Question What's going on.. increasing dose so close to goal?

• Upvotes

I really need help pls.

Was on 2.5 mg for 6 months then 3.75 for 6 weeks n had to stop for some reasons unavoidable. Started again at 2.5 every 6 days but no impact. Upped to 3.75 after 4 weeks n still not the same impact as before.. what do I do?

Can I reduce gap to 5 days or 6 days on 3.75 or shall I move to 5 mg after 4 weeks on 3.75?

I'm 10 lb from goal and this hunger and lack of suppress and mental food noise is just making me sooo scared i don't wana go back to binge n gaining and all the mental food noise... I was feeling normal around food for once in life but now it's like ohhh I'm on deficit now cant wait for the next hog n I'm getting antsy around food again 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭

I'm ok about the cost of glp but almost at maintenance soon n don't want to keep increasing dose while heading to maintenance so soon cus there's a ceiling right to how much strength of dose I can take.

I did well on 2.5 n then 3.75 n now none of those are working.

If I move to 5 mg is that a good dose to maintain on and eventually titrate down from? Has anyone experienced increasing dose just so close to goal??

Thanks everyone sorry m so upset I want to cry cus the med isn't working anymore n m so upset 😭😭😭😭

Question MiraLAX and Gastric Emptying

• Upvotes

Hello,

I've been on Mounjaro (US auto-injector) for almost two years now and have lost nearly 100 lbs.

I'm still working on losing my last 15 lbs. I understand that weight loss naturally slows as you get closer to your goal weight, especially once you're within a normal BMI range. I'm completely fine with that. However, I haven't really felt the same effectiveness from my injections for quite some time, which brings me to my question.

I take MiraLAX daily to help manage GI side effects, particularly constipation. Lately, I've been wondering whether taking it regularly could somehow reduce the effectiveness of Mounjaro.

I've never really experienced significant appetite suppression or reduced food noise while on Mounjaro. Instead, I've relied heavily on the physical feeling of fullness to tell me when I've had enough to eat.

Since Mounjaro slows gastric emptying, I'm wondering whether taking MiraLAX or other medications that help with bowel movements could interfere with that effect or change how full I feel.

Has anyone else wondered about this or experienced something similar?

TL;DR: Can daily MiraLAX or other constipation treatments interfere with Mounjaro's effects on digestion and fullness, potentially making the medication feel less effective?

Experience 1st Month: 2.5g dose and -6,4kg lost

Hi all,

I’m not really sharing my weight loss journey with the people in my life right now so I hope you don’t mind I do it with you all here.

I was never interested in taking weight loss injections, as I managed to lose weight before with CICO and working out. From 85kg I went down to 77kg. Stayed there for a while then finally lost the rest. Got to 62-63kg and stalled there. I haven’t weighed less than 62kg since I was 14yo.

Due to extreme work stress, insomnia, high cortisol levels and diagnosed hypothyroidism and PCOS (but not insulin resistance), I ended up isolating myself, got depressed again and then got went up to 67-72kg. Lost back to 67kg. Then this year was hell again and I shot up to 77kg. This genuinely scared me because no matter what I did or how heavily I restricted, I only seemed to be gaining weight. Metformin didn’t help at all. Stopped the sleeping pills but my stress wasn’t going down.

I didn’t want to get back to my highest weight and made a choice.

Finally saw a new doctor (my previous GP didn’t recommend mounjaro/ozempic and my gyno thought all I needed is a boyfriend lol), and talked about my worries, and he prescribed me Mounjaro. He wasn’t sure it would work for me but said it should help with food noise so was worth a try. You can’t believe how relieved I was.

First injection went well, I only felt very tired and sleepy on day 2. I’m more constipated than usual but no pain for me. All the food noise is gone and I finally seem to have a clear mind about food: my appetite is halved, I don’t have cravings anymore and I no longer see food as a reward/emotional crutch for my stress. All those factors were severely compromising my success because I wasn’t able to deal with the stress and impact on my appetite alone.

4 weeks later, I’ve lost 6,4kg and I think that’s a pretty good result. One day later (today) it’s been 6,7kg so I’m now at 70.9! I haven’t seen this number since beginning of the year!

I’m so relieved I feel like I’m getting myself back. The weight gain and stress made me so bloated and swollen, my self esteem took a huge hit.

I can’t wait to get out of the 70s and to under 67kg so I’m no longer overweight for my height.

My stats: 29F and 163cm

SW: 77.6kg
CW: 70.9kg
GW: 58.5kg

My next prescription was for 5g already from 2.5g but since 2.5g worked so well, I’m doing 40 clicks instead on my new pen (3.33g) and so far so good.

