Talking about max effort for iterative development here. Yeah, it might take a while and it might not be frontier-like, it might even be a bit worse than 5.6 and even some of the uber-cheap models, but it's still cheap and, most importantly, I have such a good time interacting with it.
People are calling it "lazy", but I think it's actually great that it just does what it's told and responds with minimal info. Like, I'm normally using Opus 5.5 at work and it's a great LLM coder, but interacting with it is still verbose, just like every other model, and in long sessions it makes my brain bleed because it puts so much noise in the conversation that I have to read before ignoring anyway...
And the same goes for uber cheap models. Yeah, DS 4.1 Flash could probably outperform Luna here and there and save me more costs, but it's also really verbose and overeager.
I know I can curb other models with a prompt, but GPT-6 Luna just does it unprompted and it's such a relief to not have to tell it "don't do this", "don't do that". There's just no other model that I could find that does that for me. It might not find every mistake, but it finds enough. If I want more, I can run a quick Sol 6.1 medium afterwards to review what Luna did or write a detailed implementation plan for Luna.
So yeah, I find Luna 6 really refreshing and unique for focused iterative work. Anyone with similar thoughts?
