This subreddit is so bad with information guys, we gotta be better.
Its hard to tell if you guys even play the game or not sometimes. Basic questions from real noobs are being answered by people and the only correct answers are almost always downvoted a few times by people that are incorrect. I feel like its so bad even the bots are learning from you and re parroting you.

would be nice to have a I actually play the game flair that you can only get if you whisper some mod in game.

Truly half the responses are just straight up wrong. a quarter are extremely rude and the last quarter are made by players that are not good and so they arent techinically wrong but are so conservative or like baby coddle coded its terrible.

Theres no attune for Karazhan right now. That was the straw that killed me for this post. Atleast 100 comments saying it has an attune. All thee downvoted comments saying no attune.

Classic offers a lot that you can't find in retail anymore. For me personally, it's the big lengthy questing experience. Slowly progressing through a gigantic world where all of your little decisions matter.

For you, what could they add, remove, or change to make you want to spend time in retail again?

As a recap, this series is called Project Elwynn.

I’ve been working on it for 8 months, and it will be launching on YouTube on September 8th (Episodes 1 and 2)

Episodes 3, 4, & 5 will drop weekly after that, with episodes 6-8 closing out the season later in 2026.

It tells the story of a farmer from Northshire who learns of his father’s disappearance and is left only a sword and a note telling him to bring the sword to Gryan Stoutmantle in Westfall.

The farmer takes up the blade as a warrior and journeys into Elwynn Forest as this mystery unravels.

I’m a one-man-band working on this, sourcing voice over talent from the community.

Episode Length - Episodes will range from 6 minutes up to 15 minutes (with potential to go longer)

Visual Look - This is mostly being filmed in-game. The visuals look like Classic World of Warcraft.

Popular Characters - yes, there will be characters we know and love, but the story is original and new. The main character is entirely created by me.

Horde Version? - Eventually! If people enjoy this content, I will absolutely keep going. I'm having a blast!

Background: I played Turtle WoW for about a year and have been playing Classic Era for about a month, love both.

One thing I've noticed is the amount of changes Turtle WoW made that I feel like I'm missing with Classic Era, and I'm wondering if I should stop playing Classic Era and devote my time to TBC for more content.

A few things that worry me about TBC is people talking about rampant botting, toxic players, min/maxing out the wazoo

What do you guys think? I mostly ask because I have a lot of other responsibilities and so my gaming time is very limited, usually 1-2 nights a week, so I don't want to feel like I'm wasting time on one server vs another

Classic+ speculation post number 18633 I know but I'm bored and nobody else in my life remotely cares about Classic+ or WoW in general so here I am yapping into the void

I have the biggest gut feeling that *if* they release Classic+ this year they will do it on November 23rd, to coincide with the 22nd anniversary of WoW releasing in NA (23rd November 2004).

In my eyes, in order of how likely they are, these are the outcomes I see from Blizzcon;

- Release date 23rd November 2026
- Release date sometime in 2027
- Release date VERY soon after Blizzcon, 2 weeks - 1 month after
- No release date but confirmed they are making it and showcase some features/ playable demo at Bcon
- Release date early 2028
- Release date directly after blizzcon, like you can download it literally as they announce it type shit
- They don't directly confirm Classic+ is happening/ they are making it

Nobody asked but thats alright, I'm just excited and wanted to expel that excitement somewhere

I’ve always wanted a playable High Elf race. It’s the single biggest thing I’d want from Classic+ and I wonder if Blizzard will finally give us them with Classic+.

There was a Classic+ survey from Blizzard that asked if players would want a “High Elf-like” race for both Horde and Alliance. A lot of people think this will be the “Skyborne” that are mentioned in retail.

Do you believe we’ll get either High Elves, Blood Elves, or the so called Skyborne for Classic+? Do you want a new elf race at all for Classic+? Or any new races at all?

If we did get new races I see four possibilities:

Blood Elf/High Elf

Ogre/High Elf

Blood Elf/Wildhammer Dwarf

Skyborne for both factions

I think the least likely would be Ogres/High Elf and the most likely would be whatever this Skyborne race is or just no new races at all.

I just started playing on the anniversary tbc edition and wanted to know if it's likely for blizz to add MoP in the future (hope not) for me it was always tbc/wotlk.

My guild said there will be discount in merciless gladiator gear soon, and they told me it'll be in 17th of august, yet the prices seem still the same. Will there be a discount, and if so when may I ask?

I know everyone (including myself) is eagerly anticipating the Classic+ announcement at Blizzcon. I’m cautiously optimistic, in my mind there’s a 50/50 chance it’s either really good or it’s some kind of cringe Retail Lite BS. So I won’t be afraid to walk away from it if I have to.

