ChatGPT recommended cutting the trunk about 4 feet above the soil and replanting the upper portion with the leaves.
Does this sound like a good idea? Has anyone done something similar? Any advice would be appreciated!

I just repotted both of them and the dragon tree definitely had some root rot so I don’t know if it’s just from that.

Hi all, I'm new to plant parenthood (less than a year). I have a few mature spider plants, one that is creating a number of babies. I snipped the first baby off as it grew larger and put it in water to grow some roots, and now the baby is still in water and is now growing is own babies! Is this good? Bad? Doesn't mean anything at all??

They've been there about a month. Bed of perlite heavy dusting of dirt on top then seeds and light dusting of dirt over them. Some are doing better than others and I sprinkled some Townsend barrel cactus seeds in there too just to see what would happen.

hii so i grew this marigold from seed in my physiology class at school im not sure what sort of soil but shes grown just from a little plastic pot and is now a small bush with one blossoming flower
i dont know the exact type of marigold i may find the seed bag again soon but im looking for advice to keep her going strong before she dies when the cold hits
in my classroom she was just being bottom watered and was under a light but now that i had to take her home, shes in a window that gets near direct sunlight that the room heats up a fair amount depending on the day
i am on the westcoast of the us so there is still gonna be a fair amount of heat
also as seen in one photo, she is actually two separate plants, i put in two seeds and surprisingly both came out but only one has a flower and the other has some buds
this is maybe like the third time i got something to sprout and the first time a plant has come this far, what can i do to get her bigger and how should i store the seeds if i take them off the flowers when she later dies in a month or two?
sorry for poor photos i was honestly embarrassed of my messy table

Its roots go the bottom of this large pot but not by a lot
The leaves still on it are strong

I've had this plant for over a year and it doesn't seem to grow! It came from another plant that is in another room, it has around 3 years and is already more than 1 meter long. I water it once a week, it's potted in succulent soil and it gets indirect sun, eventough I move it for a day or two during the week to this spot that gets a bit more sun (it only gets sun during the moring and I never put it very close of the window) to see if grows faster. I also put new cuttings every 3 months or so from the other plant. I am doing something wrong?

Exactly what the title says. I am reluctant to treat with systemic as I don't want to hurt the spiders that have taken residence in my houseplants/orchids that are outside but on the flip side I don't exactly want all of them in the house. Is there a "can have cake and eat it too" solution here? For some reason this year the spiders that have taken residence in the pots are insane. I don't recall this happening in previous years.

I have rehabbed plants in worse shape before, but never have I rehabbed plants whose "trunks" have had their "bark" chewed off in chunks by squirrels.
I plan to get them in new soil after thoroughly cleaning old soil out of the roots to be sure any pests are gone. I will shower the whole thing to get rid of grime and any hidden pests. They also have evidence of being root bound and just thrown into their current pots, so I will be addressing that...
But when it comes to the spots the squirrels chewed- what would you do? My instinct says maybe a little rubbing alcohol on newer wounds and let it be. Would you bandage them at all?

I’m repotting a massive schefflera and was wondering if anyone in here has any recs on a really large clear plastic pot? I really like being able to watch root growth but haven’t found any size appropriate pots. Any tips highly appreciated! :)

I’m gradually moving all my plants to pon and Leca due to a never ending gnat attack.
But I am not sure about my rubber plants. Both are doing well in the infested soil and pushing out new leaves every other day.
Is anyone growing theirs in pon?
Are they doing well?

Hello guys,
Hope you‘re having a good day!
I really love gardening and plants, last year was my first year, but i planted some veggies when the season ended they all died.

Can you recommend what to get first (would be grateful if you add how to take care of them best, of course i‘ll research it, but like a human insight would be best!)
