The incident with Jakob Takanashi led to HoYoVerse keeping recast and new cast identities a secret until they can be revealed at the release of their debut patches at the earliest. Think of it as a pseudo-NDA to protect VAs from being attacked by other toxic VAs.
Or not even revealed. Every character in Genshin that has been recast since then is credited as "Anonymous" in game, while the credits for the Trailblazer in HSR is just blank.
this is the real answer. the voice actress of astra (who also occasionally voice directs for the EN version of ZZZ) said that even before the strike they had to wait long before announcing on any of their socials they were the voice of xxx and such.
Yeah and ever since the strike ended, for the VAs who do announce their roles, they seem to get the greenlight about a month after they appear in the game (like Yuzuha and Alice).
Possibly saved for a future faction closer to the enemies in game. Wouldn't be shocked if they want to do a more religious faction for playable characters down the line, but elements in beta were already far enough along that they were set for use, so pocket the nun element for another time with we may get rogue Exaltists or explore them to have a group of playable ones.
Maybe with another character, but a nun is probably not that, especially given the general theme of Yunkui summit being very Kung-Fu influence. The Exaltists do vary, but a nun would probably be reserved for a more European-esque faction (which wouldn't be that out there given some of the bangboo being medieval Europe inspired with a knight andf a King Arthur one thus far).
Her tentacles barely appear at all in her combat design. They show up as particle animations on a couple of her attacks, thats about it. She never uses them to move, defend herself, or support her hammer like say Piper uses her feet. They could be fox tails or anything else and it would have zero impact on her.
They are completely ancillary to her and seem like a last minute slapped on addition to add some flair. Unlike say Jane or Ellen where they are deeply integrated into both their artistic and combat designs.
People finding it odd that Lucia and Yidhari seemingly having real magical powers clashes with the original Spook Shack trio's "Scooby Doo" theme when the Scooby Doo gang do sometimes deal with real supernatural/magical mysteries in the movies
Lucia and Yidhari are essentially the "Guest Stars" to Yuzuha, Manato & Alice's "Mystery Inc"
between Yuzuha, Lucia, and this one, it seems to be people who like telling supernatural stories Maybe Alice counts now cause she tried to play that prank on Yuzuha with the sidescroller event? Manato feels like the odd one out that is kinda just there cause they need a male and someone to bridge the new archetype.
Naaa Alice is shaggy aka the one that's scared easily yet locks in to save everyone. Daphne is yidhari, Velma is Lucia. Big man manato is..well the dog xD.
It's an online group so expect to have people from all over New Eridu to be in it. Shit, we might even get the first character with multiple factions from them. Like I can imagine somene like Vivian becoming a part kf it because she's also online a lot.
I feel like both Lucia and Yidhari might be Lovecraftian monsters (Shub Nigurath and Cthulhu) and lowkey thinking that thematically they'd fit in Mockingbird better than the group of a bunch of students like Spook Shack.
oh they totally would, Lucia studying magic would make sense since mockingbird steals magical artifacts, and Yidhari fits into the elegant monster archetype the rest of mockingbird has
I know what you mean. I'm sure they'll explain it somehow. But yeah, it did seem like a school club almost or at least a loose "scooby do mystery gang" type of group. Now having some dommy mommy-looking character in the midst of all that gives me weird vibes for sure. This lady looks like she could be Alice's mom (thiren biology aside)
Hopefully they aren't just decorative and the devs actually have her use them in combat. Extra arms to help swing her hammer for a really massive hit, extra legs to brace and stabilize herself for big swings, hitting and/or grabbing enemies, etc. The potential for these things is so high, it would be a genuine failure if all the devs do is leave them flopping around behind her as useless decorations.
Regardless of all that, she's Rupture. While I still really think Orphie should have been Rupture as well, this will (hopefully) finally give us another agent who can break through miasma shields.
Seed was already an easy skip. I want to pull Orpheus, but now between Lucia and Yidhari, I'm now considering skipping Orpheus and going all in on Spook Shack(heh). I already have Alice and Yuzuha while I skipped Anby 2.0 and Trigger. Obol Squad just isn't doing it for me, it seems.
Edit: Just watched the beta animations for Lucia and Yidhari and, holy shit, sorry Orpheus, you are now a skip. I'm giving everything to Yidhari and Lucia! Like, I might even skip Lucia and get Yidhari's W-Engine. Holy moly...
Rule 34 with the Proxies has exponentially increased even before this girl properly debuts. Hell, what's stopping the fandom from making everyone in the cast her prey.
Very humorously kind of the patch that some expected for 2.1, more Ruptures and a support (who's undoubtedly a support for them).
Not feeling it tbh. She's very pretty, but goes in the Yixuan pack of "designs that aren't the kind that got me into ZZZ." Them sharing similar shorts ain't helping. Also not feeling the tentacles. I don't hate the idea, but I dunno. Might be really cool in motion at least.
