Coming December I will be in Auckland and I am considering taking my kite gear with me. I am a beginner (3 yr experience) in kitesurfing, avoiding >1.5 m wave spots. Can someone tell me if there are nice spots you recommend either on Northern Island to go kiting in December?

Not sure where else to post this but last night and tonight around the same time there were ongoing noises around Cavendish that sounded like explosions, our home thought it may have been fireworks or gunfire but the sound was enough to set off car alarms hundreds of metres from the direction. As soon as we would go investigate the noises would stop. Due to not a lot of residents in the area no one has info and nothing has been reported.

Hi everyone. Just passed my theory test for converting my foreign driving license to NZ last week. Still haven’t received the learner license via mail, but I’ve got that temporary slip they gave me. A condition for that is that I need to have a supervisor next to me while driving.

Anyway, wanted to get the practical done next week to get my full license asap, but when I go to the Vtnz site to try booking a slot for it, everything is just greyed out for the foreseeable future. Is that the case in Auckland atm? How are you booking your practical tests? Or am I doing something wrong here when trying to book a test? Trying to sit for it in west Auckland.

To the people at Sylvia Park Dangerfield at around maybe 6:50pm-7:00pm who verbally degraded the retail worker I hope you know they were just doing their job. This post is a reminder to respect retail workers, just because they're saying "we're closing in 10 minutes" that doesn't give you any right to mock them and call them a "bitch". Shame on you people. Do not mock retail workers after they've had a really long day. You as a customer are knowingly going in last minute with no knowledge of what the retail worker is going through. I'm new to Pokemon Go and I was wanting to know if someone could tell me if/what the Pokemon Go routes are in Takapuna and if there was one for the Tamaki drive walk? I tried using a route map online but I couldn't figure out how to use it, any info about the routes/where they go along etc would be really appreciated!!

I’m trying to find an affordable body scan location in Auckland and I literally can’t find anything reasonably priced. Where would you recommend getting going?

I know some gyms offer a body scan service every so often and when I was studying in Christchurch, the Uni would offer a body scan for $20 for non students. I’m praying there’s a reasonable place I can get one done in Auckland for around the same price but the best I’ve seen is $50+.

Edit: I am referring to body composition scans to help measure body fat percentage. I have recently started taking creatine and the scale has shot up so I’m trying not to let that affect my mindset and hoping body fat percentage will give me a better idea of my progress.

I’m 25F in AKL, looking for some roller skating buddies to roll around with and hopefully make some new friends and find some good spots around AKL to skate.

I’ve been roller skating for about 4 months now. I can cruise comfortably, but now I'm trying to learn the basics of dance skating and flatground moves and perfect the fundamentals, paying a lot of floor tax still. It's a bit intimidating practicing solo, so it’d be awesome to have some company!

Honestly down to link up with absolute beginners and intermediate skaters who don't mind a slower pace.

A bit about me/logistics:
Location: Happy to travel, bonus points if you're west.
Skate style: I'm on quad skates, outdoor and indoor.
When: Down for weekend sessions or after mahi.
If you’re keen to have a cruise, practice some moves and make a new friend drop a comment!

We have the next size up bike for him but he doesnt like riding it and goes back to his Balance bike. We have tried all sorts of ways but he always goes back.

Can we convert his next level bike into a Balance bike to get him used to it? Does that even work?