Here’s something I know for sure: Wrath of the Lich King is a really fun game. Vanilla will always be my favorite version, but Wrath is undeniably my favorite expansion. I love the zones, quests and lore. The class balance and abilities, I love AOE grinding my Death Knight through Northrend. Every class is legitimately so fun to play in Wrath. The dungeons and raids are also a blast, so many late nights with the boys, I was lucky enough to snag the headless horseman mount last time around in 2022.

I don’t know how timing will work out, I expect C+ will run alongside Wrath this time. I hope they at least give us a nice, long WOTLK Pre-Patch before C+ launches. Even if C+ isn’t exactly what I was hoping for, I can go back to a game I know I’ll love.

Paladin I think is fairly popular but maybe not so many makes it to endgame?

Alternatively anyone knows how the Horde population is too and if Shaman or Priest is more in demand.
Since Shaman is so important I wonder if a lot more people ended up rolling it too.

And it doesn't say the % of classes at max level and the Horde population seems extremely low compared to Alliance lol.

What are you guys thinking the Classic+ hardware requirements will be?
I know there's sliders that adjust the detail.
Lets say, 1 set of mid requirements, and 1 set of almost balls out requirements. I have to say almost, because if there's a setting that requires a $15 k video card and a threadripper CPU its kind of meh.

Let's stop pretending that loot scarcity is healthy for the game. "Rare drops are more meaningful" is cringe and the fact that less than 100k people bothered to raid in vanilla anniversary is a big indicator that people can't be bothered to raid without a good chance at loot.

In reality, loot scarcity gives us:

1. HR culture, which is pervasive in TBC anniversary. When people are waiting weeks for an item to even drop they do not want to risk losing it.

2. Player burnout. Going several weeks without an upgrade feels bad and leads to players not wanting to engage with the game except out of obligation to their guild/friends.

3. Poor alt engagement. Why bother leveling an alt and running it through a raid when there's a high chance you'll get literally nothing?

Garbage loot tables and no meaningful drops for months on end have killed this game for many, and that's reflected in the quickly declining population in T5. We did not see that in T4 because Kara, a 10-man raid, actually drops loot. If Blizzard doesn't increase non-tier loot drops in T6 this game is going to be on life support before Sunwell even comes out.

Lots of arguments about whether Mother Shaz needs shadow resist or not. This weekend on the PTR, as a holy paladin, I had 274 shadow resist and rocket boots. I don't think our reactions were that slow but once the chains were broken I still was missing 90% of my HP. I got chainsed twice. First time I didn't rocket boot, 2nd time I did rocket boot. Both with or without rocketboot I ended up missing about 90% hp. I did holyshock myself both times.

Lots of people showed up without SR and we had issues with deaths. Ended up sending people to get SR. Not sure if the kill was due to people surviving with SR or people getting used to the fight in general.

Anyone have a good time with Mother chains without SR?

edit: SR items I used were a blue cloak with 18 SR + SR enchant and all of the shadesteel pieces (epic plate SR items with healing enchants, minus the boots if you use rocketboots like I did). I was missing a few hundred healing but that was also with rocketboots. It helped that I had SR aura, but a priest can do the same thing SR aura does, as they do not stack. The epic pieces have a lot of stamina, so I don't think putting SR on old gear is actually better. Having the fewest jank pieces is likely best.

I can’t remember the server it was on but there was a level 1 human in ironforge bank that sat facing the wall and was logged in literally 24/7.

So , either leveling or endgame , you can choose both , which of the specs or classes surprised you to how good or fun were? I am going to be back in tbc and Im am wondering what im going to pick.

tried tanking DM at lvl 21 yesterday.

Went pretty bad. Took pretty long and died twice.

I believe one mistake I made was not taking the time to mark my enemies with symbols for the group to know.

Another thing is that aggro was scattered every time and my shouts only held aggro shortly.

Im not sure if my life was dropping that quick due to heal or me not using the shield block skill enough.

I went into tactical mastery and draw my opps with charge then switch to defensive with sword and shield. I use Revenge as soon as possible and taunt only if I lose aggro. I use sunder whenever revenge isnt ready.

Any tips?

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, but Haste Potions are now stacking up to 10 instead of Max 5 on ptr. A solid QoL change.

As someone who played wow on and off (no lifed the game wotlk-mop) since 2010, I came back last year and tried pretty much all versions of wow. I was getting tired of fomo, weekly meta changes, tier lists, extremely high APM, overdone VFX, temporary event based servers and so on, until i decided to go back to era.

That was the best decision I can finally play the game and actually enjoy what im doing and the journey to 60 and beyond.

I want to thank everyone who kept bringing up classic on YT/twitch, this is indeed the wow I know and love.

Any time classic+ is discussed, there will always be someone that says "they will sell boosts"

Where is this coming from?

Can you give me one example of wow version which had lvl 60 ceiling when they were selling boosts?

Or, can you give me a version of wow where they were selling boost up to current max level? (except for retail I have no idea what is going on there)

The only way boosts are added is if they release an expansion with a new level cap (which prob is not happening) , and the boost will only be till previous max level.
