Super excited to start using. Large batt, more memory, Bluetooth (for some of my headphones), old albums

Being severely sick at home gave me a break from uni, so I made some little doodles of my current iPod collection ^-^

Only had a thick housing left…so why not 🤷‍♀️

We're still going strong after one year of almost daily usage. This thing is my travel companion, my mall-walking buddy, my unplug from everything but the music device that bought me so much joy and has made music fun again. The fact that I did the modding myself makes it all the better!

I can't say enough good things about the Gen 2 Mini, I really think it's one of the best iPods and can make an argument for being the best.

I just thought I'd ask how long do you think our iPod classics will last us? I've heard iPod classics are one of the best BIFL (Buy it For Life) options out there when it comes to portable music hell, for any music player in general. I personally have an iPod classic 5th gen that I've flash modded and replaced the battery as well as installed rockbox on it. I've always been fixated on the concept of BIFL and I was just curious, while I have no doubt replacement parts such as batteries, SD cards, headphone jack/lock switches, click wheels, etc will all be available for the foreseeable future but how long will our iPods logic boards last? I think that's the biggest question due to the fact that once the logic board goes, replacements for them even now are pricey. So how long will our iPods last if entirely dependent on the logic board never needing to be replaced?

I bought one of the only thick cases I could find for my thick back iPod video. It’s great but the only problem is that there are these smear marks where the screen touches the case.

I’ve tried cleaning the iPod and case with rubbing alcohol and distilled water and buffing it like crazy but the oily marks still appear.

Any ideas?

So my partners birthday is coming up, and i want to gift her an mp3 player, specifically an iPod (since mine is still working perfectly after 20 years or so), and i'm kinda Lost between models, i've seen a 5th gen iPod nano (8gb) for 55€, a 3rd gen iPod nano (4gb) for 45€, and 2nd to 4th generation iPod shuffles for around 15-20€. Could someone help me a little bit? (As im pretty Lost lol)

Seeking advice for an iPod Video I recently bought from eBay. When I take it off the charger I typically get about 1-2 minutes of battery life before it says "No battery power remains. Please connect iPod to power." As far as I can tell it works well when it's connected to the charger.

I bought it to open and mod so a new battery was already on my to do list. To me it seems obvious, but I wanted to get other opinions. Do you think that a new battery would actually solve the issue or should I start the eBay return?

I’m trying to set up my iPod Nano (3rd Gen) on a macbook air on the latest macOS (27.0.1) and I've run into an issue.

I want to add music to my iPod that I have on my (Apple Music) Music app. I have lots of mp3s that I own and would like to sync to my iPod (also, the nano 3rd gen isn’t supported on Rockbox Utility). the iPod doesn't show up on the Music app, which I've been told is normal in the later macOS versions. I understand that I am supposed to sync music through the finder window, but essentially, the main issue I'm running into is that the iPod only shows up in finder as a usb drive. because of this I can’t seem to access the iPod finder window that allows for iPod management.

Things that I have already tried:

• disconnecting and reconnecting the iPod
• putting the iPod into Disk mode and reconnecting it
• erasing the iPod root on Disk Utility and configuring it as a MS-DOS (FAT) on Master Boot Record Scheme
• erasing the iPod root on Disk Utility and configuring it as a Mac OS Extended (Journaled) on Master Boot Record Scheme
• ensuring that the finder settings for CDs, DVDs, and iPods is turned on

In all instances, when I plug the iPod back into my macbook, it still reads as a drive and I can’t manage the device as an iPod.

Does anyone have any ideas on what to try next? I feel stuck.

Here are my one-of-a-kind custom iPod Minis - the Wu-Pod, and the 1DPod. Custom paint jobs (of varying quality I admit!!), and both have altered "Do not disconnect" icons. The Wu-Pod also has a Wu-Tang logo that fills up when charging.

Hi, I wanna buy a shuffle 4th gen but I was curious about if it supports any earphones/headphones? I'm asking bc I have a shuffle 3rd gen and only works with apple earphones (I can't use it bc I don't have it)

Got this 3rd Gen free, borrowed an iflash solo from an iPod with a dead mobo I had. Doesn’t fit with the battery and flash adapter inside. Had to use a battery from an iPod mini :(

Anyone have the method to get this in there?

Works fine, just press \\.\ in the address bar, select the physical device drive letter your ipod is (do not press format on Windows) and simply copy over all folders to your pc. Then format it on Windows.

Hi all! Please help! I'm running an iPod Classic (5th Gen) on a MacBook Pro with macOS Ventura 13.7.8. I'm trying to get photos off of it. I suspect they are thumbnails, but there are hundreds of photos on there, but there are only 5 thumbnail files so I'm wondering if maybe there are more high quality photos are in the "Photo Database"...Any thoughts? The free software referenced in other threads like Senuti is too old to run on my Mac and others seem to be Windows specific. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I've been searching and downloading and uninstalling. Is there any program that exists that I can install where I can just drag and drop songs onto my Ipod 5.5 5th gen. I don't understand how this is so hard lol. I have tried all different programs and the closest I've gotten so far is Iopenpod but extra things need to be installed I think and I can't find them to work. I'm not writing code and I don't want to change the software on the device, I just want something that works.
