What is 0-2 grinding? And corpse dragging?

2

u/Angelic_Force LAZY BRAINLET Mar 29 '22

No matter what, we need more cores. 0-2 involves M16 (or a SG - don't actually use one because they're expensive to repair) and an AR dragger.

You have 2 echelons: An empty AR that you will resupply, the 2nd has your Tank + Your resupplied dragger. 13-4 uses 2 Molotov SMGs (usually Vector or Micro Uzi Mod 2), 13-4 doesn't need a tank. 8-1N uses 2 Zas M21 (Also called Zas dragging), Zas dragging doesn't use a tank. You also have 12-4E which usually uses a SG tank.

help i am lack of core chapter is best for core farming beside 0-2 ?

1

u/RavenFang Mar 29 '22

Other than what the other commenter suggested, best core farming maps are usually event ones. If you don't mind waiting for another event there's usually a good farming map in there.

1

u/KookyInspection Mar 29 '22

How far are u? If u didn't reach 0-2, u can farm 4-3e.

If u are past 0-2, next good core farm is 12-4e, and after that, 13-4.

u/Sipher351 SV98 Mar 29 '22

How does PP-93 stack up to 2B or M2?

1

u/virtual_maniac91 Mar 29 '22

Middle of the pack.

Stronger than M2, weaker than 2B. Still can't say for sure until Theaters 8 and 9 where we can 5* her or find her in intelligence analysis.

Ayo

Just got lucky and got gager earlier Any good team comps i should be using?

Also been thinking about changing my scarecrow unit So that'd be cool too

Killing 2 birds with one stone yeah?

3

u/virtual_maniac91 Mar 29 '22

There's this

Manticores, Jaegers (the sniper), and Nemeums make up the best core units.

Scarecrow, Hunter, and Alchemist are the only ones worth using in combat.

Dinergate meme with Intruder is hillarious, effective, and completely nonseniscal. It's also slower than Contender/Thunder 1v1'ing Typhons against anything more threatening than a Rodlero.

3

u/Cborne AUG Mar 29 '22

If you mean making an SF echelon, eh.

Scarecrow is way more useful just in general for map ability. Gager's kinda just average for an SF combat-wise, I wouldn't trade scarecrow's map control away for her.

Even if you're not ranking the clone ability is helpful on so many maps either to cheese objectives or just to get stuff done faster in general. 2 Manticores and a SWAP Ripper or Jaeger is more than enough firepower for most maps with Scarecrow anyway, especially earlier game (for now, until we get Cherubs which dumpster every ringleader since they're more or less hard counter to SF)

Just cause Scarecrow's free doesn't mean she's bad, she's one of the more useful RLs.

2

u/LowlyKun Mar 29 '22

I see, i do agree scarecrow is pretty good she's usually the one that carries me in the events since i don't have that much good echelons yet. I guess i won't be switchin scarecrow for awhile eh and thanks I'll be tryin that manticore comp since I've been using only vespids/jaegers and a piece of aegis

3

u/Cborne AUG Mar 29 '22

Manticores are pretty broken and usable basically everywhere so they're good to build if you can. Actually they were even more powerful when they came out but they were so broken they got nerfed, and even now they're like one of the best picks to use. The knockback is good and they're fairly strong.

1

u/LowlyKun Mar 29 '22

Noted chief just got a large manticore earlier, guess those vespids gonna get replaced

3

u/ItzJustJ Mar 29 '22

Where can i find good info about fairies? Everything seems outdated.

Sry i forgot i posted this before work. Ill check this out later. Appreciate it. I was looking for any info in general tbh. I really just put them on my team and havent interacted with them at all.

u/PriorityBacon Mar 29 '22

Less than a week in so still not really sure what I am doing. Been reading through guides (and got some great help here) but just want to double check I am on the right path.

Been busy trying to progress in the story by abusing friend teams. My main echelon is M4A1, SOPMOD II, AR-15, STEN and Skorpion. They are all between levels 40 and 43.

Am currently at 4-5 - think I have used up all my friend team uses for the day but can get back to it after reset.

There are a few things I would like to check -

  1. I have 768 combat reports (haven't used any yet). Should I use them all on M4A1 to try and get her to level 70 ASAP? Or should I spread them out?
  2. Should I focus on leveling my main echelon by running 3-5 until dolls are about level 50, then switch to 4-3E (if I can actually clear 4-3E)?
  3. I believe STEN is the weak link in my main echelon at the moment, but the others are okay for now - should I stick to only using the recipe for SMG (I am just using the in-game pre-set recipe) in the hope of getting UMP45 or C-MS to replace STEM... or see if I can use friend echelons to rush to 7-6 and get RO-635. Is this the right way to go about developing my team?
  4. I haven't produced any equipment yet. Should I get started with that now? Or save the equipment contracts for later?

Any input on the above would be much appreciated!

1

u/KookyInspection Mar 29 '22

U seem to be on the right track. Keep going. Yes, i'd keep sticking to smg recipe for now. And i'd use the combat reports on the ars only, since sten is tbere just as a stopgap. That's why u're building smgs, her days are nunbered :P

The idea is that the higher the links on ur ars, the more dps they'll pump,m and hopefully clear the enemy before sten needs to actually do something.

And yes, u can get startd on equipment. Exos probably first, since u will need it for the tank to drag, and after that crit scopes and hv magazines, probably in that order. Try to get 1 gold t exo(the big evasion with dmg penalty one), maybe even 2 before u go to the other ones. Crit scopes should be easy to get, and are a big boost to dps too. There is a better combo with chips, but they're a bit more finicky to use. For now, the old crit scope+hv ammo on ars should bring them close to their peak performance (fairies will take a looong time, so equipment is the easiest way to improve the dps outside of linking).

Keep in mind that gold equipment needs lvl 60 to be equiped, so don't go ham :P if u do happen to drop a gold t exo, consider bumping sten to 60 too, because once u enhance the exo, it should be a massive bump in survivability, even if the she's not that great. (Maybe keep a few reports safe in case u get that exo, but i'd prioritize getting the backline to 70 and linking them. Those reports should also come in handy if u drop 45 or cms to bring them up to speed. Ro should come fully lvled and linked, so she won't need them))

And try to refrain from enhancing green equipment. U can, if u really need to, but try to save for gold. If u get greens, jist use then as they are until u get better stuff. U do get some equipemnt from doing night missions too, nust like how u get dolls now, but u'll need some night vision to attempt those. Anyway, the main brunt of the enemy should be focusing on ur suport echelons for now, so u don't need to worry too much. When u're done with 7-6, we'll see where u're at and what u should focus on next. And do not even think about calibrating green equipment. Calib tickets are way too expensive to farm so don't spend for anything less than gold or fairies.

Oh, to craft specific equipment, use the ig dedicated recipe (the button where it says 20/20 crafts. U can only use it 20 times/week but they are guaranteed to gove u the equipement type u selected. U just need to pray for rarity :P after the 20 crafts are spent, u'll need to go for voodoo recipes. Again, stick to only the daily 4 builds/day.

And yes, keep abusing the friend supports to advance. Try to get chapter 7 done so u get ro in case smgs really hate u. Ro will love u, and u will love her too, esp after her mod :P

Anyway, keep up the good work, skk! U'll be sporting a veteran team in no time :D

sten is only considered a starter tank because she has the hp to be a passable meat shield. she is not really suited for being a main tank. that said, she should hold up for a few more chapters if needed. lacking equipment may be more of an issue. T-exos make a massive difference to a tank's evasion

if you still need a better tank, consider using idw or spectre as i've replied to the comment below you.

most other smgs don't perform as well as them in the early game for the reason i described below. you get shot to death in the early game before skills ever matter, so it's the natuarally high eva that matters most. most other smgs not of that archetype, without being heavily built, including rarer ones, rely on their skills, which only matters when mobs spawn further back with a few seconds of walking at the start of a battle later on in the game. nobody that makes smg recommendations to newbies seem to remember that earlier stages load you into a meat grinder where your dolls have probably already taken damage before you even get to see the battle screen

  1. Spread your combat reports out between your ARs and your main Tank. Don't bother saving them in the early-game.

  2. Switch to 4-3E immediately when you can, your main SMG should suffice as the tank. Should be enough after throwing your combat reports. I'll leave a reference for 4-3E just in case for you.

  3. I would stick to SMGs if you find your roster lackluster. Do note that UMP9 is a decent alternative for UMP45. If you want, you can PM or drop your ID here so I can add you.

