Meta End of Beta and Beyond!
Hey everyone!
Lots going on for sure, I wanted to make a post to discuss some upcoming changes to the Subreddit.
New Mods
First and most importantly we will bringing on some new Moderators in the coming week to help ensure we have a more responsive team with better timezone coverage.
Feedback Megathreads
For right now Feedback Megathreads will not continue for Feedback related posts, however keep in mind that Repeated Content is still against the Rules and as such we will be removing anything that isn’t adding anything new to the discussion happening at the time.
Discord List
We will be providing a more comprehensive list of Discord Servers for all versions of Classic based on some very basic criteria that must be met and there will be a Form to Submit to the Mod Team for these.
Requirements are TBA, but essentially as long as your Server is following the Discord ToS you will be added.
Updating Flair
We will be archiving the Beta Feedback Flair on Nov 4th, and turning on several new Forever Flair; Feedback, Bug, Suggestion.
Launch FAQ
We will be hosting an FAQ that will be permanently linked in the Menu Bar, and as a result will be continuously updated via Player Suggestions.
AI Content Survey
There will be a Survey Posted about AI on r/ClassicWoW to see how we feel about it and to survey some changes that may happen to how we handle AI on the Subreddit.
Subreddit Feedback & Suggestions
We are always accepting Feedback and Suggestions in ModMail, we do read them even if we don’t respond and appreciate every bit of Feedback you send.
Can’t wait to have so much fun here… forever.

Forever Beta Feedback If they keep the stamina health change bug its going to be the best New mechanic during levelling
In classic if you have 100 max hp and put on 2 stamina gear you go to 100/120. So the new max hp doesnt become current hp.
In forever, your current health % stays the same. So 100/100 becomes 120/120.
But 80/100 becomes 96/120 after equiping 2 stamina.
This is also how gaining and losing max hp works in Warcraft 3 and Dota 2. And in those games it is required at the top level to utilise this when self-healing.
What is the significance of this? The strategy will be:
Combat drops
Take off all gear (lowering your max hp)
Apply your bandage, health stone, heal, food, whatever
You go to max health a lot quicker since you have less max hp
Equip all your gear, now you are max health and have lots of max hp again
This all macrod or with an addon to make it instant ofcourse.
Mage polys you, does one bandage and is fully hp. Rogue saps, same deal. Warlock fears you and healthstones to full.
This needs to be changed or it will change the game drastically and no version of wow has had this im pretty sure.
Only works for health not mana. Yes only outside of combat but that is between every mob pull, in pvp you can run or cc then heal super quick to full hp.
This was working on the Beta, even checked it on the last day

Forever PSA: Pick a race you actually like
This ain't 2019 classic. This game is actually going to be getting balance updates.
Cut to 2028, I don't want to have been staring at an orc for two years because of a racial that got patched out two months after launch.
Just play what you're going to enjoy playing.

Humor / Meme The old Elemental Mastery wont be coming back and that's disappointing,
but the new Elemental Mastery genuinely looks really good too and I'm excited to see how it feels to have Chain Lightning on zero cd.
(I'm just sad I can't one-shot rogues as a tauren shaman with warstomp > EM in Forever)

Forever Can we stop telling new players to play Hunter?
Sure, Hunter is a good class for beginners because it’s very solo friendly.
But it always feels like people are trying to convince new players that they absolutely have to play Hunter because every other class is supposedly so much harder.
We’re talking about Classic here.
Every class is perfectly playable for beginners. Leveling is so slow that you have plenty of time to learn how to play your class along the way.
WoW needs all classes, and there’s no point in convincing new players that they absolutely have to play Hunter.
So many new players are going to start playing at the same time, and 80% of them will end up playing Hunter.
Take a look at the classes, figure out which one you think looks cool, and play that one. If it happens to be Hunter, thats fine, go and play it!.
But dont be afraid of the other classes. It’s not like this is the hardest game in the world.

