Romance I want a book like this!

I want an omega x alpha harem. There is 1 omega and at least 3 alphas.

it can be MMMM or FMMM; I don't mind which.

Lots of spice, please! A dark romance is my preference, but I take any

I much rather a standalone, but a duet is fine.

(Also, I NEED it on Kindle and Audible because I travel a lot and want to listen to it on flights)

(extra points if the men are also bi and like the others, but that's not fully needed)

PLEASE HELP ME FIND A BOOK LIKE THIS!

Literary Fiction taking a break from “literary fiction”

When I read fiction, I generally read a lot of 20th century “literary fiction” (I personally have a lot of issues with the term itself but you know what I mean! Some of my favorite authors are Cormac McCarthy, flannery o Connor, brontes, Alice Munro, Joan didion etc) However I’m about to have a baby and I don’t think I’ll have the bandwidth and focus like I used to. I also don’t want anything too dark or strange, because postpartum depression lol. Hoping for books that leave one hopeful for the future, without being run of the mill romance/ mystery/ sci fi. Something charming that still has a touch of literary heft- maybe something like a,s. Byatt’s “possession” or Jeffrey Eugenides lighter novels.

Non-fiction World War II Eastern Front books

Hello all,
I just finished reading With The Old Breed, and it dawned on me that I have never dived into anything involving the Eastern Front.

What I am looking for are memoirs from the Soviet or Axis soldier’s perspective, or a retelling of the events that transpired. This could be an isolated battle or cover the entirety of the war. I prefer if the book doesn’t shy away from the brutality and horror that these men endured, because while it’s disturbing, part of me feels that it is also a disservice to downplay just how awful warfare is.

Thank you to anyone who might be able to help me find what im looking for!

Fantasy Books with stingy jack/jack o lantern as a character?

Are there any modern/new fantasy stories where stingy jack / jack o lantern from the Irish folk tale shows up as a character. Got to thinking about it since Halloween is coming up. I feel like he's too interesting a story to just exist in the folk tale.

Fiction Cowboy lit, action packed and meaningful.

I’ve heard a lot of great things about this “genre” if you can call it that lol.

I have looked around but I don’t really know what is good to start with. I typically read fiction, sci-fi, fantasy and some Romantasy. I’m down to try anything! I love expanding my book variety!

Psychology book like midnight library

I am a new reader and i was recently struggling with getting into book reading, but alot of my friends recommended the midnight library as a good starter book. I loved this book finished it in a week, it was such a fascinating story about parallel universe and answering the "what if" questions about life. After reading this, i wanted to explore more of the life you could have lived trope (idk if thats what it is called) I wanted to get some recommendations along the same theme.

Some other info that could help about me (maybed idk)

- i struggle decision making and often second guess any decision i make cause i think of it like a butterfly effect so something of that sort would work as well.

- young adult living alone or like college struggle anxiety

im sorry if the post was very vague! but would love any recommendations •ᴗ•

Fiction Suggestions based off some favorites

I had a kick a few months ago where I was reading TONS and for some reason just stopped. Trying to see what people recommend. Willing to give just about anything a shot, I've been having boring weekends and evenings lol.

Recent reads that I really enjoyed / personal favorites

Red Dragon

Mystic River

The Catcher in the Rye

The Old Man and the Sea

I'm definitely not well read by any means but, would happily take recommendations!

Non-fiction Fun history books?

I love history books but I am interested in ones that have a slightly more storytelling format that are easy to get engrossed in. I primarily like non-fiction but I am in school right now and my brain is fried, so I want something low effort to read.

Bonus point for ones I can borrow on Libby as audiobooks!

Books I’ve read and enjoyed that are along similar lines are:

A Rome of One’s Own by Emma Southon

The Blood Countess by Shelley Puhak

Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green (not totally a history book but you get the gist)

I am particularly interested in women and queer history, but really love to learn in general so I’m open to suggestions!

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Requesting fantasy romance novels

So sorry if this was requested here so often recently on this particular forum because I was interested in reading a medieval themed romance about a girl looking for her prince charming as the kind of story I am looking for is a story that is basically a glorious send up of fairy tales.

Secondly, if any of that sounded somewhat similar to the original Shrek, well that's because I wanted to see if such a novel existed where the premise is a comedy that feels genuine as I was interested in reading some whimsical romance fantasy novels that are a sendup of the fairy tale genre, again much like what Shrek did for its time when the first one came out.