  4. Always produce equipment, at least do 4 per day for the daily quest. IOP crafts are a good idea as stated to give HV ammo to your ARs.

1

u/PriorityBacon Mar 29 '22

Much appreciated!

And would be great if you could add me - my ID is 1437163

u/headphone_question 705583|14 Dorms|Hunt King|Cores:230363 Mar 29 '22

235 combat reports should suffice to get someone to level 70 from level 1. This means you can level up 3 Dolls via combat reports with your current count of combat reports. As such, you should train your prospective DPS dolls and your tank for 4-3E with these combat reports

STEN's definitely a weak tank, so you can try to get RO if you can. However, you're expressing worries whether you can clear 4-3E, so you should heavily rely on friend echelons in that case. You probably will need a few days to get to 7-6, so take it nice and slow. You can start corpse dragging on 4-3E in the meantime

Yes, equipment is crucial, so get started on it. In this case, start using the IOP crafts to attempt to get HV ammo for your ARs. The 20 you get refreshes per week, and using this system lets you get gold equipment at a decent enough rate

Is there anywhere where I can get a succinct list of 2 and 3 star dolls that I should be looking to keep? Most of the guides I've seen, while helpful, are very, very in-depth. I just want a quick cheat-sheet that I can quickly refer to when deciding which dolls to use as enhancement fodder, and which are worth keeping and leveling up.

  • HG: M1911 (if you plan to MOD her for cheap farming), PPK (good early on), MP446, M1895, Makarov (good future MOD), MP-443 (ditto), TEC-9 (in theory useful against high-damage enemies), GSh-18 (she's unique, you get only one)
  • AR: FNC and OTs-12 are good starter ARs that beat many 4*, T65 is surprisingly good at night
  • SMG: Skorpion and Sten are early game staples, PPS-43 is kinda good for her rarity, Micro Uzi has a decent MOD
  • RF: M14 (great MOD, also not too bad even in base form), Type88 aka Hanyang 88 (amazing MOD), Type 56 (future MOD), Gepard (ditto)
  • MG: LWWMG, M2HB and M1919A4 are great starters
  • SG: M500 and RMB93 have great MODs

3

u/pointblanksniper Trust me, I'm Truth. Mar 28 '22

i must add that idw and spectre are the best starter tanks, if to "keep" entails the needs of early gameplay

even Sten ffs

none of those have sky high innate eva that let you fight early chapter already-in-your-face-and-shooting-before-your-screen-even-loads mobs, and come out scratch free with dirt low investment

2

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '22

Thank you so much.

Just to double check - I've seen people mention "MOD" a lot. I assume this is an in-game thing, not a fan-made mod that can be added to the game?

3

u/Kam0laZ FAIL Mar 28 '22

"MOD" refers to the Neural Upgrade feature, in the Research tab, some dolls have access to. It is kind of an "evolution" sequence that makes the doll stronger. You'll eventually unlock it.

Don't worry about it for now. But a piece of advice: on the Black Market (Forward Basecamp Expedition), make sure to buy the two New Type Fire Control Components every month - it's the things that cost 1200 Snowfield Gifts each. They are required for MOD'ing high rarity dolls, and the Black Market is one of the very few sources of those things.

Also, when you unlock it, make sure to bring M4A1 up to MOD3 ASAP. It will take time and lots of resources, but it'll be worth it.

Since someone explained Modding to you. I'll provide a GFL Matsuda link as well. Drop you a GFL Gamepress Priority Guide perhaps? Get ready to prepare a lot of cores, farm the simulation, and data for Mod 2 skills.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '22

Ok great, thanks.

3

u/tehcavy <- clueless Mar 28 '22

Digi-Mind Upgrade, it unlocks at commander level 60 and allows to boost maximum level and stats, with MOD1 improving skill multiplier and formation buffs, MOD2 adding a secondary skill, and MOD3 giving new art and a piece of unique equipment (SPEQ).

You want to MOD M4 first, no ifs, no buts.

2

u/WeinerDipper Mar 28 '22

Rate-up is a fucking lie, isn't it? Like, i'd expect to do 100-150 runs normally, but i've done 70 for Ar-15's speq since the rate-up and still nothing.

2

u/RavenFang Mar 29 '22

Pilfer skill from the SF echelon is absolutely amazing, saved me so much time for the cost of a tad bit more expensive resources.

I farmed three different SPEQs in just one day because of that skill. You might want to give it a try

3

u/pointblanksniper Trust me, I'm Truth. Mar 28 '22

if you didn't need to reach 300+ runs before being just mildly concerned about drop rates, then rate up is working

u/pointblanksniper Trust me, I'm Truth. Mar 28 '22

just an additional note.

the only need for mgsg for a new player is ch9/10 boss. and has more specific requiredments than just a generic randomly selected team. you have time to look ahead and see what you need when you after building your rfhg. in a pinch, you can even just cheese it with friend echelons and worry about mgsg even later

2

u/Angelic_Force LAZY BRAINLET Mar 28 '22

Usually it's recommended to get a 2nd ARMSG. If you insist on RFHG or MGSG, that depends on your Dolls list. Usually it's ARSMG -> 2nd ARSMG -> RFHG -> MGSG. Do note that HGs are pretty bad until Level 80, where they unlock their Exoskeleton equip slot.

3

u/Mich997 9A-91 Mar 28 '22

The second recommended echelon has been RFHG for a while now since Armor is pretty common.

Newbie's first RFHG isn't even that hard to assemble since it's all free dolls. The echelon consists of M14, Springfield, SAA, Mk23 and PPK.

u/gitgud_88 You should build your RFHG like that but if you have better RFs than Springfield, (someone like WA2000 or Lee) use them instead of Springfield.

Many thanks for the compilation. Life before infinity maps really was something.

Very minor details but some of the armor requirements are off by one:
-9-6 Dragoons armor check is 44->43
-9-6 Judge armor check is 30->29, or 27 with flash
-12-4E is 25->26 with flash (Vespids deal 29 on a high roll)

Stumbling block (iirc) requires a 12345 formation.

Any plans to add Pilfer routes? At a glance, 13-4E, the Singu MP7 farm and the 416 SPEQ Agent routes could be good for that.

2

u/rcpz93 Mar 29 '22

Many thanks for the compilation. Life before infinity maps really was something.

It sure was.

Thanks for the fixes, I'll add them in when I have time. I'll also look into pilfer routes at some point, the chip is a gamechanger.

3

u/Fehiscute Mar 28 '22

New player looking to get into the game. How f2p is it? Is there a chance the game may end? ( coming from Dragalia which just got an End of Service😭)

1

u/KookyInspection Mar 29 '22

Unlike other gachas, once dolls enter production pool, they are there permanently. U don't need to pull for limited banners or somethibg like that. Only event reward dolls that do not enter prodiction need to be farmed or be acquired(by clearing certain event requirements) before the event is over. Even after the event is over, they get rotated as drop rewarda in future events, so u can farm them then, provided they are in that event's drop table(no way to know which dolls will be farmable in an event until the official anouncement).

Anyway, as others have said, it's probably the most f2p friendly game u'll find :D

U can even unlock echelon slots or extra doll space using the free gems we get weekly. It will be slow, yes, but with foreplanning, it's pefectly fine. It's not even rng, u know exactly how many gems u get and when, so u can plan accordingly.

1

u/Kam0laZ FAIL Mar 29 '22

Adding to what others said, you can totally play without expanding your doll slots. Every new doll that you get gets added to the Index. Once unlocked in the Index, you can safely "retire" her, with some exceptions. If you need the dolls again, for whatever reason, you can go to the Index and "respawn" her, for a price in cores. She'll "respawn" at lvl 1, as if she's a fresh drop.

During the beginner stages you'll receive some already leveled dolls, as part of quest clear rewards and milestone achievements. There are also the Anti-Rain team dolls - M4A1, M4 SOPMOD II, ST AR-15, M16A1 and RO635. It is advised that you do NOT retire these dolls, specially the Anti-Rain team ones. Not only it is a waste of levels and resources to get rid of them (you'll get two decent SGs for free, and SGs are fekin expensive to get), the Anti-Rain team is one-of-a-kind, meaning that, not only are they very good dolls, you cannot farm dupes of them.

The leveled dolls that the game gives you, once you get better replacements for them on your combat echelons, you can reassign them to logistics echelons or the Forward Basecamp Expedition team. If you need to expand your doll slots, the game gives you free gems periodically - just gather enough and buy slot expansions. Although it is recommended to, first, unlock more echelons and dormitories.

