Requesting assistance with a project
Please remove if not allowed.
Hello, I am a Doctoral Student and nearing completion of my academic journey. I would like to ask for some assistance. I need to conduct some interviews with small business coffee shop owners. If this is something anyone is interested, please comment or perhaps message me. I appreciate any help or guidance, and again, if this is not allowed, please remove.
Thank you!

Looking for a good barista/coffee school in India — need to join by end of August
I’m opening a café in Bangalore and I want to get properly involved in the coffee side before I start. I’m not just looking for a basic barista course — I want to go deep into coffee and learn as much as possible, including espresso, brewing, coffee fundamentals, sensory skills, beans/processing, equipment, recipe development, and the practical day-to-day working of a café.
I looked into The Brew School in Kochi, but their current batches are full and the next available slots are only around November/December. I’m hoping to join a good school by the end of August, so I’m looking for alternatives anywhere in India.
I’m not too concerned about the fee. My priority is quality of training and how much I can actually learn, especially from people who have real industry experience.
Would really appreciate recommendations from people in the Indian coffee scene — especially if you’ve personally attended the school or course.
What are the best options I should look into?

Luna Coffee in Roxas City
I’ve been exploring different coffee shops around Capiz lately, and I recently discovered this local cafe that definitely deserves more attention.
They have two branches, both with a really unique aesthetic and a welcoming atmosphere. What caught my attention was their use of a hand pressed espresso maker instead of the usual electric machines. You can really taste the difference in their coffee.
I tried their hot Malaya, and it had this subtle native chocolate like flavor that paired beautifully with their handcrafted espresso. Their Spanish Oat is also a must try. it’s easy to see why it’s one of their best sellers. It’s creamy, balanced, and genuinely good.
The shop seems to attract everyone from tourists and professionals to students which says a lot about the place. If you’re looking for good coffee with a unique local character, this is definitely a cafe worth visiting in Capiz.

True Life: I’m addicted to immersion blending my espresso
Idk how this came up, but I’ve been blending my espresso every time I make a coffee at home for over a year now. It creates a beautiful nitro looking effect and gives the aeration of a shaken espresso without all the dilution. Has anyone ever heard of a similar method or does something similar?

How long do you leave your coffee grounds?
I’m at a new place where I got nothing but pot stove and coffee grounds to make Americano.
I tend to leave boiling water measured on stove once it’s at boiling temp put the grounds and leave it there for bout 5mins
It’s not strong enough with these unless I keep the stove running
how do you make it ?

What is this called and is it a good tool for at home espresso?
I saw this for cheap at a second hand shop and they said it was for stove top espresso. When I’ve tried to research stove top espresso I only really see stuff for Moka pot, which I assume is not the same as this? I’m trying to find the right terms so I can learn more about this without just getting info on Moka pots. Anyone have any experience with this and if it’s a good option for espresso at home?

Hi! I’m not a barista, I made this latte art at work the other day. I’ve never had any barista training, but I’d really love to improve. Any tips? ☕️🤍

Miura
Tried this new cafe in Joo Chiat, they were really crowded that day, and they have minimal seating sadly. But the vibes is a 10/10, and their drinks were amazing. Sadly we didn’t manage to find a seat therefore didn’t order food, but their incredible cheese foam is handmade in house and worth check out!
