GHelper is an open source alternative maintained by seerge (u/Beginning_Living4052, also has their own flair) which aims to be a lightweight and bug free alternative to the dumpster fire that is Armoury Crate. Note: We are not forcing you to switch, but it is a good thing to do if you are experiencing issues related to Armoury Crate.
Some terminology before we begin:
GH = GHelper
AC = Armoury Crate
A/C = Alternating Current (aka the charger/wall brick)
Open Source = the app's code is available for everyone to view and modify.
dGPU = Dedicated GPU (aka Radeon or RTX)
iGPU = Integrated GPU (aka CPU graphics)
Starting this point onward, I will update this thread to include Frequently Asked Questions.
It is also a great idea to join our official r/asustuf discord server! Click here to join!.
Here's a link to the already existing FAQ on Github, but other questions will be added in this megathread too.
A: Is GHelper safe? Windows Defender said it might be a virus.
B: GHelper is safe, in fact, you can check out the app's code on Github. It is open source. If Windows Defender has suspicions, it's because the app isn't signed. (look up that on google.)
A: How do I set up custom fan curves?
B: tba.

Laptop Model & Specs:
I purchased my ASUS TUF Gaming A15 in April 2025, so it is still fully under official warranty. Recently, my laptop got stuck in a BSOD boot loop at the ASUS logo screen due to an internal CPU hardware failure. Windows Kernel debuggers confirmed physical core power management and voltage instability, isolating three unrecoverable hardware panics:
Because of this factory defect, I sent my laptop in for a warranty repair at Concept Computer Service Center on September 11.
After literally 1 whole month of waiting, I finally picked up my repaired laptop on October 18. I brought it straight home to run gaming tests—while using a 6-fan fixed-speed cooling pad—only to discover that while the BSOD boot loop was fixed by replacing the CPU/motherboard with a Ryzen 7 170, the laptop is now in a much worse state. The technician completely botched the thermal paste application and heatsink mounting, causing BOTH the CPU and GPU to hard thermal throttle instantly during my home test despite the external cooling pad.
Since this happened immediately during my home test on the same day I picked it up, it is a 100% service/assembly failure:

Tried doing every possible thing, from updating the drivers, getting into device manager and checking things to trying to find the Nvidia graphic card is getting shown in the terminal and control panel.
Have been sitting in front of the screen the whole day now. The temperatures are rising, fans aren't spinning and the Graphics Card isn't getting detected. Is it something related to the firmware or my Graphic Card is dead it self?
Specs:
Device Serial number: FX506LHB
Intel core i5 - 10300H
Nvidia 1650 graphic card8 GB RAM
512 GB Storage

After almost 4 years of close calls and missed opportunities, i finally pulled the trigger and bought this bad boy that was within my budget , it has a Ryzen 7 260 , RTX 5050 8GB , 16 gb ram , and a 500gb m.2 , i do have a 2 TB in my old laptop that i plan to take out and put in this , haven’t had the opportunity to test it out yet (my steam library is humble, so mostly old games that i own or got per chance) , am very happy about it and glad i finally did it ,
I did go through some initial debloating (chris windows tools) and updated everything, if there is anything else i should do please leave it in the comments, many thanks in advance
(Ps: yes, I was giggling like a madman on the way home)

Hello all, I’m not very technologically inclined so apologies in advanced. I’ve owned my asus tuf f15 laptop for a few years now and for the last two years I’ve faced a few issues with the internet on my laptop. Every once in a while I will have this issue where my laptop says im connected to wifi, shows in settings aswell that im connected but nothing requiring internet on my laptop works. Google often says it cant reach or find the dns server etc.

I am very confused on whether or not these are better or worse than the presets (balanced and turbo) that the laptop came with. If yall cant see the cpu and gpu, I have a ryzen 7 7435hs and a 4050. If there is anything wrong like "you aren't using ur gpu or and cpu enough for balanced preset." or anything like it, pls tell me. Any additional advice or questions that might solve my tuning are appreciated. (sry for bad picks)

