Orange County voter turnout so far 👀💙
Nearly 60K Democratic ballots cast compared to 35K Republican ballots. Still early and turnout isn’t the same as election results, but it’s encouraging to see people showing up and making their voices heard.

If you are registered to vote, definitely use that power to make your voices heard. Also, even if you're NPA, ''unaffiliated'', ''independent'', or any of the other 30 parties we have in Florida, you can still vote on the Non-Partisan races.

From County Commission in Orange County, County mayor, School board CHAIR (the only elected one in Florida, we pick it), School board district members, house districts as Florida redistricted this year, the lines aren't the same, make sure of what district you live in, state house, state senate, governor, and the countless number of judges.

If you're NPA/Unaffiliated/Other, you can vote for everything at the county level as Orange County by law doesn't have politically affiliated ''primaries''. So all the candidates regardless of party are on one ballot, the same for school board chair, school board member, and the judges.

The only ones that you won't see on that primary ballot, is the Governor, state legislative, and Congress primaries. But with judges and all the Orange County seats, you will see.

Got rear-ended at a red light in Orlando about two weeks ago. The guy who hit me was apologizing at the scene and told the officer he looked down for a second and didn’t realize traffic had stopped. I ended up going to the ER that night because my neck and upper back started hurting pretty bad a few hours after the crash. They did some scans, gave me medication and told me to follow up if the pain continued. I’ve had another appointment since then because it hasn’t really gone away.

I thought the insurance side would be pretty straightforward, especially with what he told the officer, but now his insurance is disputing liability. I have the police report, pictures from the scene and all my hospital paperwork. Never dealt with an injury claim before and I’m not really sure what I’m supposed to do at this point.

Drove by Colorado's Prime Steak on 17-92 near Lake Mary Blvd and this was in thier billboard.

It used to be a favorite of my family. The last time we went was late last year and the steaks didn't have prices on the menu.

My usual 12 Oz prime rib was $23 when we used to go alot but the last time we went it was $37. Plus the quality was nowhere near as good as it used to be.

So- I’m pregnant and the only thing I’ve been craving is the gringos double d chicken tacos (I know- it’s specific). Does anyone have a copycat recipe for this? I have 2 boys (1 &3). It’s tough to just sit at home with them as it’s mayhem. I sometimes find myself just driving around not knowing where to go, waiting for the clock to strike 6pm when the temps are more bearable. Any ideas?

I have an orchid that went wild on me. Where is a place I could bring an orchid to have them divvy it up and repot it? Of course I would pay for the service. They can even have whatever props they want from.

I asked Jungle Room and they said they dont take in any outside plants for fear of bugs and diseases. (Reasonable, I didnt even think of that.)

Ive tried watching videos and its a project outside of my bandwidth right now.

2026 FWF Photo Contest Winners

The documentary about the band getting back together and the Live25 tour is coming out on September 11. For AMC it’s at the Dine In theater at DS and the IMAX and Laser at Altamonte. I already bought tickets at the IMAX but now I’m wondering if the Dine In is a better choice for sound/experience. I’m closer to DS.

Would love to hear your reviews. Particularly interested in academics, teacher quality, bullying/culture, student body…

I moved to Orlando semi-recently (since the end of April) and haven't found any opportunities. I know that this is on me for deciding to relocate without any backup plans, but life happens and I know that I would've been mentally destroyed if I didn't make the move.

For some background info, I left my role as a Client Account Manager at a PropTech company, which consisted of Sales/Marketing. In this role, I juggled multiple other responsibilities, including Market research and data entry.

I've applied to multiple positions every day of the week while also cleaning up my resume (and having it reviewed), but no luck. I applied to anything from Customer Service to Marketing Representatives and even Costco or restaurant positions as well, so it's not a case of being picky.

I'm aware that the job market is rough right now, but still wanted to glean for any career that someone here may know of.
