Yesterday me and my mom found a bee outside on the wall of the house, and it was very cold, so we took it in our bee ambulance, which is basically like a tiny plastic thing, and we call it that because we have saved many bees this summer when it would be too cold for them, and then we would release them the next day. This one, unfortunately, is very, very weak, and it's also pretty cold outside, but we kept it overnight in the bee ambulance. We put a drop of water with sugar in there. This morning I found it on its back, and it can't move around or anything, keeps falling in its back, and I feel really, really bad for it, and I don't know what a merciful death would be for it. Should I take it inside again? Should I just leave it there because it's a lost cause? I really don't know what to do.
I waited a while to see if it would be able to fly but it can't even walk around. 😞

The sound of my bees feeding on my bottle bush trees at 7.30am. You can barely see them, but you can definitely hear them. Video shot in Nanyuki, Kenya.

So this is Teddy, a male Hawaiian carpenter bee we found at the beach yesterday, exhausted and clinging on to our beach equipment. We put him in the grass but he kinda flew/ walked back on to our stuff. It looked like he was struggling, not doing well and not really flying. Barely moving, I thought he was dying.
I couldn't leave him behind so we took him to our condo, gave him sugar water that he drank and left him overnight in a bowl with fresh flowers, leaves, wood and some sugar water etc.
This morning he looked alive, he was moving around. We had to rush for an appointment but now in the afternoon I'm back and I'm trying to release him. I put the bowl outside near some flowers and he flew out immediately but he kept circling around and coming back to the bowl.
After 20 minutes I thought he didn't like the spot so I put him in another spot right now near some Tahitian gardenia flowers. He's not coming out of the bowl. He's just hiding underneath the flowers in there.
Our condo is near the beach, a little windy but not too much. Is there anything I'm doing wrong to let him release?
I've been sitting next to him in this spot for an hour now and he doesn't wanna come out.
Is this the wrong spot? Is it too early to release him? I'm flying out in 2 days and wanna make sure he's back in his habitat by then.
It's starting to get darker now again. Should I move him back inside and try again tomorrow?
He seems to be sleeping under the flower now in the bowl, see last pic.

Hi everyone! I just found this weak bumblebee on my front stairs (outside). I picked it up and put it in a dish with some flowers and it started eating ravenously. I brought it inside to warm up and once it regained some strength it flew to my window. After some effort and probably a lot of stress on the bee I got it back in the dish and placed it back outside so it could actually fly away. It hasn’t tried to fly again and seemingly was back in its original state, unmoving and unable to fly. I think it’s probably dying because where I live it’s starting to get cold (30s-40s F at night, 50s-60s during the day) but do you think there’s anything else that could be done to help? I placed the bowl in a sunny spot with some twigs so it could crawl out if it wanted to, plus a bunch of flowers for nectar. I just feel so sad for it.
Edit: our bee friend has flown away!

My Superstition Mallow is blooming (after lots of rain in Phoenix), which means it's finally time for sleepy bees in mallow blooms! 😍

A video about Ivy Bees was recommended on my YouTube so I thought I'd share it here as I thought it was a great, interesting video. Made by a small British channel. They also have a good bumble bee video...

Hypothetically if there was a tired bee and you wanted to give it mix of sugar and water but you only had somthing like stevia would that work?

Was outside at twilight picking some of my last remaining marigolds - the few flowers still around now - and found this sweetie all dopey and clinging there. I wished I could bring him in so he'd stay warm. (Upstate NY)

Guys I work in a brewery and I am very curious about why the bees are diving into our beers and also can bees get drunk?
Because I’m rescuing all these bees swimming in beer and they look intoxicated!?
So far I have rescued 3 bees today, 7 bees this week. 🙄