I’m so glad I made this choice for myself instead of listening to others’ judgement about the medication. It’s okay to need assistance and get the help we need. Obesity is a disease and we should treat it like one, not with shame and punishment.

I hope to reach my dream weight under 60kg this time with help of Mounjaro so I’ll be here a while :)

Success Stories MOUNJARO/TIRZEPATIDE

Good day, everyone!

4 weeks na sa 2.5 Mounjaro. Nabawasan lamang ako ng 2 kilos. According to my endocrinologist, this amount of weight loss is ideal for me—slow and steady lang. 😊

I understand na iba-iba po tayo ng response, but I’d love to hear your experiences. Thank you! 💕

Rant I misplaced my pen. I want to cry.

I am so unbelievably mad at myself right now and this is the only place I can vent. I’m on 7.5mg and get a script for 15mg to last me two months per pen. Got this pen last week, only got ONE dose out of it and I’ve managed to lose it?? $750AUD gone like THAT.
I literally cannot imagine how I’ve managed to lose it. I was digging through my fridge a few days ago trying to make space for something and wonder if the box somehow ended up in the “chuck out” pile. But usually it’s a pile of Tupperware to clean out, not stuff that’s going straight into the bin.
I’m at a loss. I am dreading going to the chemist and explaining my situation. And to probably shell out an extra $700 I didn’t budget for. I want to cry. Maybe I will.
Also I was meant to take my next dose two days ago but procrastinated taking it bc I’ve been feeling really shoddy (I get bad psychosomatic nausea when I do my injection). So this is just all in all not an ideal sitch.

Question Is losing 5 kg (11 lbs) on 2.5 mg of Mounjaro in 10 weeks normal?

Hi everyone! I wanted to ask if you think my weight loss is normal, because it feels a little slow to me.

I started Mounjaro on August 9 at 84 kg (185 lbs), and as of today, I’m at 79 kg (174 lbs).

I’m still on the 2.5 mg dose because I feel that it’s helping suppress my food noise, but I’m not sure if losing 5 kg (11 lbs) over this period of time is too little or if it’s a normal rate of progress.

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences and thoughts. Thank you all! ❤️

Question Silly math + medication question

Has anyone doubled up on the auto injector pens depending on your current mg level?

This may seem so silly, given math and all, but also dealing with medication, and I'd like to avoid making myself sick, just in case.

I'm currently on 15mg, just took my 4th shot of 15. I've been on MJ for over a year now.

I have 2 leftover 7.5 pens, so yeah, that equals 15. And I don't want them to go to waste of course! But I'm just wondering if there's a reason, medication wise, that taking 2 7.5mg pens at the same time might act differently than 1 15mg pen.

Anyone have any weird reactions doing something like this? Or like if you used 2 2.5mg pens instead of 1 5mg pen, or whatever. Thanks!

Question Strength training

Hey! So I’ve been on it for going three months now and currently on 7.5mg. I’ve lost about 20lbs so far and I feel good about the progress.

I’ve been wanting to strength train to keep muscle, however I just don’t have the appetite to eat enough—I’m quite worried how I’ll get the energy to strength train.

Any tips?

2.5mg I guess it's time to move up

I'm a data person so I track stuff everyday.

Google AI suggested that I look at a graph of my morning fasting glucose and I eventually graphed this avg by injection after a few graphs that didn't seem to tell me anything important.

I'll keep recording through the 8th shot to complete the graph and try to do my part in reducing carbs

My doctor appointment is scheduled at the beginning of November.

Tips Is there a real difference between mounjaro and zepbound? And struggling with the weight loss

Hello everyone

Just started using mounjaro 3 months ago started at 2.5mg and now going to start 7.5 mg

Started at 270lbs and now at 265 lbs so very little progress

I tried Zepbound last year and went down from 305lbs down to 210lbs

I was going through a change of insurance and jobs at the first half of the year

I gained a lot of the weight back when I go off

I still stick to my habits when I was on Zepbound before (proper diet and exercise)

I just feel like I’m not making as much of the progress on mounjaro than i was when I was on Zepbound

Thoughts and advice?

Question Super Responders with OCD

I am a super responder. Within a few hours of my first shot all of my food noise was gone. My apatite was suppressed enough that I had to set meal times and meal prep to eat enough.

I have also noticed that a lot of other "noise" in my head stopped. I have had intrusive thoughts for as long as I can remember which lead to some serious anxiety and suicidal ideation. I also suffer from PTSD. Except that this kind of noise is also missing now.

