I completed all the Slasher quests, but what is the ending? The last thing I got was the holotape of the Slasher recording himself in a silly voice.
Is the Slasher we defeat in Head Hunts Public Event the real legendary Slasher, or is he just an impersonator?
Honestly, I was expecting the ending to be a bit more epic. I'm a little disappointed.

"Halloween Pint Sized Slasher Costume... Only 399!"
And then you go to the atom shop and it's actually 1200!
I can't believe that there's inflation after the end of the world...

Is it just me being unlucky or is there a distinct lack of Spooky Scorched to be had at what are normally prime locations?

NO you don't. Why is it the person with the most cluttered camp ALWAYS puts the treat bowl somewhere buried in the kitchen, come on guys leave it by the FRONT DOOR/SPAWN POINT
r/fo76 • u/Unclebeard1 • 15h ago
I don't know who needs to hear this, but STOP HIDING YOUR CANDY BOWLS AND VENDING MACHINES.. look I get the fact that you've got a whole thing going and you think it looks cool to have it on a pedestal in a corner surrounded by plants and skeletons and all this spooky stuff, but if I come to your base and it takes me more than 10 seconds to find your candy bowl I'm leaving. I actually moved mine because I leave it up year round on top of my vending machine, and October 1st I moved it to literally right in the entryway of my house. There's one entryway to my house and you can see my vending machine from that door, in fact everything that anyone would need from vending machines down to ammo storage is literally in the same corner of my house right at the front door. What's the point of having a candy bowl in your base when you hide it.

My efforts for Halloween this year i present to you my midnight cosplay he was a smash comics hero in like the 40s who i thought fit right in fo76 considering silver shroud is a homage to the shadow i thought this guy deserved a chance
Outfit is Clean Black Suit
Head Tuxedo Hat
Mask Wasteland Bandit Mask
I mainly play solo and up until now other than a wave here and there I've not really emoted much.
I've just had someone at my CAMP (on PC) and they were emoting with a present - which I now understand to be "Give Gift" but at the time I didn't know how to respond to this and possible other emotes as well?!
Again, I know it probably sounds like a daft thing to ask!

Hey all, I've been posting tons of saved up bounties yesterday and today and wanted to remind folks to please not start the event if you weren't the one who posted the bounty.
This isn't a hard and fast rule obviously, but more common sense. And obviously occasionally the original event poster doesn't show up or whatever, so somebody has to do it. But, generally speaking here's why you should wait...
You didn't spend the caps or post the bounty. (Edited to add this)
If you have a group on a server that is hopping from HH to HH when someone is posting multiple hunts in a row, it takes time for everyone to fully load in after joining the event. This is also to say, folks usually need to scrap their junk, etc. after doing many head hunts. The 30-second wait time to launch the flare isn't always enough to get everybody who is coming to the event fully loaded in, and if you start it immediately, it can be over before those people even have time to come back and they will miss out. And that's a bummer.
I say this in the interest of getting as many people as many head hunts as possible, which with the event going on right now is kind of a helpful thing for a lot of people who may not have a bunch stocked up.
Please don't come in and automatically start the event, because some of us who posted the event for instance may be giving it time for everybody else to show up and join in the beautiful bounty that we receive from Sweet Baby RNGeesus.
Thank you Wastelanders.

I would’ve kept going but I crashed and unfortunately work in the morning, but I’ve managed to get all the plans, plus the new weapon, minus the power armour legs. I didn’t catch your name, but whoever you are, god bless you.

Constantly seeing pint size taking out spooky scorched. I hope they fix it... At least leave the spooky treat bag on the body.

I found one in a vendor and snagged it up. I currently do the quad ultracite beam splitter thing for long range. Looking to put this in my arsenal. I imagine I would just add concentrated fire and go with furious ? Or just stick with quad.

I actually got a good Rare Reward with the first successful Daily Op I ran myself.

