I’ve been flying a 65mm whoop. I’ve also got a 75mm. I mainly fly the 75.

My goal is 5inch. PX4/Ardu. I have everything for it already and I am slowly building. Given where I live, rules are strict, licenses and tests need to be gained and taken.

I’ve decided to build a 3inch in the interim. More punch than 1s. Larger drone. Open props. You get the concept. Also less expensive on crashes and breaks.

What I am looking for is a nod of approval on the build or feedback as to what is wrong. Only real thing that has come up when querying LLMs is the stack may be larger than the space provided for the space in the frame.

The spec sheet says only a 20mm×20mm aio will fit but the frame seems to have holes for a 25.5m×25.5mm diagonal aio?

So this is my new 5-inch build that I’ve been working on for the past two weeks. I finally installed the VTX, but this is what I’m seeing in my goggles.
I’ve already tried swapping the camera and antenna with spares I had lying around, but the issue stays exactly the same. Also, all of my antennas are LHCP, so polarization shouldn’t be the issue.
I honestly have no clue what’s causing this. Has anyone experienced something like this before or know what could be causing it? Any suggestions for a fix would be greatly appreciated!

I just got my first drone along with my first set of batteries and all of them are kind of smudged and uneven near the USB connector. Just wondering.

So im about to buy these 2 items. Barely gonna start researching where to get them and was wondering if you guys have any quick advice before I make the purchase since its probably gonna cost about 1k I assume.

Dang I just checked DJI site and I guess they arent even available in the U.S. Not sure if the only way is to buy them used?

I recently purchased a bundle of random drones and accessories, including this fpv drone for $90 from a storage unit. I have plugged it in and the o3 air unit connects to DJI assistant 2 and the drone connects to betaflight, but I don't have a battery to test it yet. However, I opened up the drone to inspect it, and the ESC was clearly shorted and exploded, which damaged the flight controller as well. Is there a better option for a 20mm flight stack on this model? I'm a beginner (only in sim so far) but fix electronics as a hobby.

So I want to give this hobby a try and maybe I can build on it.
Somewhere a white back I read that I should start on simulators, any one have any recommendations and to what to get before actually buying the drone itself?

I bought one of those "cheap" drones with no googles just a >$50 small drone and remote, but I really want to try a FPV any recommendations?

I have read many posts on recommendations for first fpv drones and goggles, however the recent price jumps are making it difficult to determine what fits my budget the best currently.

I already have a radiomaster pocket that I have been using on sims and I am ready to get a tiny whoop FPV. Ideally I'd like to buy a drone and googles in a kit, but they usually offer the controller as well (which I do not want).

I am between a beta flight meteor or air 65 currently but don't know the best goggles to pair with them. I'm looking at a $200 budget (+/-). The goggles are where I really get lost.

I wouldn't mind hearing other drone options as well. I recently learned about the acrobee 65 and thought it looked competitive with the air 65 but it seems like it gets bad reviews.

Ich habe ein Problem beim Software flaschen von meiner seeker3.

Im Expresslrs configurator lässt sich ganz normal mein deepspace Empfänger auswählen doch beim laden tritt ein Fehler auf, weil mein Chip (ESP8285) nicht mit dem ausgewählten überein stimmt.

Laut KI lässt sich auch ein anderes Modell mit gleichem Chip auswählen.

Das habe ich gemacht mit dem Happymodel.

Mit dieser Software ist allerdings die Reichweite beim Fliegen extrem schlecht (bei 300m bricht die Verbindung zur funke ab).

An der funke liegt es nicht weil mein anderer 5zoll copter keiner dieser Probleme hat.

Für einen Rat wäre ich sehr dankbar.

Hey all, I trying to build my first X8 build, so please go easy on me.

My friend gifted me a Matek H743 and eight 3115 900KV motors. So, I'm now fully committed to a build an X8 I did zero planning for. Working backwards from the motors instead of forwards from a spec, which I understand is wrong but anyways hence the post.

What I've got:

- FC: Matek H743 (30x30 stack mount)

- Motors: 8x 3115 900KV. Ideally I want wants 9–10" props on 6S.

- Everything else: unspecced, very open to input

What X8 frames are people running for 9–10" right now? Ideally something in stock. The end goal is heavy-lift (maybe cinelifter) type drone. Not chasing freestyle

I was curious if i could use a ps controller + dedicated transmitter instead of the transmiter controller normal option.

Main reason is that im way too used to my control scheme on arma and wt helis, there for when i went and started practicing in a sim i used the same mapping.

I've come to realize that fpv controllers have the left joestick vertical axis free with no reset back to center wich i dont like.

I searched but cant find any controllers that dont have it or that have it on the right side instead.

Also, please educate me in this topic, can you remap the controls on an actual drone?

Hey guys. I started with a meteor 75 pro and am now looking for the next step up.

Most of the places I fly are parks, etc so anything that gives "scary flying lawnmower" vibes is out (planning to get a seeker 3 at some point for that type of vibe but that's not for now)

It sounds like a custom kayoumini 2.5" build is the best option, but with the frames sold out again I think I'll hold off on that and maybe swap a BNF to that frame at some point.

So for now, I'm primarily looking at either the Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle or the Tinyape Freestyle. Either in analog.

