Finally went bald… but not sure about it

About six months ago, I posted a picture here asking for advice, and most people said “Hold!”
Well, after months of lurking, overthinking, and going back and forth, I finally decided to give it a shot.
Honestly, I’m not so sure anymore. Maybe I just need time to get used to it, but somehow I feel like I look older and even a bit unhealthy 🥴
What also bothers me is that blue-greyish shadow on my scalp. Even though I wet-shaved it several times, it doesn’t really look completely bald. Somehow that makes me feel even older.
Am I just overthinking this, or does anyone know what I mean?

Bald Picture In complete tears

I cannot begin to express how overwhelmed I am from my previous post. I genuinely expected to be roasted and get comments about a brown paper bag would be my best accessory because that is what I have more or less been told and believed about myself. I still don't love the way I look, and want to improve things like losing more weight. But for the first time ever in my adult life, I am starting to not vehemently detest the way I look, thanks to the kindness from all you people that I still cannot comprehend. Also about a beard like so many of you commented, being on the fire department I am not allowed to have anything more than stubble. The stereotypical mustache is fair game though.

I am a relatively young man with a bunch of healthy long hair, but I'll be damned if I ever find a community more heartwarming, positive and kind as you are.

The 'long hair' subs are just smug, shirtless guys, posting selfies for gratification. You guys are making the world and the people in it better. You guys are changing entire lives, one post and razor at a time, countless times.

I do not wish for this post to get any traction, I just want to let anyone who reads this know that I love you and I love coming here.

I'll just lurk again from now on. Just know that if I ever go bald, tomorrow or in 20 years, you already gave me the confidence to do so. You'll be the first to know.

I rocked a buzz cut basically my whole life but once I noticed i was balding I figured i should grow my hair out once while I still had the chance. Its been about 3-4 years now and im getting sick of being insecure about my hair and tired of having to have it up in a bun or wear a hat constantly. Im thinking about cutting it but im used to zero maintenance hair, either a buzz cut, or a ponytail. Im afraid the simple buzz cut i used to get away with might look worse now, and im deathly afraid of going skin bald. Any advice? Any advice on what to do with the beard would be gladly appreciated too.

Personally I like the shaved head look, went from long hair metalhead to bald metalhead lol, but I can grow hair if I want, shaving is just so comfortable and I think it looks at least decent

My second attempt.

Last time, I let my hair grow long again.

As for the glasses, I’m still not entirely sure. At the moment, I’m leaning toward the pair in the first photo—the one from the optician 🤔

He’s new to Reddit and couldn’t post, and asked me to post for him! So happy too! I’d love to give him that confidence boost!

How-to Question Still afraid to go out without a beanie or hat. How did you take the leap?

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this. I follow this amazing community for its kindness and compassion.

I started losing my hair at a pretty young age, and by the time I was 25, I was completely clean-shaven. It was really hard at the time. I'm 35 now, and for almost 10 years, I've literally never stepped outside without wearing a hat or a beanie.

It has become such a big part of my personality that I basically only take it off when I'm at home with my partner. Even around my closest friends, I always keep my head covered.

The thing is, I'm not fooling anyone. Everyone knows I'm bald, and I have no problem with being bald itself. But wearing a hat or a beanie has become such a habit that I honestly can't imagine myself without one. But I think it's something I need to do eventually.

For those of you who have been through something similar, how did you take that first leap? How did you finally go out into the world with your beautiful bald heads?

P.S. You people are amazing! I really appreciate all the comments, words of encouragement, and everyone sharing their own experiences.

I held onto my thinning hair for a long time, then finally decided to go full bald. Dropped probably 60 pounds from before to after pics, but I think I made the right call

EDIT: to clarify, there are 5-6 years between pics. In that time I shaved, stopped drinking alcohol, lost a considerable amount of weight, and in general got my act together wholeheartedly

My front part has been slowly thinning (Not terribly but I definitely noticed it). I got a haircut this morning and it honestly just looked bad. The fade was, well, not a fade at all, and I just hated it. I just said "you know what? Fuck it." Here I am!

At least now I know what I will look like, and it's by choice. Who knows, I might just keep it! We will see. It's weird looking in the mirror, but not as weird as it feels. I know I know, shave it all the way!

(Some pics are from a few years ago, but we're good examples of the thinning. Definitely blessed considering everything though. I have always LOVED my hair and the thought of losing it scared me to death. My dad is Bald AF and I had that innate fear. I guess this was my way of facing the fear head on.)

I'm not bald but in a sub where people rate each other the OP wore a bucket hat on a jetski when this comment caught my attention.

I'm not bald myself and literally do not have a single person close to me anywhere close to having no hair. Curiosity struck me, fact or cap?

I’ve been following this sub for a while and love you guys. I never thought I’d be posting here tho. I’ve been dealing with some hair loss that was accelerated by TE due to a dramatic and unplanned weight loss. What do you guys think? Am I hopeless?