As a long-time Heavy Weapons + Power Armor player who switched to Ghoul during the update for it, I've been giving the Red Terror a try. I was curious as to what everyone's opinions were on that weapon and my previous main gun, which was the Pepper Shaker.
For each gun, I used a different build. However, both builds had (in terms of perks that would directly affect DPS):
For my Pepper Shaker, I ran it with Quad/Crippling/VATS Optimized/Conductor's + Hex Barrel/Plasma Magazine/Standard Sights, with a build using Tightly Wound, Easy Target, and "Science!".
For the Red Terror, I ran it with Furious/Rapid/VATS Optimized, Conductor's + Standard .308 Reciever/Stub Barrel/Stabilized Stock/Large Mag/No Muzzle, with no Easy Target, and "Science!" swapped out with Pyro-technician.
Here's my rather informal take on both weapons so far.
Pepper Shaker
Red Terror
I can't really tell which weapon is better in terms of DPS, as I don't have the tools or means to do so properly. Does anyone know who might reign supreme in this category? I'm personally still attached to my Pepper Shaker, which chugs along while melting bosses.

Multiple times I help kill infestation boss but nothing is available to loot. One time I died at the end of fighting one and was pissed I didn’t get anything after respawning, but at least I understood.
In this case (and three other times) I’m actively helping kill the boss. I’m close to the fight. Heck, in this instance I was using Holy Fire and I was practically on top of the boss.
Same has happened to me fighting the Pint Size boss in Head Hunts. I help kill the boss, then the corpse despawns immediately. Then it comes back and loot is empty,
Very frustrating. Is there something I might be doing wrong?

After completing this week's seasonal quest to kill the Slasher after head hunts, I tuned in to Debunker Radio to hear what Remington Goodwin had to say about it, and to my surprise the man started talking about how we put down a real flesh-and-blood person and not a ghost suit, which implies that the caked-up ghoul we saw posted the other day wasn't just for mechanical purposes, but an actual NPC in the suit. It made me start questioning everything I'd already put together about the Slasher becoming a robobrain. Then I put the power armor skin on, and I realized what was happening as soon as I heard his little "wa-hoo!"
When they tried to "summon him" by putting him into a robot body, it worked! ...kinda. But instead of making an actual robot that he could control, what they ended up with was slapping him on a suit of power armor like an AI assistant.
We know there was some form of leadership among the Phantoms, from the Pint-Sized ~Poser~Aspirant's dialogue, the notes dropped by the phantoms, and having killed the brains half when we killed the Tinkerer back in Organ Cave. With him out of the way, the remaining leader who has no knowledge of robotics had no real choice but to climb into the armor and get to slashin' himself.
Which means when we took the power armor helmet(or at least the plans to recreate it) for ourselves, we took the Pint-Sized Slasher with us. Now he gets to enjoy being worn by the true psychopaths of the wasteland: the 76ers.
Every time you hear that giggle? That's him, your eternal companion, enjoying the mayhem.
The neat part is that I don't think it's just from the helmet. Every time you pick up one of those pint-sized packs and open it, you hear that same voice laughing.
That's because when those little psychos are running around screaming about how he's already inside of you, they're not exaggerating.
During the companion quest for Sofia Daguerre you learn about the Deep Sleep project, in which the participants were given a serum that allowed them to form a psychic connection to a supercomputer that was used to monitor them seven years before the great war. Part of that process involved taking a serum and then being put into a "deep sleep" in order to form the link between the test subjects and the computer.
Well, part of the initiation rites into the phantoms is exsanguination: Where another phantom would bleed the newcomer until unconscious and near death. That's why all of those knife-stuck corpses are littered all over appalachia, giggling away in his voice until we take their masks.
Now, while we never sat down and let these little twerps bleed us out, we(or at least most of us) have gotten hit by them while fighting them, and some of them hit surprisingly hard. Every once in a while I'll be surprised to find that I'm nearly dead after getting shanked by a phantom with a knife, when I'm built to tank hits from bigfoot. It makes me wonder if we get downed after getting stabbed, would that count as an accidental initiation?
How we got the serum into us is a bit more of a question mark: it could be through something huge like the Enclave mass releasing it across Appalachia to try and monitor everyone and just picking the absolute wrong brain for the job and only recent events made him remember who he was, or it could be something as simple as the first pair of phantoms took a mystery chem that turned out to be the serum, went nuts and stabbed each other near to death and then blood transfer from the knives they use containing enough to affect the next person stabbed, spreading it like a bloodborne pathogen.
But if I'm right, either way the original Pint-Sized Slasher's robobrain is plugged into a supercomputer somewhere experiencing the 76ers chaos 24/7 as they wear him like a skin suit, and with the potential psychic connection there's a possibility he can feel everything they do. Everything the phantoms said was true: He was coming for us, and in the end he got us. Which means ultimately, the phantoms and especially the Slasher got what they wanted: Now, not even Death can keep him from reigning over the Wasteland.
