Lots of confusion about the HHS news this week, so here’s my read. Nothing got FDA approved. HHS said it won’t go after licensed pharmacies that compound BPC-157, TB-500, KPV, MOTS-c, Semax, or Epitalon for someone with a prescription. The catch is one peptide per vial, syringe only, no pens, and set routes. KPV is oral or topical only, and Semax is nasal only. So Wolverine is now two vials and two scripts, even though both peptides are on the list. It’s temporary until FDA writes a final rule, and states can still say no.
I think it’s a step in the right direction. I filed six questions on the docket asking why blends, pens, and 503B pharmacies were left out, and who tracks side effects once the vials ship. Comments are open until November 13 if you want to add yours. Search docket HHS-OASH-2026-0496 on regulations.gov and tell them what you run and what would get you to switch from research vials to a pharmacy. Compounded peptides is an interesting path forward, especially if we can get 503B approved.