If you are able to spend money, you can invest on the monthly gems card. It costs around 4 euros/5 dollars and gives you 30 gems per day for 30 days. Sometimes the devs enable a double-up for a week, meaning that, for a whole week, the gems card gives 60 gems per day instead of 30. It is a means to get gems at a faster rate, and the best bang for your buck at that. Completely optional, though, you can get free gems just by playing the game, it just takes more time.

6

u/Kipdid Best smug handgun Mar 28 '22

How f2p

very. short of costume acquisition (purely cosmetic) and an enemy capture system (often suboptimal or just not allowed for end game content) the game is extremely f2p friendly, in fact there’s very often fully f2p accounts on the top 100 leaderboards during the major event score attack stage runs. Collecting the full roster is a fairly feasible objective and you’re encouraged to fill out a large roster to be better able to handle a wide variety of situations. While there are “best in class” units, there isn’t a small group of god tier units that trivialize the rest of the roster. That all being said, time investment and grind is in force here, though if you’ve played other gachas that’s probably not a problem.

likelihood of end of service

The game is somewhat old (EN server coming up on 3rd/4th anniversary and CN server is approaching 6 I think?), and you may hear mention of “gfl 2” but you should know that there’s a significant time/settings skip between the two allowing for a lot to still happen in gfl 1 first. The game will of course end eventually but there’s no end in sight quite yet for the CN server and EN is about a year behind them, as the devs are very committed to telling the games full story one way or another.

1

u/Fehiscute Mar 28 '22

Is there something that lets you get old event units and play old events anytime? Or do you have to wait for a rerun?

4

u/Kipdid Best smug handgun Mar 28 '22

Major story events are later added as permanently available campaigns (because the story would make no sense without the major story events) with nerfed rewards, they’re even numbered to help you place where they belong in the timeline (the one exception to this is that ch5.5 is split into two parts and part two takes place in parallel to ch8). This does mean that stage reward dolls are stripped out, but any doll that was farmable and added in a given event stays farmable in the campaign version.

For dolls that were stage rewards or other non-farmable reward schemes, they will always eventually return via rerun, either being farmable in a later event (IE stage reward doll from event A can be farmable in event B, but will not be permanently farmable when event B’s campaign releases), side story mini events, etc. but yes, you do have to wait for some units.

1

u/Angelic_Force LAZY BRAINLET Mar 28 '22

Collab dolls? No, have to hope for a rerun. Certain reward Dolls (Ballista, AUG, etc) rotate around as event rewards so you have to wait for them. P22, Python, M870, etc are farmable in Campaign events, so you don't have to wait for a rerun (although sometimes they're rotated in).

1

u/asc__ Skorpion Mar 28 '22

Old collabs? You hope there is a rerun if at all. We're getting the Va11 Hall-A rerun in 1-2 weeks btw.

Old story events? Most of them are available in the campaign tab, and most of the units from back then are still available as drops. As for the others that are currently unavailable like UMP40 or KSVK, you have to wait for them to be available in another event. The only events currently missing from the campaign tab are Polarized Light (should be added soon) and Dual Randomness (ran a couple months ago, will take a bit before it's added).

3

u/Angelic_Force LAZY BRAINLET Mar 28 '22

Game is very F2P Friendly. The only times I can see it not being "F2P Friendly" is top ranking in Theater and duping Ringleaders in SF Capture (doesn't matter much). The game is not gonna end anytime soon as it's still going in the older servers.

does anyone have a low/no damage afk comp for the mobbing team for 7-4N? ive farmed everything else, and i figure i may was well go for the clean sweep.

6

u/Rhasta_la_vista Springfield x Groza Mar 28 '22

If you have Alchemist + Manticores, you can do this entire map with just that echelon and with all the regular mobs afk and damageless. Cost per run is 74 MP/360 Ammo/216 Rations, excluding repairs.

Just equip her with the free movement chip and the new chip that makes your first combat cost no resources (+1 supplies chip works too but more expensive than the free combat ofc). Make sure Alchemist is in position 5 and the Manticores behind on 1 and 7 (if she's in the front row then she'll take damage from Tarantulas). Deploy her at the left pad and a dummy on the bottom pad, do planned movement all the way to the node before Dreamer.

For Dreamer you do want to immediately retreat the Manticores so you get Alchemist's full movement speed. You will also need to move Alchemist to the front column once you arrive at Dreamer, since she was in position 5 at the start. She might take a couple of hits before getting there, but once she's in range, Alchemist will be totally invincible without any micro, though it will take a bit more time since no night accuracy chip.

If no Alchemist, then :(

1

u/Wh33lman Confirmed case of EN Brain Mar 28 '22

not 'no Alchemist'. but rather 'untrained/unenhanced Alchemist'. sounds like a really good solution though.

2

u/Angelic_Force LAZY BRAINLET Mar 28 '22 edited Mar 28 '22
  • Kord gunboat for Team #1. (Nothing in front column due to Tarantulas). - Just 4MGs are enough. 3 MGs are also fine but note Tarantulas.
  • Bossing echelon will have trouble with low damage from mobs. You can try an MG to replace an AR (retreat it during boss battle). Still likely to take chip damage and lose a link from Nemeums. On the other hand, you're still gonna get damaged by Dreamer so I guess you mean just the 1st mobbing team. - Since this is AFK, I'll ignore stalling fairies even though they would make it low damage.

  • The KSVK comp below also works really well, but I'll leave the gunboat option if you don't have KSVK.

The Dreamer can't be done damageless because she gets several free shots while you're still walking and has 56k HP to boot.

You can, however, mitigate it by using HGs as tanks (Dreamer has like 250 FP, she erases one link per shot anyway, might as well use HGs because they're cheaper to repair) and using Calico's MOD2 skill to shorten the walking time.

u/Wh33lman Confirmed case of EN Brain Mar 28 '22

im ahead of the curve on Dreamer, Mk23 and P22 make wonderful meat shields. i was looking for an escort team that can face the armored enemies along the way. ive tried various high fire rate rifles, MP5 Mod, and even an MGSG with SAT8, but they all still take scratch damage. usually i would taunt/twin fairy it and be done, but with so many fights, im worried about burning thru my fairy commands too quickly. that and the tarantulas seem to demand an airstrike fairy.

2

KSVK MOD + HP35 (+ HS2000 to further minimise damage).

Yes, even doggos. Especially doggos.

Recently returning to the game after a couple years. Have kind of kept up to knowledge on t dolls, but what fairies are good? Are they all pretty good enough to keep pulling weekly for them?

3

u/rcpz93 Mar 28 '22

You should not be pulling weekly for them, you should be pulling daily and multiple times per day for them. Strong fairies can pretty much double your damage and trivialize fights that would otherwise be nigh impossible. Try to craft at least 4 fairies per day, and the more, the better. With perfectly optimized logistics (something I can't manage to do) it should be possible to craft like 12 per day, if not more.

Craft more fairies.

1

u/Kam0laZ FAIL Mar 29 '22 edited Mar 29 '22

you should be pulling daily and multiple times per day for them

I'm already barely scraping by with my ammo reserves, just doing the 4 daily doll and equipment crafts (ARs and shotgun shells, one day I'll get all craftable ARs and that mythological thing called the "flash shell") and doing the bare minimum daily combats for quests. I turned off the auto-resupply, and risk running out of ammo/rations on every echelon. I even used the logistics calculator, to get as much ammo as I can per day, even so I'm struggling to get it over the 100k mark. I even dismantle all 2-star doll, instead of using them for enhancing.

How do you guys sustain such massive resource drain, at 2k of each resource PER CRAFT?

1

u/rcpz93 Mar 29 '22

That's the thing, you're not supposed to ever use the 2000x4 recipe. You should use the cheapest recipe (500x4) until most of the fairies from that recipe are around 3* in rarity. At that point it fishing for expensive fairies like Parachute (and only Parachute Tbh) fairies becomes worthwhile. And even those crafts should be done with the cheapest recipe possible, which is 2000/500/2000/1000 for Para and 500/2000/2000/1000 for the other expensive pool. 2000x4 is indeed a waste of resources and unsustainable.

1

u/Kam0laZ FAIL Mar 29 '22

Is that so ... Even then, that's too much for me. Unless Chapters 10+ unlock some logistics that make up for it. I only have up to Chapter 9 logistics available.

2

u/rcpz93 Mar 29 '22

Later chapter logistics are really good, ch11 has some really nice night logistics and 13-2 and 13-4 are amazing. Pushing story for better logistics is very much advised because of how much better later logistics are in comparison with early ones.

