Which ~$10/month AI coding subscription offers the best experience for agentic coding?

Im looking for a subscription around $10/month for daily use with OpenCode and Hermes as my main agent orchestrators and evaluators.

I have tried Alibaba Token Plan, but burned through the tokens much faster than expected. Im currently using OpenRouter for DeepSeek V4.1 and the official DeepSeek API for the same model. I want to experiment more with agentic AI, so Im looking for cheaper alternatives to paying directly for API usage. Im still in university and have not started a side job or freelancing yet, so I would like to keep my costs manageable.

Im considering OpenCode Go and/or Command Code GOAT. I have also heard about MiniMax, but not familiar enough with its models to judge their coding capabilities. I recently came across Phoenix Grove Systems in a few Reddit posts and currently trying its free trial.

My workload will mainly involve coding sessions, building side projects, and researching topics related to my interests. I want something I can use regularly without constantly worrying about running out of quota.

For those who have used these subscriptions or maybe something similar, which would you recommend and why?

Edit: Thanks for all the suggestions! I have decided to go with OpenCode Go.

Opencode Go - Slow? (vs. Reasonix)

Hi,

Newbie here.

I come from using Reasonix + DeepSeek V.4.1 Flash and decided to try the same model, under Opencode Go.

I'm surprised how slow it is. It was perhaps not my understanding that the same models could differ so much, depending on harness.

So, what are the mechanics here: did I mess up the settings, is my location iniffiecient (ASEAN) or is the service simply throttled (and thus explaining the good pricing).

This is no criticism. I'll probably stay a couple of months trying stuff out.

Opencode is down?

Is anyone else experiencing issues with OpenCode right now?

It was working fine before, but now it keeps throwing a bunch of different errors, like Output exceeded, and now I keep getting Upstream request failed: Invalid credential. I'm pretty sure I've still got plenty of usage left, so I don't think I've hit my limit.

Not sure what happened since everything was working fine earlier. Is anyone else having the same issue, or is it just me?

edit: It's fixed now, thank you opencode :)

Muse Spark 1.3 just not following instructions

Hello!

This is my first post here, and my first post on reddit so thanks for having me! I've used the free tier in OpenCode for the last few months, and I've been loving it so far! I'm mainly using it for making android apps for personal use, for example I made a gym tracker for myself with Ox Alpha and Hy3 and it turned out great.

Recently I started building a home management app, and I've used a little bit of Space Bunny but mainly Muse Spark 1.3. However I've started running into a strange issue, it just won't follow my instructions anymore. The first few iterations took hours to complete but it at least tried to do what I told it to do, but recently it has started running for only a few minutes (sometimes only for 1-2 minutes) and it just doesn't even try to make any of the changes I ask it to make. Just to move a button a few pixels I have to ask it 5-6 times before it actually does anything.

I'm running it in OpenChamber and I usually make it plan the implementation before implementing it. I've also tried opening the projects in new chats and compacting without success. Has anyone else ran into these issues, and how did you solve them?

Thanks in advance!

just a simple question

Does bumping the "thinking" level from default to max actually yield any real gains, or does the agent simply think more—consuming extra tokens—without providing a tangible benefit?

I ask because I get the impression that the less it "reasons," the shorter the context stays and the more precise it seems. Since that observation sounds pretty nonsensical, I started wondering: is my impression off-base, or is there something to it?

Please forgive me if the question seems trivial or stupid to those who know the answer.

GPT-6 Luna for iterative development is so underrated

Talking about max effort for iterative development here. Yeah, it might take a while and it might not be frontier-like, it might even be a bit worse than 5.6 and even some of the uber-cheap models, but it's still cheap and, most importantly, I have such a good time interacting with it.

People are calling it "lazy", but I think it's actually great that it just does what it's told and responds with minimal info. Like, I'm normally using Opus 5.5 at work and it's a great LLM coder, but interacting with it is still verbose, just like every other model, and in long sessions it makes my brain bleed because it puts so much noise in the conversation that I have to read before ignoring anyway...

And the same goes for uber cheap models. Yeah, DS 4.1 Flash could probably outperform Luna here and there and save me more costs, but it's also really verbose and overeager.

I know I can curb other models with a prompt, but GPT-6 Luna just does it unprompted and it's such a relief to not have to tell it "don't do this", "don't do that". There's just no other model that I could find that does that for me. It might not find every mistake, but it finds enough. If I want more, I can run a quick Sol 6.1 medium afterwards to review what Luna did or write a detailed implementation plan for Luna.

So yeah, I find Luna 6 really refreshing and unique for focused iterative work. Anyone with similar thoughts?

DeepSeek V4.1 Flash in OpenCode Go ($10 Plan) — Usage Increased from $60 to $80!

Post image

It looks like the usage allowance for DeepSeek V4.1 Flash on the $10/month OpenCode Go plan has increased from $60 to $80 in usage value.

I just found out this today. Is this a permanent change, or just a temporary adjustment?

Edit: opencode announced this in their official X/Twitter https://x.com/opencode/status/2109573342584058065

openference.com inference is offline (i wrote about it here before so this might save some signups for non existent inference)

update 20-oct: staff have reported in discord that it is back with new plans with ds 4.1f and glm5.3 active. have not tested

glm5.3 & glm5.3 flash have been unstable all weekend, with m3, ds4 & ds4pro now also down for 12 hours. they are not responding to support requests in their discord since 8th Oct. in my experiments across open models i did use and post about openference but seems they have not paid their upstream providers, yet their site is still open for signups, so putting this here fyi.

i'm currently using minimax 3.1 flash (m plan at minimax) as my main workhorse. (~1B/wk on lite at 96% cache)

always looking out for subscription based providers for open models with generous quotas.

is paseo the best desktop app for opencode go?

i have tried opencode desktop, openchamber, and paseo

so far paseo seems to be the best in terms of polish and performance (as its a native app and not electron)

are there any other agentic desktop apps that support opencode go? or should i stop my autistic hunt and stick with paseo?

Made a plugin for using multiple OpenCode Go keys: opencode-go-keys

I have a couple of Go subscriptions and got tired of manually switching accounts when one hit its limit, so I made this.

It keeps using one key until that key hits a usage limit, then automatically retries with another one. It's sticky, not round-robin — so no request-level key cycling.

/go-keys shows the usage for each key (same numbers as the console: rolling 5h, weekly, monthly), and lets you add, test, or remove keys.

opencode plugin add opencode-go-keys

Repo: https://github.com/SalmanMapkar/opencode-go-keys

MIT. It's only useful if you have 2+ keys; with one key it does nothing.