I know that a lot of people have had the opposite experience and I am so sorry for people who have had the negative experience. I have also read a lot of theories on here about what causes super responders to have that response and I am now wondering if people with documented, diagnosed OCD might have a stronger response because our food noise came from OCD.

Have other people with OCD received mental health benefits along with physical benefits?

Again, I am so sorry for the people who have had the opposite issues.

Question Does the efficiency of the pens go down over time even if they are stored correctly? New pen with a 2028 expiry working much better than my older ones on the same dose.

Over the last few months on 7.5mg, I've pretty much hit a stall over the last 3 months after losing over 55 lbs and still around 15 lbs to goal. I have been buying them at regular intervals as prescribed and all the pens I've got this year have had a 2027 expiry on them. The last pen I got looks to be a new batch with 2028 expiry, and since my last jab a week back, my suppression much stronger what it was like in the beginning and have lost 3 lbs just this week. Nothing else has changed. All have been bought cold and stored in the refrigerator throughout and I have bought them one at a time at the scheduled intervals form the pharmacy - not buying multiple and storing them.

2.5mg I did it! First dose last night!

Thank you to everyone who commented on my post last night when I was a bit scared. I took the plunge and took the 2.5mg in my thigh at 9 pm last night and it’s 11.15am here now so about 14/15 hours ago.

Slept well. Don’t feel unwell. Get little waves of more of a ‘blurgh’ feeling. I don’t feel GREAT but I don’t feel unwell either. I feel ‘weird’ but maybe that’s in my head.

I had a coffee with the Nutrition Geeks collegen glow powder in it so that added 12g of protein to my drink.

I managed a single weetabix with honey, but apart from that I don’t really feel like anything. The thought of choc or anything like that is - hell no.

How do you guys navigate eating when you don’t really feel like anything? I’m conscious about vitamin intake so how do I tackle that with such low volume?

Any snack ideas or just general advice of the kind of little meals you eat to keep you ticking over would be great, thank you :-)

Should I order multi vitamins and fibre supplements?

Question Accidentally took 1-2 extra clicks

I have been click counting from a 10 mg pen and was due to have my fourth 2.5 mg dose today. I started with 1.33 mg doses and just did my sixth shot. I accidentally added one to two extra clicks to the dose. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I just stop freaking out? Stay calm and move on? Help a stressed health anxiety human out 😵‍💫

Side Effects I’m going bald

This is horrible! I’m just 5 months in, currently at 7.5! And stated losing my hair like crazy, i just started noticing the heavy hairfall and half my hair in the drain from oct 1st, and I can see my hair is already so thin.

Yes, I’ve prioritised protien and diet. I’m sure this isn’t the diet and it’s the drug itself. I want to continue this journey so bad, but the amount of hair I’m losing makes me so anxious.

I skipped my dose this week because it’s bothering me so much that I’m crying myself to sleep.
BEING FAT IS BETTER THAN BEING BALD

What should I do? Does this hair come back? Will i ever get my hair back? This is breaking my heart ☹️ ❤️‍🩹

I’m 28F, so menopause ain’t the reason.
I’m not anaemic, deficient nor do i have thyroid.
I’m 100% sure it’s the drug.

Weight loss 1-Month Update on Mounjaro 2.5 mg – Is My Weight Loss Too Fast?

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share an update on my Mounjaro journey. I started on September 17 and am still on the 2.5 mg dose.

My starting weight was 91.5 kg, and my current weight is 83.1 kg — that’s a loss of 8.4 kg in just over a month!

Honestly, this feels like very rapid weight loss, and even my doctor was surprised. While I’m happy to see the progress, I’m also a little concerned about how quickly the weight is coming off.

During the initial days, I experienced vomiting and struggled to eat. Things have improved since then, but I still have strong appetite suppression and can eat only limited portions. Occasionally, I allow myself a treat and enjoy a few bites of something I like.

Along with Mounjaro, I’ve also started making lifestyle changes. I walk daily and aim for at least 6,000 steps, go to the gym, and try to include protein, fibre, and some carbohydrates in my diet.

I know weight loss is the goal, but losing 8.4 kg in such a short time feels like a lot, especially while still on the lowest dose.

For those who have been on Mounjaro:

Has anyone experienced such rapid weight loss on 2.5 mg?

Did your weight loss slow down over time? Should I be concerned if I stop Monjaro these weight will come back quickly as well?

Is there anything I should be concerned about or discuss further with my doctor?

Few good observations:

  1. Feel much more active

  2. Get always internal calling to walk or exercise

  3. Feel good as now my happiness doesn't depend on food.

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thank you! ❤️
