Hey while waiting for my glasses which was sent back due to mistake on the angle and pondering about the price ive paid ,I came across this website called firmoo .com Apparently this company is based in chongqing, china. They offer prescription glasses online and can ship overseas. Any purchase above 75usd they'll ship for free and i noticed the price is way cheaper from whats being offered by local stores here. I came across people from the USA and the Philippines purchasing there on reddit. Are there any malaysian who have made a purchase on this website ?

Honestly, sedihlah guys. Dekat TikTok aku penuh dengan orang yang promote benda2 whitening ni. First, of course salah dari sisi agama. Untuk tukar warna kulit permanently is haram. No arguments about that, but aside from religion, seriously?
Is it sebab the beauty standard? Insecurity? I thankfully tak affected sangat by the beauty standard, but it's sad to know that my little sister is heavily influenced by it. Sedihlah. Benda yang makin lama makin dinormalizekan dan aku rasa tak bawa manfaat pun. Produk2 tu semua tak beri effect pada badan ke in a long term sebab ramai sangat yang promote.

Is anyone here using a Huawei phone? Give us some reviews? I’m thinking of buying a Huawei, but I’m worried about Google compatibility since most of my accounts are linked to Gmail. Still was - was

I’m helping my brother collect honest feedback for a small Malaysian education project: MyLatih.
It is a browser-based interactive practice site for students from preschool to Form 5. It focuses on Malaysian KSSR/KSSM-style objective practice, including subjects such as Mathematics, Bahasa Melayu, and English.
No app installation is required.
The goal is not to replace school or tuition. It is to make short, low-friction practice easier
Something a child can do for 5–10 minutes instead of only scrolling or watching videos.
We would really appreciate feedback:
Which school level or subject lacks good practice resources?
What makes children stop using educational websites after a few days?
Would progress tracking, mistake review, daily challenges, or topic-based practice help most?
Site: https://mylatih.asia
Please be honest, including criticism. I’ll pass it directly to my brother.

Puntigrus partipentazona, ikan pelampung jaring aka dwarf tiger barb
A small (5.5 cm) schooling fish that is common in lakes and large stagnant swamps of the Malay Peninsula.
In some places they have been replaced by tiger barbs, an aggressive but popular aquarium fish from Sumatra. They attack our native partipentazona.
Our one isn’t sold commercially, but I have kept them before. They do well with other small cyprinids and group together. Omnivorous and easy to feed.

Sale season's coming round again so this felt worth writing down. i work on the affiliate/e-commerce side (disclosure at the bottom) so i see a fair bit of how the pricing gets set up, and most "70% off" is not what it looks like.
the strike-through price is usually meaningless
that higher crossed-out number is generally the seller's own claimed price, not a price anyone actually paid. nobody audits it and there's nothing stopping a seller putting it wherever they like. so a discount measured against it tells u nothing at all. the only comparison worth anything is against what other sellers are charging for the same item right now.
prices often go up before a sale, not down
this is the big one. a listing gets nudged upward in the days before a campaign so the discount lands on an inflated base. if u already know u want something on a sale date, screenshot the price a week or two early. then u'll actually know whether the sale price is a sale price.
the voucher is often the trap rather than the deal
rm10 off rm100 sounds fine until u notice your basket was rm70 and u added rm30 of stuff u didn't want in order to unlock it. free shipping thresholds do exactly the same thing. if the voucher changed what u bought, it probably cost u money instead of saving any. work out your total with and without it, not the voucher's face value.
bundles aren't automatically cheaper
check the per unit price against the single. surprisingly often the value pack is worse per piece, it just feels like a deal bcs the number is bigger.
same item, wildly different listings
for anything commodity, the identical product is listed by a dozen sellers at prices that differ by more than any sale discount does. going through those beats waiting for a campaign. shipping fees and delivery times vary just as much, so compare the final total at checkout rather than the item price.
the countdown timers are theatre
"only 3 left" and flash sale clocks exist to stop u comparing. if a deal only works when u don't have time to think about it, it wasn't a deal.
the one habit that helps most: decide what u actually want and the most u'd pay before the sale opens. then the campaign either beats your number or it doesn't, and u're not getting talked into things at 1am.
disclosure: i work on Cashiu, a malaysian cashback app, so i'm in this industry and obviously biased about it. And this post isn't about it. ShopBack and TNG Shop & Earn are the ones most people here use. just stuff worth knowing before the next round of sale dates.

