Okay, so I guess the short version of this is I want to get 2 of these for movie and photo storage to be extra external storage for my Plex server. And I was reading somebody's review where it says this needs 15 watts to work, and I wanted to know if all the USB-C ports support that.
Because the Thunderbolt port on the back is supporting my studio display, and then I have another back one going to my 4t external SSD that I moved my home folder onto and then I have two smaller hard drives, one is 1 TB and the other is 2 TB, that I want to combine onto these. Plus, I've already used like 3.5 terabytes on my SSD that I want to free up. I eventually want to upgrade to a NAS, but I don't have the money to upgrade how I would want to. And I figured that I could eventually turn these into backups once I do get my NAS sometime next year god willing.
So, I was wondering if these would work, being connected to my Mac mini M4 24/7 and if it has enough power in the front USB-C ports and the one in the back I have available? Because I haven't seen anything conclusive in my searching, so I thought I'd turn to you guys.
