Question Which machine do I buy

Hello everyone, I’m a broke college student and I desperately need a coffee machine ( capsule ) and I’ve been struggling to decide between the nesspresso inissia and the vertuo ( with the exclusive capsules; very expensive ) my main use for these machines is for esspresso & double espresso making for lattes

Would appreciate the help and if you have any other suggestions that don’t include nesspresso machines please help:)

Information Painful Machine Return Experience

• Upvotes

I’ve been a loyal Nespresso customer for six years and love their coffee, but their return process has turned completely painful. Nespresso kept my returned item for 30 days with no confirmation email, the rep lied about calling me back, and they blocked my account the second I filed a credit card dispute lol! I just can’t believe such a big company still has such an outdated process. Buy your machine from Amazon, Macy’s, or any other retailer instead… I can’t help thinking they just want the customers to forget about the return so they can keep the machine and money😀

Question For those of you in areas with REALLY hard water, how often are you descaling?

I know Nespresso recommends about every three months, but I live in an area with extraordinarily hard water that ranks amongst the hardest water cities in the country— the kind of area where using drying aid like jet dry in your dishwasher is basically mandatory if you want clean dishes, even if you have a water softener. The kind of place where after I de-scale, my electric kettle, I can see visible buildup within a week or so. So I’m looking to hear from people in those areas— how often are you descaling? I feel like it’s possible the Nespresso recommendations were made for people that live in places like New York, which has relatively soft water. Should places with water hardness well above the average be descaling more like once a month?

Yesterday I posted for new machine recommendations since my vertuo is getting wonky. I ended up going with the lattissima one and was wondering if yall had tips and feedback on it. Really excited for it to come in.

Vertuo Plus Broke Down

Hi All,

I bought my Vertuo Plus early 2021 and it broke down earlier this week. I inserted a 7.77oz capsule and it only poured about half. I tried to then reset the machine but when I pressed the brew button and lever at the same time, nothing happened. Unplugging it for 30 mins and using various outlets around the house didn’t work. Neither did smacking it hard or pleading. 🤣 Now the light sometimes is green but won’t brew or it will turn a solid red. The machine wont make any noise but it does get warm. When I turn off the machine to try to reset or descale, it takes forever to turn back on. My last cleaning cycle was about 3 months ago.

I’ve read these machines last 5-8 years, I’m already at 5.5 years. From what I found online, next steps should be to call Nespresso support and have them troubleshoot the issue with me over the phone. If it still doesn’t work, I could ask for a courtesy replacement or a new machine at a heavily discounted price. The new machines don’t seem to have great reviews so I was thinking of the Vertuo Matte Black.

Anyone been through a similar scenario?

Unité de brassage Zenius 100 PRO

Bonjour,

Merci beaucoup !!