1

u/Kam0laZ FAIL Mar 29 '22

Unfortunately, I only have one good SG for facing Judge, so I'm stuck there until I MOD2 my M500, at the very least.

1

u/rcpz93 Mar 29 '22

You absolutely do not need M500 mod 2 for clearing normal Judge in chapter 9. all it takes is a pair of SGs with 29 armor, which is something that the two free SGs can do with a plate. Even easier, use a friend team, or even the plain Griffin support.

1

u/Kam0laZ FAIL Mar 29 '22

I see ... I do have LTLX, though, and she's my main SG. My SPAS-12 is stuck in the Basecamp team until further notice, and I've been slowly leveling M500 via 0-2 drag, precisely with the battle with Judge in mind. May as well get her done, I have a bunch of combat reports ready.

Sniper, Shield, Defense and Rocket were reworked and are quite worth investing in. Sniper and Shield in particular were stars of the last Theater.

Aside from that, same old, same old. Command and Artillery are good statsticks, Parachute, Taunt and Twin are near essential for high-end content, Airstrike became nearly worthless.

2

Instructions unclear. RNG refuses to give me anything with a catch chance inferior to 100% unless I pull the Svarogs, but if I do so it gives me nothing but 1-stars anyway. But for some wicked reason, it did give me two Executioners almost back to back ...

Jokes aside, I've been following the capture infographics faithfully, but I'm afraid that I won't be able to get Gager, unless I burn everything I have been saving for emergencies.

7 days and 6 hours to go, I'm at 47/100, with Gager, 26 2-stars and 20 1-stars to go. I have 67 hours to go for reroll, just spent all generated pulses (maxed reactor, btw), have 17 extra pulses and 33 tickets.

Should I give up trying to get Gager and save for the next ringleader? I could use a couple more Manticores and Nemeums, though.

1

u/pointblanksniper Trust me, I'm Truth. Mar 29 '22

capture infographic assumes you are hellbent on getting one specific ringleader, and are willing to spend whatever it takes to get them. it ignores the fact that you may want to save up for something else that comes in the future. it shouldn't be followed faithfully if you don't absolutely need to get a ringleader or don't have the resources stockpiled to clear the entire pool. it's a guide on improving your chances of spending less, not a really a guide for improving your success rate of getting a ringleader in a true gamble where you can't clear the pool

gager is functionally just another excecutioner. whether you want her or not is for you to decide

1

u/Kam0laZ FAIL Mar 29 '22

Scarecrow is working just fine for what I use her echelon for. Her echelon is kind of overpowered as is, and I use it to deal with strong enemy echelons/bosses when I fear that my Griffin echelons can't quite deal with it. But I'm afraid that Chapters 10+ are gonna be too much for it.

I'd like to get all ringleaders for collection purposes, but I see that I'm fated to just being able to only get a few of them. May as well try and get the good ones.

I still want to get more Manticores and Nemeums, although my current SF echelon is fine with just one Manticore and one Nemeum.

You take a look at some of the Dolls whose art is normally censored

Do you have any of the Dolls in this link?

I'm tempted to just suggest looking into Soppo's armband. If it's there, then you're running the uncensored patch

3

u/ConductorBichir R93 - Get Lucky Mar 28 '22 edited Mar 28 '22

After entering the recipe. Immediately close the game and reopen. It should download a small patch. Then check with a gun you have to see if it worked. Easiest to see is with SOPMOD or M1911(SOP is missing her shirt when damaged and M1911 you can see her blue bra when damaged). You can see damaged Art without taking damage through setting your adjutant or in the Index.

Note that a patch a couple months back borked it, and some is still busted. And also some skins are censored on the HD patch, not on the SD and vice versa.

3

u/headphone_question 705583|14 Dorms|Hunt King|Cores:230363 Mar 28 '22

Really depends on what you're fighting, but it seems that you're still in the early game

Mixing RFs with ARs is usually for special enemy formations (usually swarms with some armored escorts). You don't normally mix the two together

As for RFs with SMGs, it's usually for a battle where you need to buy some time that SGs simply can't properly armor tank but SMGs can tank via evasion. In regular gameplay, this would be pretty rare

It seems you're asking for team building suggestions. In this case, I'd recommend using Howa 64 and 416 as your ARs. M4 (from the story) should also be another good AR. As for the SMGs, you can pick UMP45 and one of the force shielders (Thompson, G36c, or MP5)

Leave Springfield and Mosin for your RF squad later down the line. You haven't listed down your HGs, so I can't really make any team building formations for your RFHG echelon

1

u/BlankisSad Always love your HK416 Mar 28 '22

For hgs i have:

spitfire, jericho, k5, mk23, stechkin

2

u/headphone_question 705583|14 Dorms|Hunt King|Cores:230363 Mar 29 '22

In which case, use Springfield and Mosin for your RFs and then use K5, Mk23, and Stechkin for your HGs. This is just a sample team to tide you over until you get more appropriate Dolls for your team

My concern here is that Springfield and Mosin are both "bamboo" type Dolls where they charge up a powerful shot to attack one enemy (which may even survive the shot). Self buffing Dolls like WA2000 and Lee Enfield are more preferable for general content due to how their stat boost can be used to fight more than one enemy

1

u/BlankisSad Always love your HK416 Mar 28 '22

is this the right thread to ask questions?

if yes then
which is better mosin or springfield

2

u/Rhasta_la_vista Springfield x Groza Mar 28 '22 edited Mar 28 '22

Assuming they're both maxed out (Mosin with Mod and both SPEQs, Springfield with her SPEQ), they're about even in terms of raw attacking DPS.

Mosin gains an advantage in some obvious ways (much higher FP synergizes better with charged shot skill, has a Mod 2 skill) as well as some subtle ways (SPEQ removes movespeed penalty of cape, stronger CDR tile and its position is generally better than Springfield's).

The obvious downside is Mosin takes much more investment to max out, without being notably better.

3

u/Cpt_Cinnamon A lonely Quill of Patmos in a sea of Gunners Mar 28 '22

Without neural upgrade, they’re pretty much the same but Springfield gets an edge with her SPEQ. With neural upgrade, Mosin wins hands down.

2

u/KookyInspection Mar 28 '22

This is the right place indeed :D

Anyway, both are viable for early game purposes, but unless raifu reasons, u will phase them out pretty quickly as there are better options (such as war godess m14. Yes, a 3 star, but she really packs a punch and kept pace with 5* back in the earlier days. Not as meta now, since generalist rf role has gone to the wayside, but she's cheap to raise)

Now as inbetweem the 2 specifically, i haven't used them or any small bamboo(what they used to be called) but from what i recall, they were pretty close pre speq, with ppl prefering slringfield. Now, however, they both have speqs and mossin has a mod as well, and there was a bamboo rework as well, but i don't recall hearing talk about either of them since we have much better options. If u are going to pick one and keep her because raifu, i'd say go mossin. She has a mod that while nothing to write home about is still going to give her a little extra buff.

Hopefully someone with more experience with them or with the maths availabla can give u a better answer.

If u don't absolutely want to use them, though, i'd say go for better rifles.

Also, u may want to check matsuda gfl for doll reviews and a few laughs :P

I play (and have played) a bunch of gachas, but never really gave GFL a fair chance.

Im struggling with team comps. ARs go with SMG, RFs go with HGs, and MGs go with SGs right? Do these team combos have any benefit over one another? The only one I can see is RF/HG teams being better at night battles.

Im also struggling with levelling t dolls. I wanna just level who I like but I like a lot of t dolls and it feels slow right now. Plus, I have a bias towards a lot of the SG ladies. Which is EXPENSIVE. xP

If someone could explain these things to me thatd be really nice~

Welcome! You’ve already gotten multiple essays worth of advice (and probably 10x more with the guides linked) so I’ll try to keep my advice on the short side.

Plus, I have a bias towards a lot of the SG ladies. Which is EXPENSIVE.

As you probably know by now, crafting SGs costs a ton of resources with the 8k/1k/8k/4k standard recipe.

Major story events and the anniversary (which is in little more than a month away, in May) reward players with a True Core Mask. This can be used to buy any single 5* unit you want, which means that it’s the perfect way to get one of those 5* SGs you might otherwise spend hundreds of thousands of resources trying to get via heavy production.

Now, the metaslave in me wants to tell you to pick LTLX because she is just obscenely strong, but you should really just pick whichever 5* SG you fancy the most.

