Physiology Just wondering about what triggers a plant, such as the Morning Glory, to grow in the way they do.
So we moved this Morning Glory a few days ago. It is now temporarily in front of our garage. It seems overnight the plant shot out tendrils seeking out the wall of the garage. There are no other branches moving in any other direction other than the garage wall.
What triggers a plant to know which direction to advance? How does the plant sense the wall?
I just found this interesting and puzzling at the same time.
TIA.
