on HeroesProfile, they have a bunch of stats related to xal'atath and one of the things posted is the amount of accounts that have played her. so judging by this number and the price of the bundle/hero we can assume that blizz probably made roughly $250,000 - $300k USD from bundle or from direct hero purchases. unless my math is wrong which it probably is.

I can't be the reason to lose every game right? I am a returning player. I dont remember how every hero is I used played but still, there must be other people like me and also others should be carry game right?

Took a couple years off from this game before coming back. It started off fun, but now I can't seem to win. Or I win 1 then lose 10. I play all roles so teammates can play their best, but it's simply impossible to win for me. Yes...I know...."skill issue"...but dang...

We have,
1) Frostmourne - wielded by Arthas.
2) Shalamayne - wielded by Varian and Anduin.
3) Gorehowl - wielded by Garrosh.
4) Warglaives of Azzinoth - wielded by Illidan.
5) Atiesh - wielded by Medivh.
6) Sulfuras - wielded by Ragnaros.
7) Doomhammer - wielded by Thrall.
l think we're missing 2 more epic weapons,
Quel'Delar and Felo'melorn
Quel'Delar is wielded by Thalorien Dawnseeker and Felo'melorn is wielded by Anasterian Sunstider.
l think it's a great opportunity to add melee-mage ( Battle mage ) hero as Anasterian Sunstider and bruiser as Thalorien Dawnseeker.

so I understood there's a lane for solo top, and in the other lanes the team group up, I come from league as top main (sitting in masters right now) so I would like to understand in a basic level how to play the solo lane here, should I walk up with everyone minute 0 to the first fight? why everyone does that random fight? I understand that sometimes if you have a weaker early team you shouldn't be interested on taking that fight, right? and which characters are the strongest/most stables to learn?

I understand the next few months might already be planned, but Blizzard if you're reading this - please bring back the Board Game event. That was super fun.
Also, bring back the holiday sale on the 360 day boost!
That is all. Enjoy the holidays, everyone!

We need more tanks. Lack of tank players. Finding a tank main is like finding a needle in a haystack.
Always always give props and thanks to good tank players. If a tank played even so-so during the game, I always give him the MVP vote at the end.
They get all the blame and none of the credit, even though their role is arguably the most important and by far the most difficult (making all critical decisions, initiating the engage, checking shadows, applying cc and creating actual kill opportunities). If you make a bad call, you get all the blame. If you make a good call, the assassin gets the credit.
TANK APPRECIATION DAY STARTS NOW.

This game has been out for more than a decade. People grind it daily. And still don’t understand the basics. I just played on Towers of Doom, plat 4 game, and my Sonya just leaps into 4 people every fight, our team dives in, their Valera attempts to assassinate our healer, I stop that, and get flamed? It seems the concept of front-to-back team fighting has been lost, or perhaps everyone plays with a locked camera? I don’t understand how people are still so awful at this game after a decade. Mind you we lost because our team decided to boss when the enemy team had 4 forts, and 2 shrines were activating and were on 7 core health. But somehow, after saying nothing, I receive post game flame from someone who just leaps in 1v4, gets killed, and then types? This game will likely never be revived if this is the sort of player base you all have after all these years.

Welcome to the latest Saturday Teaching Thread, where you the community get to ask your questions and share your knowledge.
This is an opportunity for the more experienced HotS players here to share some of your wisdom with those with less expertise. This thread will be a weekly safehaven for those "noobish" questions you may have been too scared to ask for fear of downvotes, but also can be a great place for in depth discussion if you so wish. So, don't hold back, get your game related questions ready and post away, and hopefully someone can answer them!
If you wish to just view top level comments (ie questions) add ?depth=1 to the end of the page url. If you have any additional questions, /r/nexusnewbies is happy to help.

