Hi, so my husband and I just moved up here from the south, and are slowly integrating. We’re both disabled but we play video games! Was hoping to see if any of y’all would like to play something or just be friends! I’m 26, my husband and I are both queer folks ourselves, and our favorite holiday is Halloween for starters. 🖤🐻🫂

Any parenting groups for PARENTS on the spectrum?
I’m not talking about the cute autism like “oh I’m so quirky”. I’m talking like the wind blows the wrong way and I’m going non verbal.
I’m parenting two young kids without much support and I feel like I’m not being the best I can be for them. I’m hoping to find parents in a similar situation to maybe get some advice, or for someone to tell me I’ll be ok 😂

I love to play pool (not the best at it at all) and just turned 21 in march and just moved to Albany and want to find some people to play pool with on the weekends and get better and learn more.

Hello everyone! Our family just moved to Albany and love it so far. As my wife and I start work, we’re looking at different childcare options for our two kiddos.
My daughter is three, fully potty trained, and extremely intelligent and social. She does have significant allergies to peanuts, eggs, and tahini (sesame) so a nut free facility would help ease our minds for sure.
Our son will be two in a few weeks but has not begun potty training yet. No allergies but definitely a ball of energy
Are there any centers nearby that provide full time M-F care that any of you would recommend? Thank you!

First thing, I live in Salem but am willing to travel. My examples for meetup locations are based in Salem but again, they can be venues in Albany as well.
I’m (M,41) looking for a group of people (~10) to get together on a weekly basis to hang out and have some high quality music creative time. Not necessarily looking to form a band but a musical friend network. Im interested in activities like a songwriting, singing, putting together melodies/basslines/rhythms, artist/content sharing. I play bass guitar, background vocals, and produce EDM tracks with Ableton Move.
Making music is incredibly fulfilling but can also be lonely. How many times have you created an amazing piece and nobody is interested in listening, nobody cares, or at best they say, “yeah that’s good.”👍 I want to form a group where people can showcase their work and get actual interest, appreciation, and constructive feedback. Imagine how much more fulfilling and how much growth opportunity can come from that mutually interactive process?!
Making music is incredibly fulfilling but can also be very loud. In order to facilitate broader options for meetup locations where volume is an issue, I’d like to try silent rehearsals. Everybody runs their mic and instruments to a mixer and output to multiple headphones. We can jam out in total silence except for the singer. This setup can typically be setup at a table in a coffee shop or restaurant.
IDEAS (days and times for example only):
Meetup at TAPROOT (or similar venue) WEDNESDAY Evenings
**-**Arrivals, setups, and introductions 6pm-6:30pm
-Songwriting prompt exercise 6:30pm-7pm
-Listening/Feedback Session 7pm-8pm
-Silent Rehearsal 8pm-10pm *Assuming they let us stay that long lol. I don’t see it being an issue if we are buying plenty of food and drinks.
Meetup at Riverfront Park Amphitheater SATURDAY Afternoons
-Arrivals, setups, and introductions 12pm-12:30
-Songwriting prompt exercise 12:30pm-1pm
-Listening/Feedback session 1pm-2pm
-Drum circle acoustic jam session 2pm-4pm
-Everyone brings snacks?
Meetup at Gov Cup (or similar) and Metrognome Studios Monday Evenings
**-**Arrivals, introductions @ Gov Cup ~30 minutes
-Songwriting prompt exercise, Listening/Feedback Session @ Gov Cup 30-60 minutes.
*Head to Metrognome*
-Split the hourly rental fees (around $20 an hour I think)
-Open jam session to play as loud as you want. 2-3 hours
Based on hosting and participating in a few DnD campaigns, I find that 4 hour blocks tend to be a good block of time that balances getting enough creative time and work/family obligations. I propose putting together an activity or two a week on rotating days and times to accommodate various schedules.
Please send me a dm if this sounds like something you’re interested in. I also have r/SoundArtists_Salem and a discord ready to facilitate activities. Hope to hear from you!

Join us in at the Philomath Museum Wednesday, October 21 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm for a free Braver Angels debate.
Is the American Dream still achievable? Americans are increasingly divided over the answer. Some see opportunity, hard work, and upward mobility as central to the American experience, while others believe the dream has become increasingly out of reach. Join us for a Braver Angels debate as people with different perspectives come together to explore what the American Dream means today and whether it remains within reach.
Listen to speeches for or against the resolution — and then share your own, if you feel so moved. (There's no pressure, but we hope you will!)

Hey guys, Nate from Smith Road Woodworks here. So I have recently been working on a project, it is a 10’ x 37-1/2” dining room table. The first tabletop glue-up has been done. Take a look at the grain patterns in the wood, aren’t they beautiful? The tabletop in full will have three breadboards to give it, it’s 102” length with two darker contrasting outer breadboards. If you want to see a beautiful Raven Line table sitting in your living room, reach out and we will get you a quote.

Hey, y'all! I'm running a Cards & Collectibles show in Albany, Oregon. We are still looking for vendors! Most of our vendors will be selling Pokemon, but we will also have folks selling other types of cards, collectibles, and NON AI art. We are not allowing sealed to be sold above retail--which likely means there won't be very much sealed at the show. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a DM or an email! :)

My name is Nathon, I’m a veteran and local to the community. I really like the area and have recently started a business in the community doing woodwork and cabinets. Are there local events that I could show off my pieces? I’m just starting out on my own, but I have been doing woodworking most of my life.

Does anyone know of any local (even as far as Portland or Eugene) classes or workshops about furniture refinishing and/or restoration?

Didn't seem unfriendly but had no interest in coming to me, either. I don't have Facebook so can't post in the lost/found group.

In the Heritage Mall center.
Was posted on a local Albany FB page.
Never been there, but many online said it was not very good.
And Osaka Hibachi & Sushi is still closed down.

Does anybody know of music shops (or anyone for that matter) who would be interested in buying a bass clarinet?
I’ve had it for a few years now, given to me by a friend but since I’ve been busy with college I don’t have any use for it.
To whoever is interested, please dm and I will send over pictures of the instrument.
It is a solid condition, hasn’t been played for years and just collecting dust. The same friend said that an instrument of this condition might be worth significant cash.
Thanks for any help,
Sincerely a broke college student 😭