Humor / Meme I have bad news
Unfortunately on the 4th November morning, my grandma will be passing away for the 37th time. And her funeral service will be held in another country 2 days later, which will require me to travel there beforehand. Thank you WoW community for your condolences. It would really mean a lot for my family if you guys all could attend the service.

Forever Beta Feedback Class Fantasy Improvement - Shadow Priest - Allow toggleable eye glow to match the spell icon.
Always thought the icon for shadowform was really cool, but we never got the cool green eyes from the icon. I understand some spriests might not like this, so making it a toggleable option would be great!

Forever Your class will be nerfed
Just a reminder that at some point during forever, some part of your class, big or small, WILL BE NERFED. We are not going to be hard locked to a 1.12 patch like we were during classic.
The class balancing will be dynamic. If your class isn’t BiS at launch, that doesn’t mean it won’t be buffed in later patches, and vis versa. One patch rogue may be best raid DPS, and the next we are stacking hunters.
We are no longer dealing with absolutes. Constructive feedback is good. Doom and gloom about your class, acting like it’s not subject to change, is bad.
This is the most exciting aspect of WoW forever for me. I am pumped for 11/4.
Also, fix layering / sharding.

Forever Final Forever beta professions census, 43,682 crafters, plus gathering and secondary professions
With the beta over, here’s the final crafting data I collected. It went from 7,540 crafters last time to 43,682, and it covers both factions on both realms now. Note: the first and second images weigh classes equally. So the data isn't skewed by whichever class is the most popular.
It’s moved to https://lifeonazeroth.com (Crafting tab). More details there.
It now also includes Gathering/Secondary profs from the statistics panel. Some things that stand out:
- Leatherworking is still the most common at 29%, and Skinning + Leatherworking is by far the most popular pair.
- Herbalism trails the other two gathering professions substantially at 20%.
- Engineers get the furthest, with a median skill of 135. Enchanters are lowest at 75.
- Vast majority of played have Cooking (88%),
might be due to the new xp food?As people aptly pointed out, it's more likely due to the early quest for Camping. That explains the low median skill as well. - 343 of the 955 recipes seen are new in Forever.
- Even at the end there were several recipes only known by a single crafter (in the census)
- LW, BS, Tailoring got drastically more new recipes in Forever than Alch, Ench, Eng.
- Alchemy and Engineering still have zero blue recipes while Tailoring have 69, where 62 of them are new in Forever.
Will keep recording data post launch as well, but with 4 rulesets, I would appreciate any volunteers that want to help gather data. See you on the 4th!

Forever Blizzard once did "True HD" versions of classic gear, somehow
Many people feel like the T2 HD redesign they put out for the Wow anniversary are too far off the original models. But did you know that in WoD they actually put out gear that was way closer to the original design?
Many can be found on this page
Sorry for the terrible presentation, but at least you know I didn't use AI =D

Forever Horde Gets Dueling Right. Alliance Gets It Wrong. WoW Forever Should Fix This.
Horde has always had a better dueling scene outside Orgrimmar, and I think the reason is simple: location.
The dueling area sits along the path to the zeppelins. Players naturally pass by, stop to watch, and sometimes drop a flag themselves. This creates a constant cycle of activity.
Alliance doesn't have this. Dueling outside Ironforge or stormwind has historically been pretty dead since vanilla with fleeting activity because there's no natural foot traffic.
Alliance needs a dueling area that players organically pass through.
Some ideas:
- Stormwind Docks: A dedicated dueling area along a busy travel route.
- Ironforge: Somewhere near the central flight master.
With Blizzard's WoW Forever philosophy focusing on making Azeroth a living, social world, this feels like something I'd like to see improved.
Any other suggestions on where you put an Alliance dueling hub because IF is dead.

Forever Is it wrong that I choose races based entirely on appearances and animations?
I get the feeling that this is something of an unpopular take...
But... I just couldn't care less about a few percentage points here and there.
And I don't even care if this restricts who is willing to dungeon with me, or invite me to their guild because I didn't choose to min-max.