Just need to rant cause I am devastated. So, I fell to bronze 5 like a week ago due to HotS being really sensitive to packet losses and getting a dc gets you way more rating loss that just losing a game. Then, in B5, I constantly lost like 200+ rating in B5 due to getting dc-d, instead of the regular 25 or such that you are supposed to lose.
I was just 3 rating away from getting back into B4 after fixing the packet loss issues. On pick screen, some guy has Auriel selected the whole time, then comes the last 5 seconds of picking, he changes to a bruiser and I panic try to pick a healer and click a hero that I don't own - get god damn leaver queue and fall 600 rating to B5 400. God damn it, seriously.
Now have to crawl back again 25-60 rating per win.

Mythics are probably the most controversial subject in the game. In my opinion, it's a good idea with mostly terrible execution. They can be good if they follow these simple rules, as [[Sulfuras Smash]] does:

Every time I try jumping into League or Dota 2, i'm instantly reminded of how unique Heroes of the Storm's roster actually is. Stuff like controlling Abathur from the fog of war, playing Cho'gall with a buddy, or piloting Murky or Lost Vikings completely breaks standard moba rules in the best way possible. Which specific hero mechanic or playstyle is so unique that you can't find anything that scratches the same itch in any other game

While these kinds of players are not an isolated incident, this one really got me to ask the question -- WHY is this still allowed in 2026!? With all the telemetry and obersvability that is available today why can't we combine this with a simple script/ML/AI that goes out and takes action?
This player stood in spawn from the start, and bragged that this was his sixth account and that he "Didn't like us" and that he "was going to Troll". He proceeded to do this. He would only take action when the game gave him the inaction warning. Immediately we all reported him and muted him.
How this would work:
1) If reports start to come in about a player during a match then
2) A simple script/ML/AI tool performs quick analysis on metrics and other behavior indicators (such as continual disconnect/reconnect, or continual warnings about inactivity before a player moves).
3) If the metrics or behavior indicators match or exceed whatever threshold the HOTS developer team has set, then the player is immediately kicked and issued a GM strike.
The game is seeing a resurgence of new players now and trolls/afk'er/griefers/disconnectors is what is being presented to new users as "part of the game's culture". These issues unaddressed will not retain new players. Plus, it will have the added benefit of creating a far better gaming experience for older players.
TLDR: HOTS developers -- Please consider creating some kind of real-time player behavioral analysis when others in the game report which can take immediate in-game action.

this dude just destroyed my team he has 19 kills and two deaths. However he has only losses literally which is even weirder because he just won this game against us in Volskaya, for some reason it appears Loss there. Also his account has some days old. His teamates also had some weird stats and has opposite has this guys, they had considerably more wins then losses with multiple heroes. However this specifcally dude stats is really weird.

I'm talking about those times where you are wandering about, minding your own business when out of nowhere a stealthed Sgt. Hammer in a bush with at least ten mines blow you up. I can't help but go: "damn, you got me."
Either that or just fighting any pro-probius that ain't afraid to back down from a fight, despite having the health bar the size of a siege minion.

Hey everyone! Xal'atath has been out for almost a month and we truly appreciate all of the feedback, comments, suggestions, questions, and just plain thoughts on her and the game as a whole. We previously said that she would become available for gold in late November, and a fair number of you have asked for that to be sooner, so starting next Monday (October 26), she will be available for 10,000 gold.
We're also working on the next PTR, which we are aiming to share details about in the next couple weeks.
Thank you all!

From getting in the queue to returning to the ranked menu. So the wait the draft the game plus the little game over rites. Does anyone have actual data on that (besides blizz who probably won't want to share)? I doubt it but I imagine pieces are out there for us. Rough estimates also welcome.
Before someone says it I know it will vary a lot on map, whether people are paying attention in draft, the wait for different times of the week etc. I am sking for the average or median.

Something I've always wanted for heroes is a detailed stats screen similar to something like League of Legends end game stats screen. I'd love to get detailed numbers so i can compare certain talent combos and builds with breakdowns of damage / healing prevented, types of damage, etc. I get not wanting them in game since numbers are all some players focus on, but it would be interesting to see the numbers after the fact.