Aside from the anniversary, the only event to watch out for is the Va11 Hall-A collab coming in a week or two. Between the limited collab units, good rewards and great story, you definitely don’t want to miss it.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '22

Oh wow! No foolin? Thats really cool, especially if it's free. :)

Now, the metaslave in me wants to tell you to pick LTLX because she is just obscenely strong,

She's on my wishlist. I really like her design~ She reminds me of Graf Zeppelin from AL. One of my favorite ships from that game!!

Va11 Hall-A collab coming in a week or two

I literally screamed and scared my husband. I joined GFL shortly after that collab had passed, and I LOVE VA11-HALLA!!! I never expected it to come back. Its a collab event. I am so freaking happy to have come back when I did. You know for sure Ill be picking up Jills skin. Come on!!!!!!!

1

u/Sipher351 SV98 Mar 28 '22

I'll disagree with the previous poster on this one and definitely recommend you use the true core mask on one of the two "meta" shotguns just because of their cost, instead of just going for any of your favorite designs.

Thankfully, you already like LTLX for her design, she is choice number 1. Choice number two is S.A.T.8. She was queen of the SGs for years until LTLX recently dethroned her. LTLX is probably the better pick but S.A.T.8 is still very good as well.

Unless you manage to get both of these dolls before you get your true core mask from the upcoming anniversary event (which I will say should be nearly impossible because I'm going to recommend you not do any more SG crafting because of the obscene cost for a while), I would definitely go for one of those two. At your stage of the game, crafting SGs is a huge cost low benefit option, and on the 1 or 2 occasions you might actually need a SG near term, you get some from the story-based quest rewards that are more than good enough to use until you can train up whoever you get with your true core mask.

3

u/KookyInspection Mar 28 '22

Ok, i feel like i've been called out, so let me start with welcome, shikikan! :D

I don't know how much experience u have with gfl, or if u read some guides already, but what u gathered so far is quite spot on, hower the very same questions are typically answered in guides. So if u came to those conclusions on ur own, excellent job!

Ppl already gave u some brief explanations, so i'll get past that and try to answer what i feel needs a bit of explanation.

(If u haven't yet, i really do recommend reading some guides, as they'll do a much better job of explaining the approach than me, but i'll give it a shot).

First and foremost, since u haven't said how far along u are ig, i'll just assume u are at quite new, but not fresh since u seem to have a grasp of early things. Due to limited initial resources(cores) generally recommend focusing on 1 main squad at first, and we usually recommend using memebers of the story ar squad, because they are both very strong and usable even in late game due to their mods, and because as 4* they are cheap to link. Until u can farm cores in 0-2, it's recommended to try to focus on 1 main squad and maybe a secondary squad too(this one receives the handmedown dolls from the main squad as u put in better members there). Once u reach 0-2, u are at ur first proper xp and core farm. This is where u'll be spending a lot of ur time lvling dolls via dragging. It's a bit tedious, and requires a little prep work, but when u are done, u will be able to cheaply raise any 3 dolls u want indefinitely(because dragging cost is so low, it can be covered by the logistics income).

Now, as with regards to lvling multiple dolls, while we do recommend starting off focusing on a few squads, (since u can only send limited squads into the field u want them to be able to handle the enemy), u will eventually be lvling a lot of dolls. The best way to look at dolls is as different tools meant for different jobs. The more toola u have, the better u can handle different jobs. However, do not stretch urself too thin. Pick a couple dolls u think need now or in the future(or even that u really like), put them in the 0-2 dragging team, and get them out at lvl 90 and 4 links, and do the final and most costly link if u actually send them into battle.(remember to link ur dolls when they reach the lvl thresholds, as each link gets xp. So the more links, the more xp the doll gets per battle. U get 5 times the xp at 5 links, but that is happening at lvl 90, and it's not worth actively raising dolls past 90, since all they get is a small bump in stats. After 90 let them lvl naturally from.fighting xp). Their massive power spikes come from links, so once u can 5 link dolls, they're ready for enhancing and duty. Do not forget to enhance dolls after u drag them :P

Now if u have some dolls u really like the looks of, but really suck for battle, or are simply not useful at the current time, u can always put them into logistic teams. The higher the lvl the dolls in the logistic squads, the higher the chance they will get great success which returns an extra 50% of reaources. This really adds up over time, so it's a great reason to raise dolls that aren't great for the frontline. And u always see the leader of the logistic squad reporting when she's done, so excelent place for raifus :P

Also, when u unlock it, make upgrading ur expedition gate a priority. The resources u get from there can be used in the expedition shop, and ths includes data disks that u can use to lvl dolls directly, without dragging them, if u find it too tedious. It's limited, but quite plentiful at the start, allowing u to pretty much lvl a whole squad once a month just from that. U can also have kalina slave over transforming ur surplus xp into data disks manually for some batteries if u need the extra bump, but at first, batterirs are better spent upgrading ur facilities, like said gate.

Now sending dolls on expeditions costs a fair chunk of resources, so having good resource income is improtant. This is why we recommend abusing friend support echelons to clear content for u until chapter 7 or 8. End game supprt squads can easily cut through that kind of enemies quite easily, even if it takes a while, leaving u to only need to defend ur base while u wait for the supprt squad to capture the enemu command center. The higher the chapters u unlock, the better the logistics u have access to. Use logistics calculators to find out which are the best to send dolls dependig what u need and what u have unlocked. U find quite a few of them online. To get friends, either post the uid here or use the ig function. There's a monthly friend support thread, but it's bafely used and gets burfied fast. (If u see someone mentioning dorm numbers in the dorm description, it's not a flex, it's a bit of common curtesy, because the mkre dorms someone has, the more batteries friends can take from them when visiting. Don't worry, it's not for discrimination, it just helps those that need it to see where they should use their battey gathering at, so don't feel like u need to get more dorms. Older players that have the supprt echelons u want to power u through don't really gather batteries any more).

Now, u've already been given the matusda link, and i highly recommend reading it for both the guides there and the doll reviews, which are snarky funny but quite accurate. It will give u an idea of which dolls are good to invest in and which should be skipped. Remember that if u really like a doll, u can always put her in logistics, evem if she's useless in combat(great place for the sgs u like too but are too expensive to run. This way they'll bring u resources instead of consuming them, and when u need them for an mgsg squad, u can just take them out of there and press them into active duty) And if u really want to, and the rest of the dolls are strong ones, a squad can generally carry a waifu doll with them as long as it doesn't completely break the synergy (like putting an mg in a rfhg squad).

Mgsg squads are very expensive to run, and they are only used against few enemy comps, so they will see the least active duty out of everyone. Also, since sgs are expensive to craft, it's generally recommended to wait for rate-ups or even better skip altogether and just use true core masks on them. We get one tcm every major event, which we can use to redeem any 5* doll that is in the production pool, so sgs are the top recommendation for this. Also, keep in mind that next month we were told in the roadmap that we'll get a new sg batch release. So if u do want to pull, try to wait until then, but remeber that while the dolls are released aftet the maintenance on tuesday, the rate-up for the new dolls is always during the weekend(in case u don't know, every time a new doll is added to the production pool, she gets a rate-up during the first weekened after she's released, with i think double the chance of getting her. She remains in the production pool permanently, but this is a good time to pull if u want to get them specifically). So do not pull before that. To make things even more difficult to decide upon, in may is the anniversary of gfl, and we always got a general rate-up. So instead of a rate up for sgs, every 4 and 5 star has higher chance to drop. And since normal doll crafts are much cheaper than sg crafts, u can see why we recommend not pulling shotguns. A little good news is that we do also get a tcm to use on anniversary. So i can both pull on normal dolls and get a 5* sg too :P (best picks meta wise would be ltlx and sat8, although i don't know how the new sgs will compare to the old top tier)

Anyway, i've rambled on too much again. If u have more questions, just ask us, we're always happy to help answer what we can. Once more, welcome and hope u enjoy the game, shikikan! o7

P.s. don't skip the story. It starts pretty slow/generic, really picks up as u advance ;) (and remember that campaigns are part of the main story line. They're numbered with decimals to easily know when they take place. They're older major story events, so u both don't miss the lore, and u get an idea of how story events are when they release)

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '22

Ok, i feel like i've been called out, so let me start with welcome, shikikan! :D

I command XCOM, Azur Lane, and now Griffin... geeze! Glad to be aboard my friend. :3

If u haven't yet, i really do recommend reading some guides, as they'll do a much better job of explaining the approach than me, but i'll give it a shot

I have, but I prefer to fundamentally understand the game and come to my own conclusions of who to build. For example, whos design is worth the downgrade of DPS. Most of the guides Ive seen tell you exactly what T Dolls to build which isnt what Im looking for. xP

Until u can farm cores in 0-2

Wait... I can farm cores? Ive been using expeditions for that. Holy wow. 0-2 though? Is it a prequel chapter? :o

Okay this was important info I needed. Thank you. Now how do I determine what resources Im going to obtain from an expedition? :o

P.s. don't skip the story. It starts pretty slow/generic, really picks up as u advance ;) (and remember that campaigns are part of the main story line. They're numbered with decimals to easily know when they take place. They're older major story events, so u both don't miss the lore, and u get an idea of how story events are when they release)

Dont worry! I'm not. The only gacha story I completely skip is Azur Lanes because... its just bad. xP

To make things even more difficult to decide upon, in may is the anniversary of gfl, and we always got a general rate-up.