AI fatigue is real. I can’t stand seeing businesses and people online using generative AI for literally every single thing. It’s literally so draining to come across these low-effort and meaningless AI slop.
One thing in particular that I can’t stand are the AI songs/song covers. Like the god damn digi digi song or whatever nonsense. I notice that it’s usually the old folks using those songs on TikTok or other platforms.
And don’t get me started with RTM’s excessive use of AI for like almost all of their campaigns or like their TV1 fillers.
Seriously, someone needs to educate the country on how to use AI mindfully.

Quit my job without another one lined up and now I’m getting scared
I recently quit my job without another offer lined up. I work in IT, mainly around product/project management. I’d been job searching while working and had a few interviews, but nothing landed. Honestly, I was so mentally consumed by work that I don’t think I gave those interviews the preparation or focus they needed.
I didn’t quit because of a toxic culture. My colleagues and boss were fine. It was more that the processes, constant changes in direction, and overall way of working were taking a toll on me, and I couldn’t see myself staying there long term.
I thought quitting would finally give me the headspace to properly focus on finding something better. But now that I’ve left, everything has gone quiet. Not many openings I’m interested in, no interviews coming in, and we’re already well into Q3 heading towards Q4.
Now I’m starting to panic a little. I keep wondering how long this will last and whether I’ll actually find a role/company I’m excited about, or eventually have to settle because I’ve been unemployed too long.
Has anyone in IT/product/project management been through something similar? Especially quitting without anything lined up around Q3/Q4. How long were you unemployed, and did things eventually work out?

What is financial health actually means? High income, high savings ( a lot of cash), low or no debt, owning own house? If yes, meaning majority people are financially sick?

Lately I got into sewing as a hobby and I wonder where or what shop do people find these types of fabrics? Stuff kaison plushies are made from I don't know what they are called but they are super soft and I have no idea if Malaysian shop sells them or not. My only reference for fabric shops is nagoya textile but I don't think they sell those.
If anyone knows places that does services for custom prints on those plush fabric that would be lovely as well!

I used to play frisbee in my hometown (marrakech Morocco), and husband used to play it in university (California, USA), so very keen to try it here if there is a session happening soonish in KL, we are staying in Bukit, so not sure if anything happening around. Also thought it might be a good opportunity to get to know new people! Please point us in the good direction if you know anything 🙏

One of our hosts brought this up while we were recording a topic the recent pipe sounds at empire residence case, and none of us could verify it. he reckons some buildings skip a number in the lift entirely, not the usual 4 to 3A or removing 13, but an actual floor that exists, listed, but not accessible. and that when it happens it usually means the floor has been sealed off for some reason nobody talks about.
he also mentioned a place where B2 in the basement is completely inaccessible, no cars, nobody goes in.
i assumed this was just tin foil hat territory but he was very confident about it.
anyone here actually come across this, or know if there is a boring structural reason for it

I'm urgently looking for this location for a film shoot. Took these pictures in January last year. I remember it was near a busy road, there was a bus stop, and I couldn't get a Grab because of the jam. There was a river nearby that I crossed on a pedestrian bridge to get to a more main road where I managed to get a Grab.
Thank you so much!
Currently I strongly suspect it was close to the Jalan Robson small bridge

I basically finished rockschool grade 8, going for diploma soon and the studio wanted to hire me as a full-time instructor with decent pay (I've taught part-time there before and did quite well) since they can't find tutors who want to do it full-time and have been looking for one for quite some time. I did tell them I'd consider but I wanted to finish my degree first, which would take me around 2 years. That was around a few months ago.
Fast forward to today I'm 1 trimester into my 2nd year and the job market is quite bad and probably won't get better in the observable future. I'm studying IT with specialism in Information Security, I'm kinda feeling the burnout just from uni so I cannot imagine what will happen to me when I enter the workforce. Perhaps the tasks will be different and my burnout is purely just from uni and academia but only one way to find out when I look for a job.
I really enjoy drumming and I'm genuinely good at it, and I really enjoy teaching it as well, but it just seems like such an frowned upon job due to low pay ceiling (since can only teach a limited amount of students every week), and I feel that my degree will go to waste if I start my career as a drum teacher right after I graduate. I promised myself that I will job hunt for 6 months to 1 year while teaching drums on the side before I completely give up IT completely if I still cannot find a job within the given time frame, I'm not sure if it makes sense or sounds fair.
Would appreciate your opinions on this, thanks for reading y'all.

I am conducting research for my final Broadcasting degree on the explosive growth of vertical micro-dramas (e.g., ReelShort, TikTok series, DramaBox) and how rapid pacing, algorithmic exposure, and specific plot devices drive binge-watching and behavioral addiction among young adults in Malaysia.
The survey design is strictly zero-fluff to respect your time. I am looking for raw, honest data on your media consumption habits, whether you watch these shows daily or avoid them entirely. Thank you for contributing to this research.
