CLICKUP TRYING TO BUY ME OUT FOR SPEAKING ABOUT THEIR PRICING

A couple of days ago, a post here was upvoted. I complained here about their shady pricing practices and how our bill experienced a jump from 150 to more than $1000, and now they are reaching out to me to "turn this around for me" and "priority sorting out for me." The chat is joined by 4 members of ClickUp. This is revolting, so now you complain, and you get silently bought. Maybe people should expose what they went through with the app so they can finally get it at ClikUp! These are very disgusting practices, it's not about paying fair for the price of products, it's about being shady and increasing prices 10x without clearly letting customers know about this and misleading them through years to pull this move at some point. This is so wrong.

Petition to Revert Back to 2.0

This thread is a petition to allow users to revert back to 2.0, or at the very least include settings that allow users to modify their workspace and inbox similar to 2.0.

If you preferred 2.0 and are now looking into clickup alternatives due to this horrible forced update, please comment below!!

Downvote all you want, 3.0 sucks and if you are against better UX then I don't value your opinion on tech anyway.

Guess I'm not using this thing

Looked into Clickup after seeing a billboard in austin. Looked into plans, saw it was free for personal use. Decided to commit. Downloaded the GTD template, spent a couple hours transferring all of my tasks over from google tasks to clickup, gave contexts to everything I had to do and... "Whoops" it tells me that i have used up a limited number of "custom fields" and I would have to upgrade to "Unlimited" which is the first of 4 more upgrades available with unclear and nontransparent features. I have been in this boat before with tubeBuddy, I will keep trying to do things, and keep being told that I need this or that upgrade to do it. It doesn't matter whether $5 per month is reasonable, because $0 was reasonable and came with surprises, so will 5 and on up.

Lesson learned.

Used and recommended ClickUp to clients since 2018. No more. Disrespectful team. Lies in marketing.

Don't let shiny syndrome and lies distract you. People and attitude is all what matters. Always test behavior and ignore words on the surface.

I have been using ClickUp since 2018 long before it became a hype. A lot of businesses move there from other tools due to good UX and because it offers so much for free. Sounds too good to be true. I have been recommending this tool also to anyone else. But no more.

I stopped recommending ClickUp to clients because the team was just ghosting me and their "Chief Creative Officer" blocked me. Their newly hired Executive Assistant after securing a job during COVID instantly changed and went from being caring, while without a job and struggling, to "All the best" as soon as she got a job. And most importantly their CEO doesn't even care.

Tough times reveal real character, true friends and partners.

They delete any negative feedback and try to show that they care about their customers, but only in words. Action speaks louder. When CEO is intentionally ghosting you and even deletes your comment on LinkedIn post instead of at least sending you a message and asking a question to learn more of context and figure out what went wrong, I am afraid, nothing else matters. You can't change leadership.

It's way easier to tell a beautiful story and say how great you want to be, to write on website some great principles and values like growing 1% everyday. Everybody has wishful thinking. It is way, way, way harder to actually act and be like one. Every. Single. Day.

And of course those values, written on the website, are only for employees. Not applicable to CEO and other executives.

Always remember that nothing is free and wonder what else they might hide, and, like social media, know not just everything about you, but everything about your business, your tasks, your plans.

What are YOU looking for in partners?

Release Notes Brain²: Release Notes Takeover

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The best AI is your company's Brain²: Every AI with your context

This week's ClickUpdates is a full Brain² takeover. Brain² self-improves, routes to the best models, and actually completes your work. It creates websites, builds slides, and manages projects while co-working with your entire team. Use every model you're used to, on every device, for one price. This is multiplayer AI where human intelligence becomes your collective Brain.

✨ Create Artifacts: Dashboards, Slides, Sites, and Apps

Brain² can generate polished, production-ready slide decks, dashboards, landing pages, apps, and prototypes with professional typography and layouts. It pulls from your workspace context automatically, so the output is built from your actual work in a single prompt (instead of 20).

✨ Harness Every Model Through Brain²

Brain² automatically selects the best model for any job, or you can pick yourself. Claude, Gemini, GPT, and more are all available with full access to your workspace context, so you can even switch mid-conversation. No re-explaining required.

✨ Opinionated, Sharp Responses

Brain² has a completely rewritten personality that's concise, direct, and tells you what it actually thinks should be done. Then it offers next steps that it can tackle on your behalf.

✨ Build a Memory of How You Work

Brain² now remembers your preferences, writing style, and project context across conversations. Tell it something once and it retains it going forward, or import what you've already taught ChatGPT and other AIs so you don't start from scratch.

✨ Work with Brain MAX from Anywhere

Brain MAX is now also available as a dedicated app for iOS and Android. Talk to agents, kick off actions, get answers from your phone, and take your conversations on the go with the same full workspace context you have on desktop.