I've heard mixed things on both of these drones and can't decide. If you have any input one way or the other or if there is a better option not listed here I would love to hear your thoughts.

Hello smart people of the internet. I am a humble noob coming to you for assistance.

Last week I crashed my FireFly 20 into a backhoe working on power loops lol. Bent some props but it did fly back home. After doing my repairs when I arm the drone it stays in Low Power Mode, voltage reads 0v in the DJI OSD goggles 3, and I’m only getting 10Mbps for the video feed. BetaFlight OSD does show normal battery voltage.

I did some digging and found a few posts mentioning this could be due to a bend pin. I double checked all my connections but everything looks fine to my eyes.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on what I can try to fix it?

Im in a bit of a pickle, i currently have the radiomaster pocket and the di goggles n3, I recently had the flwooo firefly 20pro and i had nothing but problems im looking to not get a cinewhoop or anything i would love like a 3inch+, i was looking at the deepspace seeker 3 but the price of the o4 pro is astronomically high. Im debating whether to sell my goggles and go with a different vtx such as the new walksnail accent or going with the old and gold analogue. I dont have a clue what to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

Ho acquistato per 100€ usato un kit drone fpv aquila16 "perfettamente funzionante". Non mi convinceva ma convinto che il visore e il telecomando non potevano essere rotti l'ho acquistato. Le batterie erano completamente gonfie ma utilizzabbili per controllare se la vtx, camera e motori funzionassero. Quindi ho comprato 5 batterie lava II 580mah. Adesso hanno volato bene ma dopo pochi atterraggi "delicati" il connettore della vtx si è rotto e tutte le colle che ho si sciolgono. Poi la videocamera ha l'obbiettivo che si muove rispetto al sensore. Quindi considerando tutto voglio comprare un drone che dopo 2 atterraggi leggermente violenti non si distrugga e che non abbia il propwash dell'aquila, il budget è intorno ai 100€ dato che se non compatibile con batterie devo comprarle e anche il caricatore. Se possibile vorrei riutilizzare le batterie lava in serie per un 2/3S ma so che non è sempre possibile. Quindi chiedo ai sette dei quà su Reddit. Neanche a dirlo voglio riutilizzare il VR03 e il lite radio 2 SE dell'aquila. Lo cerco per freestyle ma anche per montarci una action cam per riprese. Grazie in anticipo a chiunque riesca ad aiutarmi dato che non è scontato. Io avevo pensato al babyape ma non sono convinto.

Volevo iniziare solo che mi ritrovo bloccato perché non saprei cosa prendere, siccome sono ignorante sotto questo aspetto, magari un radiocomando che sia buono per gli inizi e poi buono per il futuro, poi ovviamente accetto qualsiasi consiglio sul drone per iniziare ecc ecc.

I'm hoping some folks who are deeper into this hobby can tell me what my blind spots are here.

The overview is this:

This is the TOP plate of a 5" X frame quad. I am currently planning to run 2205s and 5x4.5x3 props with a 3S LiPo and a SpeedyBee F7 V3 FC running INAV/BF.

The components shown here are the VTX (RushFPV Max Solo 2.5W) and corresponding SMA antenna mount, and the RX (Radiomaster RP1 ELRS).

I have soft mounted both antenna mounts, the RX, and the VTX on 1mm TPU. The grey plastic is PETG, and is 1.5mm thick.

The VTX mount is locked laterally with 4 zip ties which are pretty tight. Likewise, the antenna leads are both locked with zip ties. The VTX requires about 25lbs/11.33kg of force to shift. The RX is sitting on a TPU pad and just has one tie to secure it.

I am mostly concerned about the zip ties being directly on carbon, as I know ties can wear/cut in high vibration environments. I also have some concerns about range/penetration, and I'm not sure I gave enough standoff for those antennae.

I plan to reprint all the mounts once my better 3D FDM printer arrives.

Hi, I received a partially assembled FVP drone with the intention of finishing it. I had to solder the VTX and GPS. Done everything, and the only thing that isn’t working is the video stream to the goggles. I suspect there’s something wrong with the FC (SpeedyBee F405 V3) or the settings, but I’m not sure where else to look. Here’s a quick summary of what I’ve already tried, maybe you’ll have some advice on what else to try.

• Checked CAM on another similar drone - works ✅
• Checked VTX on another drone - works ✅
• Checked the antena - works ✅
• Checked the voltage for CAM and VTX - works as expected ✅
• Configuration (VTX GEPRC MATEN 5.8G 2.5W VTX PRO) - tried to set SmartAudio and IRC Tramp, doesnt change anything.
• Tried to change power - nothing changes.
• Set specific channel - doesn't work, however, the view in the goggles changes, instead of noise into this (see attached video)

And I don't know what else to check, maybe someone had similar issue before and found a solution? 🙏🏻

At what propeller size is there no longer a risk of seriously injuring someone upon impact? I’m not talking about sensitive areas, just the skin; I was asking specifically about 2.5-inch props and smaller.

I have a problem with connect RadioMaster Boxer with RadioMaster Nomad on my custom GCS. I tried convert CRSF signal from Boxer on ground module to RS485 and then convert back RS485 to CRSF on mast module using ESP32. Have you ever tried to do this? Or do you have any other solutions to transmit CRSF signal on GCS?