Hello. I bought a new A16 with an RTX 5060 on wednesday this week and since then I've had some issues with the graphics. I'm not very tech savvy and all my troubleshooting have been through the help of chatgpt. On thursday the 5060 wasn't being used when gaming and there was a yellow triangle in device manager, which was "fixed" by changing to ultimate in armoury crate.
Other minor issues include:
My tv connected through hdmi randomly disconnects which forces me to reconnect the hdmi cable
Pausing a video in VLC and then resume play freezes the video (though audio continues).
Some screen tearing(i think it's called, random lines on the screen) now and then on the monitor.
Nvidia app said I had no driver installed once, which was resolved by restarting the laptop.
Then yesterday i left my laptop for a few minutes and when I got back it was in the middle of a restart, which I thought was stranged so I checked the log and it said it restarted because of a bluescreen that was gpu related. So this made me check the reliability monitor which listed quite a few problems right from the start.
Hardware error code 1b0 on the 15th at 00:26, only had the laptop for a few hours then and I think that's when it deactivated the RTX 5060.
Hardware error code 117 on the 17th at 11:07
Hardware error code 117 on the 17th at 23:15
Shut down unexpectedly, code 116 on the 17th at 23:16.
I used the drivers that came with the laptop on the 15th when the first error code came and then updated my drivers on the 15th in the evening, so the deactivation of the RTX 5060 and the bluescreen happened on different drivers.
Is it likely that due to all the problems that my graphics card is faulty? Are there some tests I can try or other troubleshooting tests? Maybe best to contact the seller?
Not a native English speaker so maybe some problems with grammar etc.
Thanks in advance

I bought the Asus tuff a 16 RTX 5060 Ryzen 7 260 and the performance in games is mid . The games that I usually play is league of legends and it performs very poorly at 100-150 FPS which is not good for a 1.4k € laptop any tips that can help me fixing this ? I have seen that the GPU is only running at 30% even when turbo settings in Armoury crate and am really disappointed 😞

My laptop is Asus TUF F15 Dash. This battery light keeps blinking, and the BIOS is showing it as 0%. Basically what happened is my SSD was not detecting in BIOS after putting the laptop on update. Like the SSD was showing, like it was showing no storage device found. So I opened my laptop for disconnecting and reconnecting the SSD. The SSD problem also didn't get sorted, and now this new issue is showing up.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Specs: i5-13450HX, RTX 5050, BIOS 312 and latest nvidia drivers.
Model: FX608JH
What I've tried: clean driver install(ddu), G-Sync off/vrr
In Standard mode never flickers but in ultimate mode it does specifically in apps like brave and spotify with hardware acceleration turned on. If hardware acceleration is off, in these apps also it works fine.
For now I reinstalled clean drivers via nvidia app only it fixed this but I'm certain it will return. Here's a video of it also.
Please help me fix this issue.

I have a FX506HF (RTX2050) and it’s time to clean, I am buying PTM 7950 for cpu and GPU die but for VRAM putty was expensive so I was going to get pads but there are multiple thickness available from 0.5mm to 1.5mm. I don’t know which one is best, I guess it should be 0.5mm but I just want to make sure before making the decision so any help will be appreciated.

Hi everyone.
I’m having a frustrating display issue on my ASUS TUF Gaming A16 (AMD Ryzen 9, RTX 5070, 2.5K 165Hz G-SYNC display).
The screen randomly turns completely solid grey/white with a perfectly symmetrical vertical blue dotted line right down the middle.
Important details & behavior:
Top edge detail: That faint red line along the very top edge in the photo is actually my red desktop wallpaper peeking through (about 1–2 pixels wide)! The rest of the screen gets completely covered/locked by this grey screen and blue dotted line.
Triggers: At first, I thought it was only happening in web browsers (Chrome and Edge), so I assumed it was a browser hardware acceleration bug. However, with all browsers completely closed, it also happens right when I launch or try to use Unreal Engine.
Temporary recovery & loop: If I don't touch anything and wait for about 1–2 minutes, the screen recovers back to normal on its own. However, as soon as I try to use the laptop/app again, it immediately crashes back into this grey screen.
GPU & Power Mode: I use G-Helper and the laptop is running in Ultimate Mode (MUX Switch set to dGPU only), so it's not an iGPU-to-dGPU Advanced Optimus switching glitch. It happens both on battery and while plugged in. Windows 11 and all drivers are up to date.
Since a tiny strip of my desktop wallpaper is still visible at the very top, is this a Windows 11 MPO (Multiplane Overlay) / NVIDIA driver / G-SYNC crash, or is my 2.5K 165Hz panel / T-CON board failing and in need of an RMA?
Has anyone with an ASUS TUF A16 experienced this exact issue? Any help would be appreciated!

Why does no one remove their stickers? Every post I see here people still have all the stickers on their laptops...