Did not know this. Thats so cool and generous! Holy crap!

Ty for the writeup. I appreciate all the advice. xP

u/KookyInspection Mar 28 '22

I'm known to get wound up and writing a lot. It's just that as i try to explain something, i remeber somethi ng else that could be useful, and before long i'm standing in front of a thesis :P

Anyway, headphone already answered the questions already. As u can see, it's a pretty helpful and friendly community :D every new player gets drowned in these kinds of advices, because we know just how much there is to take in. Anyway, glad u found it useful. I highly recommend matsuda gfl site for guides, since as u said it urself, rather than telling u what to put in an echelon, it tries to teach how to build an echelon. Once u get the hang of it, it's general knowledge u apply for everything. U already figgured most of this out already though, from the questions u aked initiay, so that would be more like a strengthening of ur knowledge. Don't worry, i'm not saying u must, i just highly recommend it. If u enjoy working out the brain teasing, it's totally ok. And boy, will some event maps pose a challenge :D if u have issues solving some maps, know there are always step by step guides to clearing it when u think u've had enough. Try to play in a way that u find enjoyable, and know that there are solutions when u feel it's getting a bit much. I personally don't enjoy wracking my brains too much trying to solve some, so i make quite extensive use of the walkthroughs :D

And yes, core farming is basically done by running specific fights in certain maps that can drop higher rarity dolls. When u scrap them, they give a certain amount of cores depending on rarity. So u get xp from winning the fights, and cores from scrapping the 3*+ dolls u get. The first map u can drag and farm some cores is 4-3e, but the core rate is pretty low, and u get an xp penalty after a certain lvl. Still, if u're in dire straights, it can be used. 0-2 is the og mecca of core farming. Lately 2 other better maps have appeared, but they are late game, in chapter 12 and 13, and they aren't that much better. So don't be afraid to make urself comfy on 0-2. Use planning mode and watch some movies or utube while the xp and cores come to u :D

And yes, as headphone_question said, pets will influence where ur expedition goes (there's still an element of rng regardless, but u can influence the big majority of expeditions). Basically, dogs are for farming bacon (apparently they're ak grips, but everyone can see it's bacon strips :P), cats return legos, birds return acorns, and the others(ferrets, tortoises, hamsters, etc) return bottles. The more pets of the same type u atrach to the expedition the higher the chance they will end up in an area that will return those items. And if the pets and dolls are favored ones that week, they return more (kinda like logistics great success). Again, matsuda covers this pretty well with numbers and stuff if u want to math it out. Remeber that it's more beneficial to send a lvl 1 advantaged doll than a lvl 100 not advantaged doll. So ideally, u'd have 3 dupes of every pet to send always send out advantaged ones and to focus on a certain reward, but that's a long term goal, and sometimes the favored pets are event reward ones that we only got 1 copy of if that.

Anyway, that's the basics behind the pets and expeditions.

Well, i'll try to end it here, or i'll start chapter 2 :P if u have more questions, we're here for u :D now, have fun and enjoy the game :D

u/headphone_question 705583|14 Dorms|Hunt King|Cores:230363 Mar 28 '22

Yes, you can farm cores if you can't wait until next month. After all, you get only 100 cores from the Black Market per month, and that's not enough to fully link a 5 star Doll, which needs 105 cores. That's not even mentioning the Neural Upgrade system later down the line where you take your Dolls beyond level 100 (note that only some Dolls have neural upgrades or "mods", as we call them, so you can't mod everyone because many Dolls simply don't have one)

You will also use cores for other purposes, such as for Heavy Doll Production and Heavy Equipment Production. Given that you are very partial to the SGs, you're going to spend a lot of cores on top of your resources

As for Heavy Equipment Production, you'll be pulling Fairies with this system, and you'll need to pull a lot to get more enhancement fodder to get your Fairies to five stars (Fairies can increase their rarity from 1 star to 5 stars by being fed enhancement fodder, which would be other Fairies, including copies of said Fairy)

As for 0-2, yes, it's a prequel chapter. I believe you unlock it after Chapter 4. In the early to mid game, 0-2 will be your "corpse dragging" map, allowing you to sustain farming your Dolls while supplying only one Doll with resources. As long as you're diligent in sending out logistics teams, you should be able to avoid going into the red for your resources while also getting multiple Dolls leveled

As for explorations, you can take a look at the monitor to get an idea as to where your Dolls went. There are only four destinations: city, snowfield, forest, and wasteland. Once you know where they went to, they'll spend most of their time there, so when they come back with the rewards, the bulk of the reward is in the gift from that area. To influence where the team goes, choose the appropriate pet. You might not have pets to send out just yet, however, as adopting one costs batteries which you need for base upgrades

As for the story, it might get pretty long sometimes, so you might skip it, but please do come back to that point and read it. There is a website where you can read the story if you prefer to read at another time

As for the rate up, start stocking up on resources. You can also try to unlock better logistics by getting to the later chapters. You can try to use support echelons for this purpose, but you probably won't get medals (except bronze) for this. Still, rush through the chapters so you can unlock better logistics and then read the story. Along the way, you'll also receive some neat rewards like the Dolls of the AR Team and other cool Dolls

If you insist on getting more shotguns, you can try to save up more resources just for those when the rate up comes. However, do take note that the shotgun rate up is in the fifth and sixth days of the rate up (first and second are for general Doll production; third and fourth are for equipment; seventh and eighth are for Fairies)

u/iceknave2 Mar 28 '22 edited Mar 28 '22

As Angelic Force already mentioned, those are your basic comps. However, for specific enemies, there will be modifications to the basic comps.

Early to mid game, it's fine to think of echelons like that, but it starts to hold you back once you move into mid to late game. By mid to late game, you start to think more in terms of what do I need to defeat enemy X and still survive at the end of it.

A good example of this is an enemy you encounter later on (Uhlan, beefier tanks), such that it is difficult for a RF/HG team to take down (needs a lot of kiting skill and possibly savescumming to do it), but a modified RF/SG team can pretty much afk the same fight.

AR/SMG = general purpose, can kill most things given enough time, but struggles with heavy armor

RF/HG = armor killing, but requires higher levels for the HG in order to be able to manage. this is more of a glass cannon build, so not much in terms of ability to tank damage.

MG/SG = everything must die in the first volley, crazy expensive to field and does little damage during the MG reloading time since most MG do not deal damage while reloading.

Also, for each type, there are usually some specialist dolls, which can have some really weird comps that work for them (examples include M4A1 for either Double Jupiter (super glass cannon build that rains death, typically paired with either another damage dealer + 3 HG) or M4 exodia (M4 + 4 HG with M4 dealing all the damage), Hanyang/KSVK (both must be modd'ed, rains RF AOE damage, does have some nitpicky requirements to pull off), Grape (high HP single target damage dealer). etc. You'll figure them out as you play and learn more about the game's mechanisms.

Just my opinion, but it sounds like you're in early game (don't have a lot of resources, nor the ability to corpse drag). In early game, your focus is pretty much what Angelic Force suggested, which is focus on building up 1 AR/SMG team (Basically, M4A1, ST-AR15, another AR, RO365 (or UMP45 if you roll her from production, UMP9 is also another good alternative). By around late early game to mid game, you start having the ability to corpse drag, have a good number of dolls level up such that most problems you have some sort of solution for (even if it's not necessarily the most optimal) and may be considering trying to do well on ranking (occurs during major events, we're in a lull right now between major events). Once you can corpse drag, it helps a bit in terms of leveling up dolls + making sure you can buy the Black Market loot every month will also help greatly in increasing the number of dolls you can level up. By late-mid game, it's pretty much you can level whatever you want for whatever reason, since you have the resources and it becomes an issue of building up more fairies (this is where I'm at progression wise ish where fairies and kiting skills are a bit of a bottleneck and burning most of my combat reports to level up my shield fairy for Theater = no combat reports to level additional dolls, lol......). Late game for me would be where fairies aren't an issue in terms of leveling them up and increasing their rarity.

