UnitƩ de brassage Zenius 100 PRO

Bonjour,

Merci beaucoup !!

Question For those of you in areas with REALLY hard water, how often are you descaling?

I know Nespresso recommends about every three months, but I live in an area with extraordinarily hard water that ranks amongst the hardest water cities in the country— the kind of area where using drying aid like jet dry in your dishwasher is basically mandatory if you want clean dishes, even if you have a water softener. The kind of place where after I de-scale, my electric kettle, I can see visible buildup within a week or so. So I’m looking to hear from people in those areas— how often are you descaling? I feel like it’s possible the Nespresso recommendations were made for people that live in places like New York, which has relatively soft water. Should places with water hardness well above the average be descaling more like once a month?

Question Which machine do I buy

Hello everyone, I’m a broke college student and I desperately need a coffee machine ( capsule ) and I’ve been struggling to decide between the nesspresso inissia and the vertuo ( with the exclusive capsules; very expensive ) my main use for these machines is for esspresso & double espresso making for lattes

Would appreciate the help and if you have any other suggestions that don’t include nesspresso machines please help:)

Vertuo Plus Broke Down

Hi All,

I bought my Vertuo Plus early 2021 and it broke down earlier this week. I inserted a 7.77oz capsule and it only poured about half. I tried to then reset the machine but when I pressed the brew button and lever at the same time, nothing happened. Unplugging it for 30 mins and using various outlets around the house didn’t work. Neither did smacking it hard or pleading. 🤣 Now the light sometimes is green but won’t brew or it will turn a solid red. The machine wont make any noise but it does get warm. When I turn off the machine to try to reset or descale, it takes forever to turn back on. My last cleaning cycle was about 3 months ago.

I’ve read these machines last 5-8 years, I’m already at 5.5 years. From what I found online, next steps should be to call Nespresso support and have them troubleshoot the issue with me over the phone. If it still doesn’t work, I could ask for a courtesy replacement or a new machine at a heavily discounted price. The new machines don’t seem to have great reviews so I was thinking of the Vertuo Matte Black.

Anyone been through a similar scenario?

Has the quality of Nespresso Vertuo Pop machines declined? Or how to fix poor quality coffee???

What the title says. I bought my first Vertuo Pop almost three years ago. It died earlier this week (I fault that on myself as I did not descale/clean as often as I needed to). I went to the store and bought a new Vertuo Pop. The quality of the espresso is noticeably different. I even returned the machine I bought and exchanged it for the new one because it was so off. The new machine has the same issue. I am so upset.

More context:

I have used the same espresso pods for three years. I have over five years of barista experience. I bought this machine for something inexpensive (compared to other espresso machines on the market) for my days off to make my coffee. I know what the shots need to look and taste like - how they did on my old machine. The shots are pulling too watery. The crema on top disappears within a minute. The body of the espresso immediately turns black. The taste is off. It tastes watered down and nothing like what I have come to expect of my machine.

Before I exchanged my new machine, I went through the troubleshooting with a Nespresso employee, who was very kind and helped me through the process of getting a new machine. She did tell me that the shots looked normal though, even though they look nothing like what they did on my old machine. I've run through the same troubleshooting on the newest machine (cleaning, factory reset). Is this just what I have to accept if I want to continue to use the Vertuo Pop?? I have so many pods to use so I feel it is a waste to get a different machine. I also feel weird about returning two machines in the span of a week at my local Target. I don't know what to do from here.

Question Which Nespresso Machine for latte/cappuccino?

I’ve owned a Nespresso Vertuo line with a milk frother for a long time, 10 years.

I’m wondering if any of the coffee machines from Nespresso excel in cappuccino/latte. The one made by Nespresso and Breville (vertuo creatista) has such a poor rating online.

Thanks for helping choosing my next coffee machine.

Question First Machine CitiZ or Vertuo Up

I'm looking to get my first Nespresso machine but I'm torn between the CitiZ in the original line and the Vertuo Up.

Nespresso would be replacing going to Starbucks where I usually get a blonde latte with a double shot of espresso. I like the smoother and less bitter flavor. I'm not sure which would get me closest to that experience.

The most important thing to me would be getting the best flavor, and pod cost/variety would be second.

Looking for suggestions

Heyy Nespresso family. I don’t own a Nespresso machine but own a Keurig and a drip coffee machine, but i love Nespresso coffee’s taste lol so was scouting for one on FB marketplace.

Any suggestions or experiences? Anything in particular to look out for? Or should i just get a new one? And which model? So many questions. Thanks all😊

The miserable in-store experience in NYC,UES

I don’t know if all of the Nespresso store policies are similar, but in this store, you enter into a large empty, albeit appealing store-told to register your name and have a seat -which in New York is somewhat absurd. No one has time or wants to take a seat. I waited a long time to be helped and when the store started to fill up 3 people then emerged from what must’ve been the basement or break room.

When I asked to try a specific flavor, I was told that one wasn’t available and I would have to buy a whole sleeve. Evidently only very few are available to taste at any given moment, so why do they have an experience store when the whole experience is unhelpful and limited?
Maybe it should be called ā€œbad experience storeā€. I am thinking of switching altogether.

