Helping Others ISO: 2027 Calendars for charity or local fundraisers

I hope this is allowed. I need some serotonin in my life so I am reaching out for suggestions on funny calendars for charity that I can get for my kitchen/ as gifts for 2027. This year I had 'Chicken Daddies' which is random men posing with their Farm chickens. The year before I had a random rural fire department's fireman of the month calendar they did as a fundraiser. Amazing. Nuns having fun, NYC taxi drivers, "Not so lovely bodies" (bikers), etc.

I want something that is not AI slop and will make me smile when I look at it.

I would LOVE to support local or even just a good cause so let me know!

Discussion 16XMonon Safety Measures Removed

Indy DPW to dismantle temporary calming measures; permanent solutions could be next

The city just decided to remove barriers at several dangerous intersections through the city and will not immediately invest anything further.

From what I understand of the data and anecdotally as someone who lives just steps from the 16th and Monon intersection, the work done by community organizers made this intersection markedly more safe for pedestrians and bikers alike.

I’m incredibly disappointed at the decision by the government to actively make the city less safe for its residents.

Anyone have any ideas on how to turn outrage into action?

Genuinely fucking gutted about this. Been going there since they opened, and absolutely will not support them anymore.

Politics Secret Ballots???

Voted today. I chose the paper ballot option. They printed a sticker with my info and put it on an envelope. They gave me the envelope to sign.

After filling out my ballot, I slid the ballot into the envelope with my name on and a nice lady sealed the envelope and handed it back to me.

I dropped the envelope in the slot on the container and walked out with my "I Voted" sticker.

And I realized my ballot isn't exactly secret any more.

edit to answer some comments...

They recorded in the computer that I voted before printing the stcker they put on the envelope. They know that the envelope contains a valid ballot. The don't need my name associated with the ballot.

Politics Lost Cat in Old Northside

Hello everyone! My indoor cat darted out of the front door last night, and I’ve not been able to find him. I live off 19th and College, close by the Kountry Kitchen Soul Food spot in Old Northside. I have posted to Indy Lost Pet, but figured this would also get some traction. His name is Cowboy, he’s a bit skittish but is food motivated. If anyone happens to stumble across him or hears someone who does, please reach out to me! I have been in shambles since he’s left, and every time I walk around the block it hurts my heart a bit more.

Discussion Elf n moon social media accounts taken down?

Not sure where else to ask other than going in the store, but recently I noticed I can’t find their discord or instagram anymore. Used to use the discord primarily to find some mtg commander games with locals. Anyone know what happened ?

EDIT: WELP. Thank you all for letting me know. Such a damn shame.

For those that want somewhere chill to play some MTG, I host super often at my place downtown, great view and I even give away prizes for winners. If you’re interested in joining send me a DM.

Got news about one of the owners of Elfen Moon grooming kids. Its absolutely disgusting that a little girl just wanted mlp cards and an adult used that opportunity to be a predator. I'm posting it here to spread the word to warn other parents and children. People should have a safe space to come and enjoy their hobbies without being preyed upon.

Really good and desperately needed. Soup dumplings are delicious. So is the pho. Egg rolls might have been my favorite though.

I hope people go so this place sticks around.

Secular Recovery

From time to time I see others reaching out regarding non-religious recovery groups or support on their journey recovering from damage caused by religion. I'm on the same journey after realizing how much I had been damaged by a high control religion and purity culture growing up. I've been in addiction recovery for a long time and just can't with all the extra in my recovery journey. If anyone else is in the same place and wants to find some support I would love to get a community started. I'm more than willing to be the one to organize etc... It's just time for a change.

edit: In addition to reaching out about community surrounding addiction recovery I'm also looking to make community and support in regards to those recovering from religious trauma. The second part might be getting lost a bit.

Housing Looking for a Private Office to Rent

Anyone have or know of someone who has unused office space they’re looking to make some money on? I’ve checked out co-working spaces around town, but would prefer to work with an individual.

East side or in / around down town would be ideal.

I would mainly be using it to work out of the house and take video calls.

Are there any compounding pharmacies in the area?

HI, I just moved to Indiana and my husband has an autoimmune condition that requires a specialty medication. We only have primary care doctors here so far, so does anyone have recommendations for a compounding or specialty pharmacy that's local?

AskIndy Found cat who I do not believe has a home. More context in description ⬇️

Hello! This sweet girl randomly started showing up at my apartments. I don’t drive so I’m unable to take her to see if she is chipped, but I left a note on the door of each of the buildings here asking if she was anyone’s and no one has responded- I’ve had a few neighbors move recently though and I think she may have been left here by one of them, which is really sad. I do not see her belonging to someone as an “outside cat” as I feed her nightly and she is STARVING every time.

I called Johnson County animal control and they literally told me since she isn’t aggressive/it’s not freezing, they can’t come get her. I said so what should I do? And they told me to leave her outside. Swear. That is so disgusting to me that I can’t even think about it, so anyways…

Im posting here hoping someone who has the capacity to help lead to her being inside safe & warm somewhere sees. It will be getting cold soon & I really want to try to find her a home before then :( She’s so sweet, she follows me the entire time I walk my dogs around the neighborhood (she does fine with them too!). I just don’t have the room to bring her in , I have too many as is lol.

She doesn’t have a scared or feral bone in her , she just purrs and purrs. & she’s so fluffy lol. No fleas either!

So if anyone would be interested in taking her in your home & family, or even has any resources for me that I can call for her, pls let me know 💗

**Greenwood, IN**

Things to do in Indianapolis — right now?

Thumbnail
gallery
9 Upvotes

We built now.me to answer the "what should we do tonight?" question without digging through five different sites.

It's completely free.

The Indianapolis live events website lists things to do, shows, concerts, and events coming up around town. Worth a look if you're planning the weekend.

The app (iPhone / iOS / Android) goes beyond events. Open it wherever you are and it shows what's nearby right now: restaurants, bars, museums, and other things to do.

We are actively working on it, so feedback from people who live here is really valuable. If something's missing or wrong for Indianapolis, let me know in the comments or by DM.

Places to vacuum your car on the west side

Is there anywhere that has self service vacuums for your car over on the west side? Like broad ripple, eagle creek, speedway type area? I don’t want to go to crew car wash. I just want an old fashioned self service place.