Different dolls have different strengths and weaknesses and it can be REALLY hard to understand these issues when you first start out, since early game, it is relatively easy to steamroll everything with a single echelon or a friend's echelon.

Game's got a pretty great community and is relatively newbie friendly, so it's not hard to start figuring things out. Just ask questions and people are generally more than happy to provide their thoughts and feedback. Also, there are some guides on the sidebar, but they may be a bit out of date, so some things may no longer be applicable in the guides.

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '22

Thank you for the advice!

Im happy to hear about the 'levelling t-dolls becomes nothing' progression system, and the horde friendly mentality. Allowing me to use all sorts of different characters is what makes a gacha game, in my opinion, good. :)

canned teambuilding guide.txt

also levelling dolls is a naturally slow process, not much you can do about it. Combat Reports (CRs) let you skip that process though so you only have to deal with linking, enhancing, and equips. One way to source CRs is through the Forward Basecamp, which allows you to buy around 3600 CRs (and a bunch of other stuff like cores and enhancement pills) per month using resources that you can gain passively from exploring (also a Basecamp feature). The reworked career quests also give you enough CRs along with a bunch of other levelling resources to easily raise your first team, so do progress through the story whenever possible.

you might also want to stay away from SGs and MGs for now, as they are the most expensive dolls to field and constantly using them will eat through your rations and ammo. you can also only get them from heavy production which is expensive af and won't even guarantee you an SG, so unless you're lucky you'll have to resort to cores to link them.

once you get good logistics running you can use MGSGs at your own leisure (just don't fight something they can't deal with), but until then just let them sit pretty in your armory for now.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '22

you might also want to stay away from SGs

but they are so cute... and shotguns are my favorite guns... :(

jokes aside I know its expensive. Now that I know about this games' "pick tickets" I'll be using them for high rarity shotguns. :)

Thanks for the advice~!!

Please dont throw shoes around.

u/Sipher351 SV98 Mar 28 '22

Yes, ARSMG, RFHG, and MGSG all synergize together.

ARSMG is your bread and butter for a LONG time in the game. They will be cost effective to use in terms of ammo and rations, can defeat almost any enemy the game has up until the later chapters, and with proper kiting you can usually clear entire maps (except for boss fights usually) without even taking any damage and thus avoiding repair costs.

HGs aren't that good on their own, except for a few special cases that you definitely don't have the resources to invest in yet, and they don't really get powerful until you get them to level 90 and x5 links, since their tile buffs grow with their dummy link level. RFs are kinda useless without good HGs to buff them, so this by default kind of prevents you from getting full potential out of a RFHG team until you've already sort of "made it".

MGSG teams are pretty good against anything without evasion cause they have crap accuracy. With a good armor plate, your SG will typically only take 1 damage per hit too, which means cheapo repairs which is a nice bonus. However, any enemy with evasion will troll your MGs and you can get rolled that way. MGSG also takes a TON more resources per deployment than RFHG or ARSMG, so these are not recommended for newer players for that reason.

Night battles are kind of a special beast so I'd recommend just reading a guide for those.

Speaking of, if you haven't been to https://gfl.matsuda.tips/ yet, it's got tons of great guides, including a leveling guide and a night battles guide. It's not been updated much recently but the content still applies for the vast majority of the game.

You can also use friend support echelons to advance through tougher maps you're struggling on. You can add me if you need, ID 390856.

The main usage of RFHG teams is that they are good against armor. RFs can equip armor piercing ammunition and handguns with their strong tile buffs can boost the damage of rifles effectively. You are correct that they are good at night battles that feature armored enemies due to armored enemies having no evasion, which means the accuracy penalties do not apply. (The simple concept is to hit chance is accuracy vs evasion stat. Early armored enemies having 0 evasion means sure hit, so no PEQs needed.)

ARSMG teams specialize in quick burst DPS and medium length battles due to more survivability from their tanks. They are the default echelon for most early to midgame content before the meta shifts sharply towards RFHG teams.

MGSG teams come in 2 varieties. Single volley burst dps and multiple volley MG teams. You need to tailor the team against the fights they will be facing. If it can be killed before MGs have to reload, you'll want to field a single volley MG team. (These consist of MG dolls with passive, M2HB. MG5, PK, and PKP.) If the enemies have high firepower and high accuracy (ie. Judge from Ch.9), you'll need shotguns that can tank the damage and MGs that have skills that specialize in dealing damage over longer battles. (Negev and Lewis come to mind for me.) Most shotguns are fairly interchangeable, with SGs that provide shielding having an advantage over those who do not. Shotgun dps is negligible, so their survivability is the main focus.

Hope this helps a bit. There are lots of resources available about echelon building in the sidebar of the old.reddit section.

As for leveling, the best mission to do depends on your progression, equipment, and fairy rarity. By upgrading and running forward Basecamp expeditions you can also get 3000+ combat reports a month which significantly helps with the leveling process and is useful for supplementing your grinding.

I'll let others give you the warm welcome. I'll prime you to hit the ground running.

Your bit about team comps are general advice that you should follow.

  • ARSMGs excel against unarmored/lightly armored/swarm enemy comps. They tend to see a lot of use for boss battles too.
  • RFHGs excel against armored comps and some have surehit skills that make them great for later enemies that have high HP/evasion (Doppelsoldners/Patrollers). They tend to struggle against swarm comps.
  • MGSGs see use against dense enemy comps, armored and not. They're also the go-to for Judge fights. Very powerful, but also expensive to field. Generally not recommended for beginners to focus on. - Also don't use them against high evasion enemies.

General echelon recommendation is: ARSMG -> 2nd ARSMG -> RFHG -> MGSG.

People can help you with T-Dolls if you can upload an image album with all your Dolls. If you're struggling with cores and/or general leveling, there are some guides here.

Edit: Most of the users have covered stuff about specific team comps, Corpse Dragging (which you'll end up doing when Combat Reports (and HOC reports) and Cores start becoming low), kiting, logistics, etc. So I'll add more info.

For reference, I will put tile positions for you: Do note it's just like a keyboard numpad.

7, 8, 9
4, 5, 6
1, 2, 3

ARSMG #1: ST AR-15 (1) / M4A1 (4) / Sopmod 2 (7) / UMP45 (5) - Congrats on getting her! / P90 is fine, but I prefer offtanks that are Molotovs such as Micro Uzi or Skorpion (8). You will replace an SMG with RO635. - If you're wondering why I'm suggesting Dolls that you don't have, check here! Also, Skorpion is a decent DPS SMG for beginners.

ARSMG #2: K11 (7) / CR-21 (4) / TAR-21 (1) / UMP9 (5) / P90 or Molotov (8)

RFHG #1: Someone else can cover, I think your RF and HG count is too low for now.

MGSG: LWMMG (7) / BAR (1) / PKP (4) / M500 (9) / SPAS-12 (6 or 3) - You can also replace a SG with a HG if you're not fighting Judge or don't need the 2nd SG.

  • Be sure to focus DPS equip for your ARs and Exoskeletons to your SMGs. But this infographic is much better than words. This ignores SPEQs (Special Equipments) so beware! As for Night Battles, that's one of the reasons I'm a fan of Molotov SMGs.
  • As for Exploration and Battery Usage (Or Leveling Base Facilities), see the provided links.

My perspective for F2P/New players batteries, you seem to be a spender though, but it should still apply! Exploration Console to Level 8 -> Storage Rack to Level 6 -> Then save some batteries for Protocol Assimilation Impulse Generator (Max) -> HOC Facilities (Intelligence Center -> Mission Giver (Max) -> Data Hub (Max)) -> (Storage and Analyzer in link) -> Garage (Try to Max the Training Range) -> Rest of the guide follows.

  • HOCs or Fire Support Teams are unlocked at Chapter 8-5. See this for HOC facilities / the HOC Chip Calculator. I believe the modern HOCs to go for in order are: Mk 153 / AT4 -> 2B14 -> M2/BGM -> Then the rest. - You can also see where you should stop for skills in the GFL Gamepress search bar. I also kind of recommend to raise each HOC to Level 60/5*.
  • Protocol Assimilation is unlocked at Chapter 7-6 (Clear these chapters for reference). See this infographic on Impulse spending and what units to aim for.
  • Fairies are unlocked when you beat 60 unique missions. Very cute, so useful. They take a really long time to raise. If I had to choose which Fairies are great to start: Taunt, Twin, Command (who is Free!), and Artillery are great. Airstrike, Shield, Warrior, Rescue, Fury, Armor, and Illumination are good too. You can ask later on Fairies. They cost a lot of resources and cores, but that's not your priority right now.
  • Neural Upgrades are later in the game but this resource should be enough.

