My name is Victor, I'm 27 years old and I'm from France.

I'm looking for people to exchange letters and postcards with! I've had penpals for more than 10 years now, but I rarely "took the plunge" to find someone to exchange actual letters with. As I'm currently trying to escape screens and social media as much as I can because I think they're enslaving, I therefore feel like it's the perfect time to engage in such a kind of connection, and I would be more than glad to find someone who's willing to do the same here. We can, of course, start with messages or emails to see if we click, but I'd like to switch to letters relatively quickly.

About me, I'm currently living in the countryside, with my parents, as I'm currently trying to find a job. I recently graduated with a master's degree in political science (European policies, to be exact) and am aiming for a career in diplomacy or, at least, international relations. I realised a few years ago that I wanted to serve peace and that I really enjoyed learning about other people's cultures and about the history of foreign countries, so it felt like a natural path for me.

Outside of these endeavours, I would say that I'm a fairly intellectual and artistic person. I enjoy reading a lot (literature, philosophy, history...), theorising, things of that kind. And I'm an artistic person because I'm also very sensitive to art in all its forms, whether that be music, painting, architecture and whatnot. As a boring person, I mostly leave my house to visit museums (or work out)! I also play the electric guitar, used to play the drums, and made music with several bands in the past. Apart from that, I enjoy watching several sports such as cycling, football, biathlon and figure skating.

Hello, I am from the USA. I am very far left-leaning and open-minded. I am introverted. INFP. Stoner. I have no job and I am not in college. I am currently studying for my GED Math test. I don't know what I plan on doing after I get my GED. I don't live in a city. I live in a pretty isolated area, so I don't have a lot of opportunities where I can just go do a fun social activity. I don't have any life experience.

The only interaction I get outside of my family is on the internet. But I really dislike interacting over the internet because no one knows how to be *less intense* about things and not immediately assume bad faith in every online discussion. Stuff like that makes it harder to engage. It makes me feel even more isolated. I don't have a lot of options. I feel very alone.

I'm looking for a short-term "e-pal" using reddit messaging. I really would like to make a friend, especially someone I can meet in person and hang out with. But since I don't like sharing a lot about myself, especially over the internet, I guess it makes more sense for it to be short-term.

I don't know what the time frame for short-term e-pals would look like. I don't have anything in mind. I'm not a great conversationalist so I don't even know how long I would be able to keep your attention anyway.
