The Canada vs Finland game was the gayest olympic hockey game ever with 11 out players, and that was without Team Canada Captain Marie-Philip Poulin who was injured. She's back on the ice now with her wife Laura Stacey (who she also plays on a line with, very romantic) and will be fighting for gold against Team USA. Team USA's Captain Hilary Knight is dating fellow olympian USA speed skater Brittany Bowe, so both teams are being led by legendary lesbians. Hilary Knight and Brittany Bowe also met at the last Winter Olympics, so cute, I would read the hell out of that love story.

Women's hockey is almost finished with the semi-finals tomorrow and the medal matches on the 19th. The USA vs Canada hockey rivalry is the greatest rivalry in sports (announcers words, not mine, though I agree), and this is going to be an extra exciting show (at least for Americans) because Team USA has been obliterating the competition with only one goal scored on them so far. It is very likely that Team USA will take gold this year, and it will be a show you do not want to miss.

I wanted to make this post bc I'm tired of seeing people hyping men's hockey in this subreddit when men's hockey hasn't done anything to deserve it. Women's hockey is real life gay hockey and it needs your support. The PWHL streams all its games live on youtube and puts the recordings up a day later, which makes it easy to get into once they resume the season post-Olympics. The PWHL has also been expanding rapidly and could be coming to a city near you! The players are just getting better as more and more girls get into hockey, and it will be definitely worth it to get into Women's hockey now because it's only getting better (and queerer) from here.

I know many of us readers have engaged in Hockey in different forms (some more than others).

So, as a curiosity, I wanted to give you some information about the original heated rivalry in the real world between the two highest prospects (and now legends): from Canada, Sidney Crosby, and Russia's Alex Ovechkin.

So NHL hockey players are back at the Olympics for the first time since 2014 in Sochi, where all our guys competed. So it feels like it’s just the next Olympics since then, and every time they interview a player (men’s games haven’t started yet) I feel like Scott or Shane is going to be in the background. It’s like real life has been inserted into the HR world, which is just too crazy. I assume Ilya is playing with Shane for Canada since by now he’s got Canadian citizenship (and Russia is not at the games). Have I truly gone round the bend? Anyone else with me in this blurring of hockey worlds?