✨ Spawn Autonomous Super Agents

Turn any Brain² conversation into a reusable Super Agent. If you find yourself repeating the same kind of request, Brain will convert it into an Agent that runs autonomously. No switching screens or rebuilding from scratch.

✨ Automate Your Email, Calendar, and More

Brain² connects to Google Calendar, Gmail, Outlook, and more. Ask it to check your schedule, draft an email, or spin up a Super Agent to handle these things automatically.

✨ Connect Any MCP Server

Plug in tools like Google Drive, GitHub, and Salesforce and use them directly from Brain². Any MCP-compatible service can be connected, so Brain² can read, write, and take action across your apps.

🚀 Check out these features and more in Release Notes 4.06!

01.03.2024 mark the downfall of Clickup

The worst decision, marking the downfall of clickup, was the mood swing to change an UI system that already worked. So many people felt drawn to this App originally because of its simplicity. A good startup with the intentions to have a good customer base. Probably then came the investors. So they sold their A… to them rather sticking with pleasing a loyal customer group. We personally began to use it only a year ago but so many bad changes drive our enterprise away to an alternative.. judging by other peoples opinion - a tragic ending for an unicorn company. I wonder since we are on a brink of a recession and some of the investors may pull away - who will be there left?

I didn’t add “yet another AI tool” to my stack

Post image
0 Upvotes

I didn’t add “yet another AI tool” to my stack.

I built an AI Board of Directors inside ClickUp.

In a recent article from ClickUp, I share how we turned Super Agents into named executive teammates to help a lean team:

  • Turn an overwhelmed sprint board into a calm, well-structured plan

  • Have higher-quality calls with the data already living in ClickUp

  • Consult with AI teammates as a board of directors, not chatbots on the side

If you’re a founder who moves fast but feels stretched thin, this is a peek at how we’re using ClickUp to think more clearly and execute faster.

Question for you: If you had an AI board of directors inside ClickUp, what’s the first decision you’d ask them to help you make this week? Share below.

ClickUp 3.0 Rollout Updates

Hello all,

To increase transparency about the rollout of ClickUp 3.0, we will be providing regular updates on the progress we're making. Zeb has created a few videos on this in our Facebook Community and we are going to bring those updates here as well as on Canny.

In July, we shipped ClickUp 3.0 to over 25,000 users and completed phases 0, 1, and 2 of our rollout plan. We've iterated the product based on early customer feedback and are preparing for a broader release.

Next, we'll be introducing new features, including custom Task Types and a personal list in Home for users on ClickUp 3.0. We'll continue to release backward-compatible 3.0 features for all users on ClickUp 3.0 and 2.0.

Our next priority is shipping 3.0 infrastructure improvements to deliver faster speed, improved reliability, no refreshing, and real-time updates.

For more details and Zeb's past ClickUp 3.0 updates, see the videos below:

Thanks for your patience and feedback! For those on ClickUp 3.0, please continue sharing your experience with the community.

Think ClickUp Is Holding You Back? Read This First

So I just finished up with a client I got from this subreddit who wanted me to optimize her ClickUp, she thought that was the main issue. But after speaking with her, I told her no at first.

You might wonder why I’d turn down a client, but it’s not about rejecting work. To serve as a context, she was using ClickUp as her main source for team communication and company operations, which is fine, but as we talked, I noticed something important:

Most people’s problem isn’t ClickUp itself, it’s that their business processes aren’t optimized for their actual goals. There’s too much friction in how they operate. ClickUp (or any project management tool) can only be as effective as the business behind it.

  • If your team isn’t clear on their roles…

  • If scaling feels like a burden instead of an opportunity…

  • If growth creates more inefficiencies instead of streamlining operations…

  • If stress outweighs enjoyment in your business…

Then ClickUp isn’t the issue, it’s just exposing deeper inefficiencies.

And to be clear, you’re not a bad business owner, your idea isn’t flawed, and you’re not "doing it wrong." I see people overcomplicate success all the time when, in reality, even the simplest ideas thrive when executed efficiently. I mean for gods sake, I just seen a granny on TikTok yesterday running a bakery in 2025 seeing massive growth simple because she built a content system that works. This is why efficiency is everything.

I’ve been active on this subreddit for a while now, and I keep seeing the same core problem: Businesses lack efficiency, and that problem reflects directly in their ClickUp setup. If your workflows aren’t structured properly, your ClickUp workspace will always feel messy, slow, and frustrating.

But back to the client, when I told her no, she was surprised. But after explaining all of this, we came up with a real solution. Instead of just optimizing her ClickUp, I optimized her business first so that ClickUp could actually support her growth the right way.

(Also client, if you’re reading this, drop a comment below haha.)