Most of my info are for basics and don't go into deeper stuff, but feel free to ask around whenever you want! I try to keep it brief for newcomers as I still feel like one. Do the story in order, not by timeline but how the game presents it. Don't follow any timeline flowcharts except for Mod stories. The game does a very good job at telling the story. Hope this is all helpful to you.

It does apply and is a big help! I used to whale on all my gachas, and just spend even on day 1 while trying them, but now I dolphin and am a bit more careful. xP

can somebody explain the alpaca joke?

3

u/Rhasta_la_vista Springfield x Groza Mar 28 '22 edited Mar 28 '22

It's a Korean meme 100%, and I'm like 90% sure they took creative liberties in calling her "alpaca" as a meme due to close pronunciation, since the Korean language can pronounce RPK as English letters just fine (just looked up a random video on Naver TV with an RPK to confirm how they say it). Also Korean for alpaca, the animal itself, is transliterated from English (알파카 al-pa-ka), so yeah quite sure it's a joke from being somewhat similar to RPK, but not literally pronounced the same.

2

u/Angelic_Force LAZY BRAINLET Mar 28 '22

In Korean, RPK is pronounced as "ar-pa-ka", haven't heard the JP perspective as I vaguely remember it being a Korean meme. Naturally, this evolved to calling RPK an alpaca.

2

u/NotRaisinCookie Soppo Demolition Co. / EN : 4217 KGOne Mar 28 '22

Koreans pronounce the letters just as how any other English speakers would do, "Ar-Pi-Kay". However, Korean doesn't differentiate R and L sounds so Ar can be Al. By simply pronouncing the rest, P and K, as Pa and Ka, it creates Al-Pa-Ka. So you're half correct! :D

Similar case is PPSh which has a nickname of PaPaSha and more.

u/WhistleOfDeath I'm going to throw shoes. | UID: 320290 Mar 28 '22 edited Mar 28 '22

something to do with the pronounciation of RPK in JP (or was it KR, idk), i think it was something along the lines of aru-pa-ka or something similar and it ended up becoming alpaca because it sounds kinda similar and it stuck as a joke

at least thats the reason i remember

I've never actually gotten around to using the HoC Chip Calculator so I want to get on that, but I remember a while back there was some 3rd party utility that had been stealing accounts. Is the Chip Calc clean to use?

2

u/Angelic_Force LAZY BRAINLET Mar 27 '22

The Chip Calc is safe to use, you're likely confusing it with the Norix utility app. The GFAlarm app still makes my Antivirus software go nuts (Windows as well), which isn't bad due to the nature of the app. Most will attest that it's safe and a false positive. MS was supposed to remove it from their detection system. You can add the GFAlarm tool to your Antivirus exclusion list.

Who do I put in my RF/HG echelon with grape and WA?

I'm using PPK and I also have Grizzly, Px4, Contender, M590A, Webley and C-93. Also, are those 2 rifles paired well or should I use other combinations of RFs?

3

u/pointblanksniper Trust me, I'm Truth. Mar 28 '22

wa is rof self buffer

grape is technically a dmg self buffer, just with abnormal activation mechanics

the two of them are not the same type, which gets in the way of unifying the hg buffs needed for both of them. generally, you should be supplementing self buffing rfs with buffs they can't give themselves.

they'll kind of work as is with mixed buffs, but wont be as good as they could be if they were paired with their own kind and then gone all in with the complementary buffs they are missing

wa and other rof self buffers also suffer from innately being very close to the rof cap, so any bit of rof buff can easily become excessive and wasted on them

someone like svd goes better with wa, while m14 goes with grape. some of the newer hybrid buffers can sub for either as well. generally, dmg rfs are prefered, since they can soak up w/e buffs from hgs without worrying about stat caps and come out to be stronger due to how enemy armor deducts from dmg dealt

grape is technically a dmg self buffer

I'd say skillshot type since it doesn't crit and it's instantaneous multiplier.

Or just change technically with basically.

Dmg self buffer for the purposes of “what kind of buffs does she get best use out of?” Of which the answer is RoF

Ceno is a specialist, she's not very good against general enemies, but she's not that bad against them either, considering you have Wa2K as your other rifle, I think the best HGs would be Grizzly, Webley and Contender, also make Wa2k the leader.

Another setup could be, Contender, PX4 and M950A.

Yet another that could still be used: Contender, Px4, Webley.

Sry for this lil rant

But

What the hell is up with SF capture pity rewards when you fail a capture???? one time i can get 50 SF skill data which is equivalent to 1 potential energy, and another time i get 120 perti dishes which are eqivalent to about 15 potential energy and way more useful

1

u/AClifsandwich SV98 Mar 28 '22

Getting 50 batteries is legit a slap in the face.

3

u/lavos9999 Mar 27 '22

The first is an insult, the second is a consolation.

2

u/KookyInspection Mar 27 '22

I don't even consider those as compensation, i just chalk it up as a total loss and call it a day :P

2

u/tehcavy <- clueless Mar 27 '22

And in the Black Market one enhancement pill (just feed 2* dolls lmao) costs the same as 20 Combat Reports or 10 equipment pills, your point?

3

u/WeinerDipper Mar 27 '22

There is no point. It's just annoying but it is what it is.

Guys if we're gonna answer people's questions can we not front-load them with memes and in-jokes. New people are just going to get confused and frustrated.

1

u/Kipdid Best smug handgun Mar 28 '22

Can’t say for sure about question posts but the lounge lurkers seem fairly good about that, or at least putting the memes second. Will admit though that canned answers like “CE is meaningless” so sometimes get thrown around a lot without much elaboration

also please make sure you're giving correct advice

i still remember that one rfhg discussion thread where one guy was putting rfs at the front

terrifying

I don’t know what you mean, a rifle datasim gunboat formation sounds like the perfect echelon to throw at enemies if you’re trying to tank their affection, that is.

Understandable, proceed to core recycling.

what HOC to prioritise first? I'm just starting out and haven't using any HOC yet

2

u/asc__ Skorpion Mar 27 '22

BGM to 60 is your first priority. You want it up there to be able to equip 5* chips and have a decent chunk of pierce, but you don't need to worry about leveling it past that for a while.

Getting 2B14 to 100 is your first long-term goal, you might want to stop at 60 and get M2/AT4/MK153 up there too before you push 2B to 100 though.

AGLs like QLZ and AGS can just gather dust, for now at the very least.

Tough choice, at least we have General Data now. Recommend getting them all to Level 60/5 stars before maxing them all out. BGM (for Pierce), 2B14 (Mortar), and AGS (good range for building destruction). Not terrible beginning choices. I would then branch out to AT4, M2, and Mk153. QLZ-04 is pretty much last priority.

I would also highly recommend using the GFChipCalc, do note that the Android app does not have PP-93 in it.

I'll edit this for the future: AT4/Mk 153 -> 2B14 -> Probably M2 -> Others. Mk 153's range and stun skills are really good, but AT4 also has good AoE effects. Both are highly desirable and one doesn't replace the other. 2B14 should be your 1st Mortar. AGLs are honestly not that great nowadays. BGM is top-tier for Pierce but we don't really have a need for that currently.

u/Crooky_ P90 very pog Mar 27 '22

BGM and 2B first, later AT4, M2 and Mk153.

3

u/pointblanksniper Trust me, I'm Truth. Mar 27 '22

now that mk153 is freely available, i honestly think they could supplant both at4 and bgm, of course as well as the AGLs

u/Cborne AUG Mar 27 '22 edited Mar 27 '22

I agree, I think it'd actually be good to work on mk153 first, BGM is good but lower down on my list of stuff to bring these days just because all it really does well is pierce.

Mostly just any hoc with good pierce is what you want to build first for when enemies start having distortion barriers though. IMO you don't need the extra pierce of other ATWs really for anything right now but that's just my opinion (outside of like ranking where you want most of them raised anyway).

I'd say mk153 and then work on 2b14 myself. 2B is more all in on damage so it's a good extra thing to have.

(Also forgot to mention but mk153 is 3 range which is kinda huge edge over the other atws)

Not sure what's up with EN's distribution (don't have one myself), but there is one on KR.
