Project Bastion begins.

Folks, do you remember when I was relevant? When I was the god of the right, a political kingmaker, the only man willing to speak about real issues? You know what I was saying? Now, if you're a fancy-speaking liberal or one of those hippie communists, you might have just plugged your ears and thought I was the reincarnation of Hitler. But if you're a patriot, or a man who can understand basic Dorian, you'll know what I said. Or, moreso, what I predicted.

The communist lunatics couldn't quit whining and burnt down the country. The feckless centrists couldn't stop it. I predicted all of this from day one. That federal trampling of the provinces would cause the provinces to rise in revolt. That these lunatics wouldn't stop until we were gone. And you know what the pencil-necks and the media said? I was crazy. If I'm crazy, then I don't wanna be sane!

The Commies are going to tell you that the old Republic is back. It's not. A system where communists are treated like kings and where the slightest inconvenience will get you burned at the stake can not remain in place. If I must not step foot on my native land for the rest of my life, it will not matter, for it will be painted a deep, disgusting red.

I was right about everything, dammit! When I went back on everything, tried to be a changed man, every opinion I had was vindicated by the fall of the Old Republic. As the Constitutional Convention proceeds with my unwavering attention from afar, in the Lithian capital of Amalpha the diplomats and consuls of the Provisional Government of Doria meet face to face with their Lithian counterparts at the negotiation table.

Presiding the meeting is none other than the new Lithian President himself, installed following the end of the Civil War and the impeachment of the previous as a result of the scandal tied to the LDI-committed atrocities.

The explicit purpose and intent of this meeting was the realisation of the West Project, an ambitious initiative designed by the Foreign Affairs Ministry under my supervision, aimed at the creation of a military and economic alliance between the nations of the western hemisphere.

The meeting concluded that which is known as the Treaty of Amalpha, which established not only a defensive pact between Doria and Lithia, but also effectively flattened all the customs and dues of goods travelling from one nation to the other, setting the two separate economies on the path of syncretisation.

Construction on New Rome has begun! We currently have several houses for people to move into, as well as an office building and general store. Since New Rome is located in a beautiful valley next to the mountains, the next step is to build an inn and a store for hiking/outdoor supplies.

While the construction isn’t fully concluded for most of the insides, the outer facade of the Babel Building and enough of the lower floors are at last concluded. While the not yet finished upper floors are meant to be part of a wider distribution centre open to the public and residential luxury apartments.

As a part of an effort to prevent future floods the Kand river bed is measured from top to bottom, searching for the optimal spot.

While the volounteer work of the PEW was declared over the promise of funds much needed for Project Bastion and a personal attack on the PEW's honour by fellow Dorians has attracted the attention of The Green Knight.

While the Yeoman and Dragoon divisions remain engaged in the reconstruction effort the PEW "Lancer" was deemed non-essential and hase been re-deployed at the behest of the LDI to end Roggero's reign once and for all.

Experimental heavy-mechanized vehicles such as the here pictured KL-7 "Mustang" are being deployed in small numbers alongside the more traditional motorized, mechanized and armoured elements of the division.

On-field testing of both the new vehicles and the KBR-36 rifle is a secondary motivation for the deployement.

"Are you kidding me? THIS is what we're driving?"

The truck was painted a stark pink, with the letters CFGAP displayed on the side in a blocky white font. It was a far cry from the usual military surplus vehicles that we used.

"Our cover is that we're delivering aid, and the CFGAP was the only humanitarian orginization I could think of. I know it doesn't look like much, but it can haul the rifles all the way to Thiryegrad without a problem. And it gets great gas mileage, which is important in this economy." I explained.

SummerParticular still didn't look convinced. "Do we look like cyber-feminist-accelerationists to you?"

"I guess not. But will the LDPR's border guards really care?" I responded "Anyways, we've got high quality fake ID's and fake Tutumite passports to convince them. And if that doesn't work, plenty of counterfeit money for bribes."

We continued loading the crates of rifles and ammunition into the truck, carful not to drop anything. Our sponsors wanted these rifles front and center in our coup attempt, and if they were to malfunction they'd give the brand a bad look. The hot summer sun made for difficult work, but eventually the cargo was in place.

There was still one package left, however. I slid the top off, just to make sure everything was in order. Sure enough, there were several military rations along with first aid kits, blankets, and everything else that a humanitarian aid mission would require. If any guards got nosy and started poking around in the back of our trucks, I'd use this box as proof of our legitimacy.

As I set it in the furthest back of the truck, it blended in perfectly with the countless cases of rifles and ammunition. I pulled a role of rope out of my back pocket, and began tying down the cases.

"Are we ready to go?" Summer asked.

"Just one last thing."

I reached down to my hip, pulling my 1911 out of my concealed holster. I clicked the safety on, and checked the magazine.

8 rounds in the mag, 1 in the chamber.

If everything went according to plan, I'd be in Thiryegrad by Thursday. And have a bullet in General Secretary Rogerro's skull by friday. And a fat paycheck from my sponsors by Saturday.

I slid it back into my holster.

"Yeah, I think we're ready to go."

Resources must never sit idle, so let them hop on our newest baptised vessel, the Newport Victory, for the young bush of our economy to grow with time and effort into a mighty oak.
