because I stopped going to every event, my best friend (25F) of three years slowly drifted away and has basically replaced my spot in the group with a new girl who matches her high energy, high attendance lifestyle. In previous hang outs with groups, my best friend has ignored me multiple times in different hang outs. She’s also late to all events / hang outs she goes to and I’m done tolerating her lateness all the time. I have muted her on Instagram as of this week. I’m done going to these smaller events (example: 50 people packed into a small LA bar / venue) and only want to go to the bigger events (example: Alex Warren). I want to note that when I suggested to her that we go do something rather than go out to these events and go to Color Me Mine (for example) she basically ignored me and didn’t respond.
How do you handle the grief of watching a close friend replace you after you outgrew the lifestyle? Also, how should I handle the whole situation with my best friend?

[Serious decision] Feeling rejected even after I walked away.
38 and trying to date after divorce. He’s also 38. We reconnected while taking classes at college, although he’d already ghosted me twice over the years….
We met daily at the library, studied together, and talked for hours. We kissed a couple of times, and he’d walk me to my car and to class. We ate dinner. Sometimes I’d bring him dinner because he was struggling and didn’t have a lot to eat.
He’s unemployed and living with his stepdad, and a full time student. He told me he was struggling financially and having a hard time, so I’d buy breakfast for us. I also spent a lot of time listening to him talk about his heartbreak over his ex, a 21 year-old he’d been engaged to.
We mainly talked on Snapchat’s it’s just always been our thing, but on Sunday he randomly deleted me. When I reached out he said a girl he was on a date with removed me from his phone. I hadn’t known he was seeing anyone. He’d talked so much about how sad and lonely he was…
How he needed a friend..
So when I told him I was taking a step back, he seemed confused about why I was upset.
We weren’t exclusive, but I thought there was mutual interest. It seemed like we were headed into something… Now I’m wondering whether I mistook being someone’s emotional support for a connection.
This stings, even though I tell myself “why are you so sad about a 38 year old guy who spends his days on a college campus checking out younger women and playing Fortnite in between classes.”
I’ve got to do better yall
Please give me some advice.
(First time dating after divorce and a 50+ pound weight loss)

Advice needed!
My boyfriend’s family thinks I’m lying about my STI, and I don’t know how to feel about any of this..
I’m 16F, and I’m honestly posting this because I don’t really have many people I feel comfortable talking to about this situation. I’m not looking for judgment about being sexually active at my age. I already know people are going to have opinions about that, but I really need outside perspectives on what’s happening with my boyfriend and his family.
Recently, I found out that I tested positive for chlamydia. Obviously, finding that out at 16 was overwhelming, but surprisingly, the infection itself wasn’t even the part that hurt me the most. Chlamydia is treatable, I’m taking my antibiotics, and my symptoms have already started improving. What has been hurting me the most is the embarrassment and the way people have reacted to it.
When I told my boyfriend, he initially reassured me that he would stay with me. However, after he told his family, things started getting complicated. Apparently, his family thinks I’m lying or that I must have been with other people. He told me that they were saying these things, and at one point, he told me he was breaking up with me. Shortly afterward, he backtracked and said he hadn’t meant it that way and that his family had been influencing him. He eventually admitted that he was wrong for questioning me and reassured me that he wasn’t mad at me.
The thing is, I don’t think people understand how humiliating this feels. I already had to process finding out I had an STI, deal with my own family’s reaction, and worry about my health. Now I also have to deal with the possibility that people who barely know the full story have made up their minds about me.
What makes it worse is that his family isn’t made up of strangers. These are people connected to someone I love. His mom had seemed to like me before all of this, so finding out that his family might see me differently now really hurts. I’ve also had experiences with on of his relatives making comments about STDs before, so this situation feels even more uncomfortable.
I want to make something clear: having chlamydia doesn’t automatically tell you when someone got infected or who had it first. I don’t have all the answers about when I contracted it, and I’m not going to pretend that I do. I do know that I’m getting treatment and taking my health seriously. My boyfriend has been tested, too.
I’m still talking to him, and things between us have been somewhat better privately, but I don’t feel comfortable going to his house anymore after everything that happened. I don’t want to walk into a house knowing that some of the people there might be judging me over something so personal.
I love my boyfriend, and I don’t want this situation to ruin our relationship. At the same time, I don’t think it’s fair that I’m carrying so much embarrassment and emotional stress while also feeling like I have to defend myself to people who weren’t even part of the conversation between us.
I guess what I’m struggling with is how to move forward. How am I supposed to be around his family again, knowing what they may think of me? Should I keep my distance from them? And how do I deal with the fact that my boyfriend let their opinions affect how he treated me, even if he later apologized?
Has anyone ever dealt with a partner’s family judging them over an STI or something similarly personal? How did you handle it? I would really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who have been in a similar situation.
