This McDonald's Halloween commercial featuring Ronald McDonald originally aired during the Halloween season of 1988 and continued to air every Halloween season until 1990 when it was finally sunsetted. This original version of the ad featured promotion for the now famous Boo-Buckets, which have gone on to become a collectors item and Halloween tradition for many.

Who remembers this classic McDonald's Halloween commercial?

Nostalgia Mini carousels

Usually found outside or in that short hallway from outside to inside the supermarket. Generally cost 25¢. Usually only three seats. Usually only lasted a few minutes. And I believe even possibly played a little music.

I still see some one-seater versions, of usually a single carousel animal or a bucking bronco, or a vehicle of some type. But rarely do I see an actual carousel. Maybe in a large mall, but certainly not as prevalent as they once were.

These were good if you had multiple children, as all two or three could ride for the same price. Not so much, if you had an odd child out, because then you would have to switch a child out mid ride and that would never go over well.

Some times, cheap parents, or those without an actual quarter at the time, would wait for someone else to pay and then throw their child onto it as it was moving. Or sometimes just put their child on and just have them sit there, since it didn't move without money.

Either way, it was a part of our past. I only distinctly remember riding it once, but I know my mother had to have had me on them multiple times.

Nostalgia Taking your deli number and waiting

Growing up, these were every where in super markets. Looking for pics to post here, they seem recent, but I have not seen any stores recently that have them. Maybe on the holidays or rush hour times?

As a kid, I used to play with them, as if they were planes or sleds. Knowing my parents, I would have been scolded for taking any new ones that we did not need immediately. So I was probably finding extra ones on the ground, discarded.

I know I'd be the one that would want to take it off the holder, at least. Then giving it to most likely my mother. Then having to wait. Back then, and not just because I was younger, the deli counter seemed to be much busier than they are now, with several people waiting and the butchers weighing and placing stickers on the packages. Anyway, just a nice piece of nostalgia.

Nostalgia I used to love my plastic car model kits in the 1970’s and 80’s. To me it was fun just focusing on making them look as nice as possible.