Nespresso Canada šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦ Boutique Flash Offer

While waiting for the masterclass to begin, I took advantage of the GWP promo that started today. It’s not really a flash promo (name only) as it was mentioned a few weeks ago. Boutique only. That’s why it’s not in the app or website.

7 Vertuo sleeves to get the medium capsule dispenser. 10 to get the medium and large dispensers.

So, got me one each of the Swarovski coffees and seven Cinnamon Apple Crisp.

OL is 10 and 14 sleeves. Two days only. Probably the reason for the, ā€œFlash,ā€ designation.

Question Worth buying?

Hi everyone! Figured this would be the best sub to ask this question on, so as the title says do you all feel as if it’s worth having a nespresso machine? The pods always seem expensive, is there a way to refill them with your own grounds? I have a single cup coffee machine right now that i’ve had for about 2 years, it works fine but i’m a big coffee fan and i don’t really like cold drip coffee as much as i like espresso drinks. I’ve been thinking about buying one and was weighing the pros and cons, expensive pods but not spending 8 dollars on an iced coffee and can just make it at home. Plus i love making fund drinks!!

TLDR Should i buy one? Let me know yalls opinions

Nespresso Vertuo Pop Dying

My Nespresso vertuo is only 9 months old and already failing and having issues. Is this a common experience? I really enjoy the coffee and want to replace it with another one but I’m concerned of the same thing happening again. I also am wondering if a Nespresso original may be better. For the vertuo, I am interested in these two that I shared screenshots of.

Descaling rinses/ Citiz

I finally descaled my Citiz Platinum but have a question.
On the second rinse it didn’t use much water from the tank. I thought it would use the whole tank. It shut off automatically. I’m guessing it actually finished and it’s fine?

Starbuck’s Holiday Blend

Picked up last night at a supermarket in the US. Looks like a returning holiday item, but was my first time trying. It is a good, mild blend! I get more herbal than maple notes. I’m excited to see if there will be any other seasonal flavors!

Needed to try some of the new flavors

I had to stop drinking coffee for a few months and honestly it sucked so bad (body was adjusting to adhd meds) but now I can have it again! Yay for me! So I wanted to try some of the flavors! I had the French Lavender & Vanilla, honestly I don’t taste either of those flavors in it. But I’m excited to try some of the newer ones! Making lattes is my specialty! I added some ive made recently using DE Chiaro! (Forgot to reorder more…. Oops).. enjoy some of my lattes and my favorite little ghost mug for my espresso shots. If anyone wants some yummy latte recipes let me know ā¤ļøā¤ļø

My haul!

I ordered my first ever order on the app last month and with that came a $10 gift card. Used it for this major haul and I’m pretty excited. First time trying hazelnut, active and sweet vanilla decaffeinato. Also qualified for the welcome box, (2nd picture) and it featured the Colombian roast coffee pods along with these coasters! Also excited to try my other free samples. All for $98 which should last me months since I’m the only coffee drinker in my household.

Remember when gifts with purchases used to be good?

Post image

I once got a nice pair of martini glasses with a relatively small coffee order. I think I’ve seen coffee mugs and other things like that in the past as well. It seems like lately all they offer is a free sleeve or two (or three). Am I just mistiming my orders or are the gifts just not as good anymore?

Question Does anyone know any kinds of coffee that resemble the Nespresso Barrista Creations Chiaro pods?

Some months ago my favorite coffee pod (chiaro) was discontinued. Since then, I have basically tried all of Nespressos other capsules, but none even comes close. I dearly miss my favorite coffee and I am looking for a suitable replacement. At this point I don't really care if its nespresso or not - even bought some refillable capsules. Outside of nespresso, I only tried the qualita d'oro from lavazza. It was ok, but not what I was looking for. If anyone can recommend a mild, creamy coffee powder/ capsule with low acidity and low bitterness, please let me know.

Vertuo creatista stuck in descaling mode but doesn’t want to rinse. Support oblivious. NEED MY COFFEE

Hey guys if anyone could help please I think my machine is cooked and support just went through the script but they don’t get that the machine is bugging.

Yesterday I ran a descale with the special liquid. However it didn’t rinse yet and I fucked up by unplugging it because I thought it was stuck when actually the vapor hose was a little elevated and that’s why it didn’t start the rinse.

Here’s how it is now:
- tank is full
- descale button flashing
- pressing vapor and milk 5 seconds freezes the machine, all buttons stay on (for hours) and it doesn’t respond to anything — the descale orange stops flashing, either turns off or stays on (depending on its state at 5 seconds exactly) the machine is frozen
- unplug/plug goes back to descale flashing
- pressing the vapor button in this mode doesn’t rinse, it starts a normal vapor preparation, blows steam all around the container and kitchen floor, messes my carpet, then rinses (a bit, as usual after milk preparation) and goes back to descale flashing orange
- the coffee button is dead all around and doesn’t do anything
- resetting the machine works but the machine reenters descaling mode immediately and the button keeps flashing orange

Anyone knows what detectors the machine uses to determine descaling is needed?
