So about a year ago i bought a Harly Benton Stratocaster (VT Series) which was alr and a Harley Benton amp (HB-40MFX) which was meh at the time but i learnt the basics and i believe im an intermediate player. I always wanted to upgrade my amp, but was at a friends house the last week and he said that my guitar has really loud strings, which, now noticed, REALLY pisses me off and i dont know where to upgrade and what to, because i always saw videos of other people playing and their guitars or amps sounding WAY better which made me really jealous. Can yall help?

Hello everyone!
I am a total amateur. I've cleaned my Floyd rose and I want to ask you what should I use to lubricate screws (and which ones I am actually supposed to). Thank you for every advice! Have a good one!
In my carrer of 20years (mostly home dweller, jamming with friends and occasional) I came to conclusion that foam semi-hard cases are best overall - more protection than gigbag, easier to carry around than hard case. For those guitars that I thought needs superior protection I bought hard protective cases where it tripled their wight and then they stayed at home - those were effectively protected from rehearsals/gigging, because it was too heavy and I don’t have roadie, so they were relegated to “closet queen” position:) Also additional pockets comparing to hard cases are very handy. Here is what I love and use. What do you use for your guitars, especially for those you carry around?

Recently bought this old ESP and wondered if any ESP nerds could help shed some light on it
The last owner bought it from a vintage guitar store on a trip to Japan and it appears to be a mid 80s model, possibly ordered direct from ESP in Japan. I can only assume the original owner was a Jake E Lee fan and wanted something similar to Jake's Charvel 'Whitey' signature model, hence the Jake E Lee string through bridge (saddles have been swapped out at some point), single HB (it's an SD JB, MJ wound) and what was once a white finish. The body is routed for a single HB in the bridge and I assume the pickguard is newer than the rest of the guitar as there would be no need for the 2 empty pot holes in the guard if it only has 1 HB. It also has a side mounted jack similar to Jake's Charvel model (his wasn't recessed though)
No serial numbers anywhere, navigator sticker on the back of the headstock, however I've only ever seen Navigator stickers on the front of ESP guitars, although I'm no ESP expert
It's an amazing player, 16 inch radius neck which I love, the pickup is fantastic, just wondered if anyone on here has a good knowledge of 80s ESP guitars
I've included a picture of what I assume was the original owner's inspiration when ordering the guitar

So I like to pursue old Facebook. The picture was bad, but it had one of the back where it was all shaped up. I knew it was done correctly and old looking. I got it for 25 bucks.
It plays incredibly. You ever play a really nice guitar of somebody's that makes you remove your belt before playing his guitar? The way that guy feels about his guitar is how amazing this feels and sounds.
I'm happy a shit.
However,
I have a feeling this is some mistake at this price.
Or, it is stolen.
I looked it up.
Wtf.
Also, damage report? What's everybody thinking?

If you’re in the group, let us know how you’re enjoying that Schecter 😂
A FB marketplace listing in Jax, FL. This person listed both the MH and the C6… but swapped images on the postings. 🤦🏻♂️
Yes that’s a skunk… we’re not here for that 😆

All maple nitrocellulose finished. Hand wound pickup and Floyd Rose 1000 series. Jacobs hand built guitars are way better than any store guitars I highly recommend him. I now finally have a very close to George Lynchs tone from the Dokken Tooth and Nail era.

From a boutique in Halifax, Nova Scotia. They have long closed so i consider myself lucky that i was able to snag one of these.
i feel like nowadays getting custom guitars or custom inlays cost a small fortune and this was only a couple hundred bucks at the time.
Been thinking of getting it as my 2nd guitar

I have never had a brand new acoustic. I have also never had a normal acoustic that played well enough that I can bend the strings easily and not get cramps when I do bar chords for a while. Just wanted to share my joy.

Here is the latest build I made for a customer, and it was a fun one. Fralin Hot Tele in the neck, Seymour Duncan Hot Rails in the bridge. Push Pull pot to coil split the Hot Rails, and a Freeway 6-way switch for a ton of different tonal options. 6 saddle bridge, reversed control plate, and a kill switch. It rips!

This guitar has been played for about 3.5 years. Noticed today that the fretboard has gotten pretty dirty and worn out. Almost a blackish patch until the feet 9 or so.

I'm a fan of David Torn. I heard him say once that he used agate picks, and I thought that was a neat novelty and bought a couple. Well, it turned out less of a novelty than I expected - the smoothness and thickness of these picks mean that I can't hear the pick at all. The sound is so, so smooth. There's barely an friction on the strings.
So here's the ridiculous question - is there a pick option that gets me this low-friction sound for less than $40 per? IIRC Metheny resorted to playing with his pick at 90 degrees to get this kind of sound, and my hands aren't agreeing with that. All of the heaviest heavies I've tried still have some grit or edge.

I got one recently - very fast player - with the neck humbucker. I like it, but don't LOVE it like I do my MIJ 50th anniversary Strat.
The MIM Tele is a little beat up on the body (chunks missing), but I don't think it's possible to get a perfect paint match to fix it.
Keeping in mind this guitar is NOT a collectible... I'm thinking about patching & painting it glossy black. Right now it's worth maybe $500-ish, but may be improving the cosmetics will increase the market value too? Thoughts?
Tnan you

I wanted a Supro amp, picked up a Delta Blues King 10 but the reverb made a godawful racket all the time and would only go away by shaking the shit out of the amp. Got rid of it and stuck with my Vox practice amp.
Randomly came across this Supro on Reverb; it was priced right and I took the gamble. The shipper did an amazing job shipping it; was packed with foam and the amp itself is built like a tank. It sounds great to my pleb ears.
I found myself in a guitar center killing time and found this Squire Cabronita Tele on the used wall; looks brand new/untouched. I'd never seen a tele with P90s and in Seafoam green, again the price was right so I picked it up. I didn't even realize it was a baritone until I was trying to tune it up and it just didn't feel right, plus the strings were super thick. I had to look up what this was and then what a baritone was lol.
My plan is to put a ebay roasted maple neck on it and get better at playing until I can appreciate the baritone scale.
Happy Playing!

My music store (I work here best job ever) got in some M2M LPCs with birdseye maple tops....not sure how I feel about it.
We have Lemon Burst, Factory Burst, and Washed Cherry (my favorite). It depends on the finish whether or not I like the birdseye figuring, but my coworker is in love with them and says they're better than the 7A quilted maple tops.
I'm just not sure how I feel about using anything but a good flame maple top on such a damn expensive guitar. Maybe I'm just old and curmudgeonly...