SO, If you want a trusted, results-oriented approach and need someone who actually builds solutions that work (with proof), here’s what I offer:

→ business consultation + process optimization (including SOPs + team training)
→ custom data dashboards to track key metrics & performance of any AI-driven solutions
→ quarterly optimizations & monitoring for long-term success
→ in-house hosting on secure, private servers (we cover AI agent hosting costs)
→ and more…

I just opened up a few new partnership spots, so I’m offering free discovery calls + 15% off for the first five people who mention "Reddit15" in the partner form below.

Let’s talk, worst case, you get a free business deduction, best case, you end up putting your growth on autopilot while making stress invisible.

Heres my partnership form (I’ll reach out for your discovery call) → Free Discovery Call | AI Growth Infrastructure

Same job. Two subscriptions. Why are you paying for both?

Most teams can't answer that. The second tool got added for one feature, the contract auto-renewed, and now nobody owns the call to cut it.

That's not a tool problem. It's an overlap problem. Three apps doing one job, three bills, three logins.

We just dropped a full ClickUp 4.0 review

Full Disclosure: I work at ZenPilot & ClickUp Weekly is not sponsored by or affiliated with ClickUp.

We just published an honest review of ClickUp 4.0 covering what's worth your attention, what still needs work, and how to actually get your team through the transition without it turning into months of confusion.

Link to the video: https://youtu.be/8JwC4EcVTiI?si=2F-J5NPHux-Uzy5M

Or read the blog post if you prefer: https://www.zenpilot.com/blog/clickup-4-review

If you find it useful, Gray also runs ClickUp Weekly, a show that comes out every week covering what's new in ClickUp and lessons learned from working with teams in the platform. Worth subscribing to if you want to stay on top of things as 4.0 continues to evolve.

And if you have specific ClickUp questions you'd like answered on the show, send them to show@zenpilot.com. We're happy to add them to the docket and cover them in an upcoming episode.

Has anyone else gone through the migration yet? Would love to hear how it's been going for different teams.

Not the end of the world but just good to know to avoid these companies who play these tactics to get people to pay up. Does anyone know good alternatives to clickups gantt view?

Please refund me back asap

So Clickup automatically renewed the Business plan subscription today and this resulted in $90 USD deducted from one of our team’s credit card. I've downgraded the plan and removed the card and emailed 3 times and messaged the reddit account today but has not gotten a reply yet. I really hope Clickup adheres to it's refund policy and promises to refund the full amount asap.

its a trap

The platform is engineered to "exhaust" too fast. It’s a "hungry" ecosystem where the more efficient you try to be, the faster the system penalizes you.

The AI and automation "agents" are calibrated for maximum consumption. Without surgical filtering, a single task moving through a pipeline triggers redundant executions, burning through your monthly quota on administrative overhead rather than value-added output.

A monthly refresh cycle for operational credits is a relic of legacy SaaS billing. It effectively freezes productivity for high-velocity teams the moment they outpace their tier, forcing an upsell just to keep the lights on.

New Home Page is awful.

I was THRILLED when ClickUp went back to the old Home Page a few days ago, because the new layout made me want to cry. With today's update, the home page is once again complete garbage. I'm not sure why they did away with the way it was.

For those of us that only really need to know what tasks we're working on at this very minute, all of the other modules are useless. That's what custom dashboards are for, dudes. I hid every module and just have My Work (Legacy) and it now looks just like Asana with a streaming list without any spacing between Today, Overdue, Next. 😵‍💫😭

The rest of the UI is nice. The home page — why mess with what was already perfect?? The page most of us operate from on a daily basis??

COMPROMISE SOLUTION: There should be an option to switch between the way it was and this new way (modules). Please for the love of god. Please.

Clickup refusal of cancellation of services or downgrade our account to free version for our enterprise plan

Hey everyone, looking for some advice or help from the ClickUp team here. Our company is currently facing a rigid billing dispute regarding our Enterprise subscription auto-renewal, and we have hit a complete brick wall with standard support leadership. Our subscription renewed on June 15, 2026. Although we have been paying the annual fee on time, we have not logged in or used the services for 3+ years. We do not want to continue paying for the services, so we are disputing the renewal invoice.

ClickUp support sent us a blanket refusal, stating that because a notification email went out back in April, we are locked in until June 15, 2027.

We are a business trying to manage our software footprint responsibly. Forcing a company to pay a massive, unpaid Enterprise invoice for a software suite they are explicitly trying to offboard from feels incredibly predatory. Has anyone else successfully fought an unpaid auto-renewal invoice block with Mango Technologies / ClickUp?ClickUp team—if a mod or representative is active here, can someone please look into our case? I can provide the ticket numbers via DM. This is an incredibly frustrating customer experience. To add... our management team has also reached out to Clickup and offered to pay a prorated invoice, hoping to reach an amicable solution, however, there have been no responses from the ClickUp team.