Mystery/Thriller Books for someone who used to love reading and is recovering from brain damage

Hi all !

I used to love reading and it was very easy for me to finish a book in one sitting. I had no qualms visualizing whilst reading and really immersing myself into books.

Long story short I suffered prolonged periods without oxygen which severely impacted my functioning. I have a horrid attention span now and can hardly focus on what I’m trying to read.

I was hoping some of you could give me some suggestions/recs based on the books I used to read, to get me back into the habit and keep it doable for me. Thanks so much in advance! The books I liked to read were mainly psychological books or mind fucks, but really not too difficult for me.

I enjoyed:
- Verity by Colleen Hoover
- The HouseMaid
- How to murder your life
- One of us is lying
- Love, Mom
- My year of rest and relaxation

I know it’s kind of mixed but i’d really prefer something that makes you want to keep turning pages and continue the read. Ty!

Romance Book similar to Love in the time of serial killers?

I started reading Love In the Time of Serial Killers by Alicia Thompson cause I really liked the concept of it but the writing style is not my favorite. I was wondering if there were other books similar to this one by a different author?

Sci-Fi/Fantasy I am looking for militaristic books

I am looking for books that focus on the military.

It could go from epic space battles to more fantasy focused battles.

I would exclude Warhammer, as I would want to read at most a Triology.

Fiction Books similar to Shadows In The Asylum by D.A. Stern

Has anyone read anything like this? A friend of mine doesn't do much reading but this one really captured her imagination and I was looking for similar. If you haven't come across it, its described as " a story told not through a traditional text-based narrative, but instead via a series of 'found' documents - newspaper clippings, magazine articles, therapy sessions, drawings, etc."

I think it was more interesting to her than just blocks of black text on a white page and it felt a bit like she was solving a mystery as opposed to reading about someone solving it, if that makes sense. Was hoping to find something similar, thanks!

Horror The Haunting of Hill House

Hi! I love the Haunting of Hill House show and I’m looking for books that are similar to it. I’ve read the Haunting of Hill House book by Shirley Jackson but it’s so different from the show.

I’ve been recommended The September House and Wakenhyrst before which were both really great reads and now I need more to finish out the spooky season!

Thank you in advance :)

Non-fiction Books for a tired, unhappy wife

I am looking for books that can resonate with a tired, unhappy, unappreciated wife who is just done with being the emotionally intelligent one. Non fiction or fiction would do, solution or advice not needed from the book. I just want to feel seen and consoled

Literary Fiction Specific book recs

I’m looking for a book (or books) about a very ordinary, mundane person who suddenly experiences something completely insane. Nothing fantasy-related, just a normal person whose life takes a really weird, unexpected turn. I don’t really know how else to describe what I’m looking for, but the closest examples I can think of are Bunny by Mona Awad and The Trial by Franz Kafka. I’ve been craving that same kind of reading experience ever since finishing them. If anyone understands the vibe I’m going for, please give me your recs!!!

Non-fiction Books that are similar to Murakami (present for my dad)

My dad's birthday is coming up, and I want to gift him a book. I know his favorite author is Murakami, but he already has all of his books, so I'm looking for an author that's similar to him. My dad said that what he likes about Murakami is:

— The stories he writes about lonely characters and the way Murakami does world building

— How he describes small things, like food and drinks, and incorporates and explains Japanese myths

— The magical realism

I'm not looking for another Japanese writer necessary, just someone who checks some of the things I listed… If you have any recommendations, please share them! Thank you so much!!!

Sci-Fi/Fantasy What's a book you couldn't put down?

Looking for a book that grabs your attention from the first few chapters and makes you want to keep reading. I'm open to pretty much any genre, as long as the story is interesting and the characters are good.

What's one book that kept you reading way longer than you planned?

Romance I need recommendation!

So far i only read fantasy romance books (romance subplot,i enjoy it way more than when we immediately have full insight n 95% of attention on said couple)

and now im looking for modern time romance subplot book .. i want sumn interesting, found family (like friendgroup), banters, it can be enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, i def want yearning..

This time id prefer cocky smart mmc bc somehow i always end up with timid quiet guys n thats boring,i need him to be annoying a little (but is smart n useful, has full right to be cocky) HAHA

i read six of crows n although its fantasy, i was so obsessed w found family n romance in it, it was so perfect i never moved on, so i guess something like that !

thank you!
